Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

It is an 800m walk from the MRT. There is a bus stop nearby that can take you to the station.

Summit View Kowloon is an extremely budget friendly hotel for the location and the size of the hotel room. Anyone how has ever gone to Hong Kong will know that hotels are normally extremely small with little to no space for luggage or space to move around in the bathroom; however, this hotel was spacious in comparison. Also, the location was great! A short walk to the subway and also there is a bus a few minutes walk away that takes you straight to Causeway Bay. Will definitely book again next time I am in Hong Kong.

Staff: not nice and unhelpful Location: It's located on the hill. So if you have to walk up there with big luggage, it's not a good choice.

1. Kettle: for health concerns, is the kettle made of plastics? phthalates? Why not using stainless steel kettle? 2. The sink is clogged. Water isn't draining properly. 3. too strong ceiling spotlight over the bed.

They don’t change the bedding unless you specifically request it - we asked twice to change our sheets (within our 6 night stay) and it was not changed.
The room is a good size for HK, the AC worked well and it was very comfortable.

If I had to pick, that would be the slightly loud AC even when we set the wind as low.
The room was very clean and well-organized, which transcended the experience. The corridor was bright and smelled good. Everyone was quiet, we had a good sleep. The view as also good.

It’s located on a hill with taxi stopping at a slope. It’s difficult to drag the heavy luggage to the front door. And the door isn’t opened automatically, so on one hand, I struggled to bring in my luggage, on another hand, I struggled to push the door open.
It’s clean and tidy. The room is spacious. The bed is soft and comfortable. The lobby is quiet. The sound insulation for the room is very good, at least I was never disturbed by noise at the corridor or from next room through the night.

I didn’t appreciate having to pay for water Sometimes the bathroom smelt - not sure if it was the tap water or just the drains Staff could have been friendly It would have been nice if they had a little cafe/breakfast bar - rather than a restaurant Steep to get up to it - struggled with big suitcase as pavement was uneven no onsite laundry facilities would be nice if they had brochures
