Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Only 1 bathroom toilet combined
Only 1 toilet and hand held shower, where the boiler looked old, but gave lashings of hot water. So the wait can be long .Staff do the cleaning, so sometimes non existent! But it is clean enough. ‘Jack’ (Hungarian staffer) great at cleaning, polite and helpful. Beds ok, once you’ve made sure the small piece of board under the mattress is in the middle. Location fabUlous, with lift to 3rd floor, so very quiet. Kitchen ok. A small hostel, only 2 dorms (8&6 beds) lockers ok, but as with everything in this hostel, they are old and worn out

Only 1 toilet and bathroom for the entire hostel. And also the guy sleeping on the bottom part of the bunk bed was super annoying and loud.
Right in the middle of the centre and 2 mins walk from the airport bus stop so it was all easy.

As advertised, it is a very small hostel. Unfortunately there is only one room with a shower, toilet and sink, so sometimes it is awkward because several people want it.
The staff are AMAZING — especially Maira and Gabriella… thank you so much!!!! The location is perfect and it is really easy to come and go.

The bathroom could have been more than one for so many people.
Best location in Budapest, it's typically centre of the city. All the places are connected from there.

Bathroom, only telephone shower and no curtain, extremely difficult to take a shower with one hand Also no sign or name on the door and it was very easy to miss the door. I missed three times before I found it

I didn't like checkin time and they have a lot of rules, a little bit complicated to communicate with the stuff other than this nice experience. I didn't like there was no curtains on the bed.
I liked the location, the bathroom, it was only 1 bathroom for everyone but I was lucky I used it during lunch time and no one was using it.

The beds are not comfortable. There is only one shower for whole hostel and it is not comfortable, but it was usable.
In the middle of the city center. Very good location. The staff is helpful and has shown us free walking tours and recommended places to go. It was fairly clean, I didn't feel dirty. I would stay there again.

Pillows weren’t the most comfortable
Very close to the metro station and shops, good value for money and easy to access, staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the lockers were good sizes so no problem fitting belongings

Cool hostel in the very center of Budapest, excellent location. The hostel is small, in the evening you can hear beautiful violin music from the Italian restaurant. Near shopping, restaurants, close to the metro, bus stop to the airport. The interior needs a little renovation, there is a large bathroom, hair dryer, iron. Administrator Cool will tell you everything and help you. there is a washing machine. There is a kitchen where you can prepare food, a refrigerator, a microwave. I think for little money you can relax in a homely environment:)

It’s two rooms hostel, one passable for 8 people and another for 6 people with one of stuff person living there. Some lockers were broken.

The room had a strange smell, beds are noisy when people climb on that or turn around while sleeping.
Nice staff, the chilien receptionist is very friendly.
