Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Everything was perfect.
The property is in a perfect area. With movement but not too much and 5 -10 minutes walking to the city center. The facilities were clean, the breakfast it’s included had a lot of variety. Beds were clean and rooms were cleaned regularly. Anja and her mother were wonderful. They did more than they should have for me. I felt really safe and taken care of. 💕 thank you so much! 100% recommend.

Anja is a very kind and welcoming host! She helps you make the most of your time in Split and provides a lovely breakfast to start your day. The bathroom is separate to the dorm and kept really clean with plenty of showers, toilets and sinks. There is a good size common room and the beds are comfy. The hostel feels safe and is a very short walk into the centre.

The showers could use some improvement in my opinion as it was quite difficult to regulate the temperature: it was either too hot or too cold and the duration of the shower running was too short.
I liked how clean and modern the whole place looked and also the complimentary breakfast was a nice bonus. Location is convenient to reach sea side in a 20min. The room are spacious and the AC is working.

I was there for 4 days and there was never any paper towels in the bathroom to dry my hands. 2 paper towel dispensers but they were always empty, and no hand dryer. A minor thing but annoying and easily fixed.
Nice seating area. Few guys staying who were a bit rude, and one guy was very rude and insisted on having the light turned off so he could sleep, even though it was only a bedside light and it was only 9.30 in the evening! Comfortable bed and good lockers for everyone

Showers couldn’t be adjusted so they were either too hot or too cold.

This place was a great place to stay. The beds were very clean, the bathrooms were modern and very clean as well. The receptionist Anja was very friendly and showed me how to take the shuttle bus to the airport.

The breakfast was truly amazing! They serve lots of different pastry, cold cuts, even scrambled eggs and croissaints filled with cream cheese and smoked salmon! 4* hotels do not serve that level of breakfast! Bravo AI hostel!

Great hostel with modern facilities and amazing and helpfull owners. Located in quite area, but not too far from the old town, maybe around 15min walk. Great breakfast as well!

My stay at AI Hostel was nothing short of exceptional. The place is run by two beautiful souls who are among the nicest people I've ever met. Their warmth and genuine hospitality made me feel right at home. Also there’s a reason why this hostel is ranked so high. Checks every box. The rooms are clean, comfortable and the place thoughtfully designed to provide everything you need for a pleasant stay. The place is not that far from the old town which is the main attraction of the city. Again thank you for everything! And wish you the best.

I liked everything
I loved being at AI hostel! The facilities were always clean! The two hosts, Anja and Diana, were the best! The aircondition was perfect, wifi was good. The breakfast was amazing, and there was always something to do 🙏🏼 If you were in doubt about where you wanna go in Split, look no further. This is the spot. I was there in the week of Ultra, and the AI hostel definitely made the whole experience waay better. It was also less than 10 minutes away from the festival.
