windows had no glass so traffic can be a bit noisy. You get no key so there will be a guard or someone in the building next door

When we had a minor issue with the guard they were very helpful and took it seriously to make sure we have a good stay. Laundry is very affordable and good. Room is nice as well as the hot shower and toilets.

Hostel Iguana Azul in Copán Ruinas is a hidden gem offering a serene escape amidst lush surroundings. Nice firm bed. Hot showers. Easy check-in as soon as we arrived, unlimited filtered water. It's pretty and comfortable. They did our laundry for a great price and got something out of one ite I expected would stain.

Few minutes walk from the town center. Very clean and cozy hostel. Super friendly and warm hospitality. The food and coffee served next door are delicious.

Staff didn't get back to me for a shuttle request so I booked elsewhere. There are no real windows and my room was noisy at times. However, overall the place is really good value!

This Hostel has been by far one of my favorite stays in the past few weeks. Howard and his wife are super welcoming, helpful and made sure that everyone who visited, had a great stay. The food at the Café is delicious and the staff was wonderful. The garden views are beautiful and I felt safe and comfortable in every moment. The rooms are clean, have everything you need and you can tell, that this hostel is prepared for backpackers or people that want to travel around and get the best experience of Copán Ruinas. The hostel has details that I haven’t seen so far in any other hostel (locks, information panels with lots of detailed information, bed gets made, security concierge etc.) It might not be the cheapest hostel in town, but it for sure is worth the few extra dollars.

The lobby area can get dirty when it rains. So perhaps they can place two doormats at either ends. I have shared this feedback with them and I am sure they would rectify it. The staff needs to speak English (& French/ Deutsch etc) since they might be getting guests from Non-Spanish countries. Again, these are minor things and I would definitely stay here again!

The property is famous so you don't need to guide taxi. The decor was excellent with blue as the theme colour. The room was reasonably large! It was fairly low-priced. The room was clean. The wifi worked OK. They organized tuktuk when I checked out & it came within the allotted time. They helped me book a horse riding tour and the guy with the horses was ready at the appointed hour. They had free water station right outside the room. The owner Howard was kind & helpful. One rare exception was that they don't insist on pre-payment. They allow you to stay, eat etc and pay when you check out, by whatever method(Cash or card). Also, I am a large sized guy & in my entire tour of Central America, this was the only hotel which gave me a towel which was large enough for me! Also when I rode horse and wanted to wash my clothes, they did not have space in the washing machine for me, but they dried them free for me as I was to leave the next day! I forgot to hand over the key while leaving and the tuktuk guy came again at the bus station looking for me! Great Positive Attitude overall!

Iguana Azul is a great place to stay nearby the Copan Ruinas. Also really enjoyed the town of Copán itself. Recommend spending some time there! :)

It was a bit noisy in our room,as the windows are without glass and were facing the small crossroads. Also the doors in the hostel tend to close noisily. But it was mostly nice and calm at night.

The hostel ist super clean and very comfortable. It's also very pretty with nicely painted walls,wooden furniture,plants outside and the place is obviously well taken care of. The staff are friendly and helpful. Also the restaurant in the hotel next door has excellent fresh food, simple but good quality and great prices. The owner was also very kind when we had difficulty with our credit card and was very helpful. We also got good advice about how to travel onward and info about activities in and around Copán.

As is anywhere around Copan, the birds can be a little loud in the mornings — this isn’t a complaint as much as an FYI :)

I was here for a one-stay from El Salvador and it was perfect! Howard and his staff were incredibly helpful, the cafe attached to the hostel had a beautiful view, and room and bathrooms were very clean.

There could be a shelter leading to the restrooms. But not much of an issue.

Clean and basic room. And the staff allowed me to check in early. Walkable to many locations in Copán Ruinas.
