Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomI don't think there was hot water. Outside toilet was missing perspex roof panel to prevent rain ingress. It was wet season and so I was drenched while going to the bathroom. Also the alley this is in has many dogs who will bark. One even took a "play" bite at my leg. These are all minor points. Personally I felt it a little overpriced but still... that's me I guess!
Very comfortable, super large smart TV, exceptional views over the valley. Nice staff. Quiet.

NetherlandsVery minor details; eg sink was old and a bit rusty. Nothing major :)
Very peaceful location with amazing views on the rice terraces. The host was very friendly and happy to help with everything (with the need of a translation app). Room was spacious and decently clean. Outside bathroom was fun to use and clean as well. Would recommend!

New ZealandThe bathroom could do with a wee bit of a repaint/tidy. And a little more protection from the rain. Slightly awkward location tucked away at the back of the property down a long lane esp coming back in the dark at night, but we did know this when we booked. Would be no problem for the young ones.
Stunning view from room and the friendly and welcoming service from Kadek. Okay location - walkable to Restaurants etc Comfortable Bed Good value

BelgiumThe facilities of the place itself are rather basic. The bathroom is half in open air, but when it started raining that meant that the entire bathroom got soaking wet. Breakfast options offered on the menu were not all available.
The location was incredible, it had the most spectacular view ever. Sleeping with the sounds of the jungle and waking up with an astonishing view.

NicaraguaThere was mold in the open bathroom, on the toilet paper and even on the bedsheets. The rooms can use a refreshment especially bathrooms.
Loved the friendly staff, and location overviewing rice fields. There is a great SPA 5 minutes walking too.

United KingdomIf you're not comfortable with insects especially ants, there can be quite a few outside on the seating area and in the open bathroom as you're very much in the countryside with this stay.
The view from the room and the surrounding countryside is pretty spectacular.

Clean, bright, gorgeous balcony views, staff couldn’t do enough. My boyfriend was sick and the young man from the neighbouring property that own this building brought dinner to our room and checked on us.

CanadaTo be honest, I thought other reviewers were just being babies when they mentioned getting wet in the open-air bathroom when it rains, but it turns out it really is pretty unpleasant going out to pee in the middle of the night in a downpour, sitting on a wet toilet seat in the rain, and then going back to bed all wet. I love the whole open-air concept for Indonesian bathrooms, but generally it's only the shower area that's open and then the rest is covered. This one unfortunately misses the mark and the entire bathroom gets soaked. You can't even really leave toilet paper out there. Hopefully they can find a fix for it. But if it's not raining, you're all good! Service was very good in the beginning but started to slip a little after the first day or two. I sat in the breakfast area for 20 minutes or more on a couple of mornings waiting for someone to appear, and finally went searching/calling into their home. I'm not usually too uptight about such things or in a big hurry, but one of the mornings I had a tour booked and I ended up having to wolf my food by the time we got breakfast sorted. I agree that an Indonesian breakfast option would be nice to have. Solo female travellers should take note that the location of the rooms is a bit isolated (which is also what makes it so beautiful and serene!) There are only 2 rooms, the family doesn't live onsite, and there aren't any neighbours. If nobody's staying in the second room, you're totally on your own out there. It didn't bother me, but some might be uncomfortable with it, particularly at night. Not a criticism of the property, just a heads up for my solo girls out there! And a few other tiny things, like they could use more electrical outlets in the rooms, etc. Not a big deal :)
A magical little gem nestled at the back of some traditional Balinese family compounds, and right on the edge of paradise! One really could just sit and stare at the view all day, listening to the birds and cicadas and watching the light change. Large, clean and comfortable room in extremely quiet and peaceful surroundings. Yudi (sp?) and his family are all lovely. He went above and beyond on the day I arrived, taking me into 'town' on his scooter so I could buy something that wasn't readily available close by. The small inconveniences listed below tend to melt away in the overall context of how lovely the location is. Overall, incredible value for the money. You won't regret it!

Germanythe not-so-good: * accessibility: the alleyway leading to the place was a motorbike-only challenge, not for the faint of heart! * bugs & critters: being surrounded by nature meant sharing your space with various creepy crawlies. not for the squeamish! * bathroom: the outdoor bathroom wasn't the cleanest and got soaked during rain. * amenities: aircon wasn't powerful enough, and wifi was a bit weak.
this little homestay was exactly as advertised: budget-friendly, private, and right in the heart of sidemen. the balcony view was insane - rice fields and mountains stretching as far as the eye could see. amazing! the good: * location: tucked away in a quiet corner, perfect for escaping the crowds. * balcony: the star of the show! incredible views, perfect for relaxing and soaking it all in. * room: basic but comfortable, with a comfy bed and a smart tv for movie nights. * privacy: no on-site staff meant complete peace and quiet. overall: if you're on a budget, love stunning views, and don't mind a few insect visitors, this place is a gem. just be prepared for the rustic charm and pack some insect repellent! who would love it: budget travelers, nature lovers, adventurers who should skip it: luxury seekers, clean freaks, anyone with a phobia of creepy crawlies

AustraliaThere was no refrigerator in the room so you couldn't keep drinks cold, each time you wanted something it was walking time. The TV had no connection to anything unless you had your own accounts to log into (only YouTube freely accessible). No local tv channels either. Room needed a repainting. No lockbox or safe in the room.
The view was amazing. Good air-conditioning. The location was very private, overlooking the farming area in the valley. The room had an outdoor toilet and shower which I found novelty pleasant. Room had good curtains, gotta love a dark room for afternoon naps. Breakfast was delicious, I recommend the veg omelet. 'Nana's Pool & Bar' had the best sweet and sour chicken I've ever had. Also the Nasi Campur from Beauty cafe was extremely tasty.

United StatesThe bathroom is open which is great, however the toilet isn’t completely covered so we got wet when it rained. Also, it didn’t bother me, but there were creepy crawlies (slugs, spiders, lizards) in the bathroom, especially at night.
The room is at the end of an alley and has an incredible view. The included breakfast was nice but the service was very slow, so plan accordingly. There are good restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk or a 3 minute scooter ride. Overall, a good stay.
