Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Originally the room was incredibly bad, but we got a very generous update for a good amount of money and the AC didn't reach the bedroom, making it super stuffy and hot at night!
The staff was very very nice and very helpful! The location was truly gold worthy, and the walk to Riva was very short. It even brought us through a Pazar and although the prices have gone up like crazy, it was nice to look around :)

The doors are thin so I can hear everything happening in the shared kitchen. The kitchen was functional, appliances new but as the bathrooms it really needed a renovation as it seems like it haven't been at all. The bathroom got those aid handles for elderly people and it wasn't that clean. Or the shower itself and toilet /sink but everything else needed a scrub.
The staff was nice and I got the room for only 65 euro. So same as some dorms. I got 2 towels and it was clean. Madres was a bit thin. The room was not that big, enough for me, but a bit small for 2 people maybe... The room itself was simple and the ac worked It was nice with the privacy tho. I was lucky to share with 3 younger girls that were very nice and respectful. I might have felt different sharing with a bunch of men. Loved the balcony

Male toilet was small... too cramped and small for my liking. Only one toilet as well per floor. Also the checkin time (3pm) is quite late so I had to walk around for ages before I could come in after my checkout from another nearby hostel. Had to book the first one as i would arrive after 12am and checkin here wouldnt have been possible. The bedside light is also too bright to turn on without waking up other guests. It would have been nice for them to organise some socials but luckily the other guests were plenty easy to mix with so it's not too bad after all.
The staff were nice and helpful. Beds were really comfortable compared to most other hostels, and the aircon worked great. You get fresh towels and linens, and beds are equipped with lights (too bright though) and wallplugs and you get a spacious locker that you can lock. Kitchen had a fridge, stove, kettle, etc. A communal balcony was a bonus! The people I met there were also really great so I got lucky there too. Location was also close to the palace (main city centre) and bus stop.

In one of the bathrooms (the smaller one) the water in the shower was only hot (it was almost impossible to make it warm or cold). IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED! DUE TO THE REALLY HOT WATER THERE IS A DANGER OF POSSIBLE INJURY! The room was hot even with open windows (the AC was not working well and there was no remote control to adjust the AC temperature... That is why the windows have to be open)
The location is great, it's clean, and the stuff is nice and friendly.

There's an overall "dingy" feel to the place: while it clearly gets basic cleaning, it needs a real deep clean to get out the stains and scuff marks on the walls, rust off metal fixtures, and grime out of hard-to-reach (but quite visible) corners. It's clear the photos of the property are of the best rooms/bathroom, but our room looked and felt very different. And for the price of the room, we expected it to feel more comfortable. We had a really bad first impression when arriving at night. Maybe some better lighting around the reception area would help? While the location is convenient, my female partner wouldn't have felt safe walking in the neighborhood alone after dark. It feels strangely dead despite the proximity to the old town and the tall apartments all around, and the street lighting is dim but harsh. Things felt a little better during the day. The hostel is spread among a few properties. The reception is down the street from the building in which we stayed, which appeared to be in a converted, older apartment. We were in a suite of three private rooms sharing a common bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. There wasn't much of a common area shared by the whole hostel, so there's less of a social vibe than other places we've stayed, and it combines with the other factors I mentioned to create an overall feeling of isolation.
Very close to the old city and only about a 10 minute walk from the ferry, bus, and train stations. Staff were friendly!

Should have been upfront about the exact location of the property, although just across the road from the reception it's not great to find out you will stay elsewhere upon check in. It's also not a hostel, just a flat with 3 bedrooms, without anyone from the hostel team being around so you are always staying alone in the flat with some strangers - this could be fine if advised upfront so people can make informed choice. Pictures presented were of different room, and no kettle nor private kitchenette inside despite being advertised as such. Overall this place will do for few day, not the nicest but has everything one would need to survive, if only the the description was reflective of the reality.
