Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaI didn't realise when I booked the room that we didn't have window we could see out of or somewhere to sit outside of our room. I think that there are only 2 rooms like this at the hotel. Would definitely stay again and book a pool balcony room.
Great location, very clean and tidy, lovely friendly staff. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices.

AustraliaThe property was immaculate with nice rooms, good location and nice facilities. It is not the fault of the property but be warned. It is on a main road and 50m away is the "chill bar". It is a bit of a hangout for tattooed bingtang singlet wearers and has live music every night it seems. Be prepared to listen to whatever the bands playing, in your room, till at least 11pm

AustraliaIt's just a little thing - it would have been useful to know when the scuba divers were going to occupy the pool. There were maybe 7 instructors/ learn to be divers in the pool 2 days of the 4 days we were there so the pool lost some of its appeal on those days. We were told we could go in the pool which we did so it was still available. We can appreciate that it's economal for Akaya to have the dual use of the pool.
This is the perfect place to stay if you want to learn to scuba dive and the front reception shares the area with a dive business including all the gear that's required. It's a good location to get around on foot, near good cafes and restaurants and any easy walk to the beach. There is a little cafe where you can have breakfast or food delivered poolside which was great. Blue Bird taxis easy to pick up and get about if you want to travel about. The pool was warm and deep. There was a good number of lounges by the pool and all the units on the lower ground had comfortable cane chairs on their balconies. There were no mosquitos.

AustraliaHubby didn’t like the bed, it was a bit hard for his poor old withered back!
Lovely little hotel, clean and modern with happy smiling staff. The cafe served delicious breakfast. Artesedana supermarket only 100 metres away and plenty of restaurants close by. 5 minute walk to the beach.

AustraliaRoom service from the cafe.
The reception staff are super helpful and greet you with a smile every time. They will assist with anything they can. I found the bed a little hard so they immediately added a bed topper upon request, and provided me with an adaptor that fit the third earthing plug to charge my laptop. The room was kept spotless my entire 5 night stay and 2 bottles of water provided daily. I found that O needed 4 bottles so purchased 2 more for 20k each. They are able to be refilled at the water station inside the shop. Staff helped me use the Gojek app to order food when it was raining and I was unwell. They really made me feel cared for. Room service from the cafe was supposed to be open until 9pm, but when I rang at 8pm nobody answered and the restaurant appeared to be closed. I needed coconut water for my ever worsening cold and upset tummy. I managed to get one for breakfast instead. The cafe also makes a delicious savoury rice porridge "bubur", a type of congee. I preferred it without the little nuts on top, and was able to add soya sauce and fresh chillies to taste. (Watch out for the super spicy ones!) The eggs Benny on a potato rosti (hash brown) was delicious too, as was their fresh bass with potato mash and a heart-warming sweet vinigarette. A perfect light meal. during recovery. The iced coffees (kopi es) was refreshing and I enjoyed their tiny jugs of sugar syrup. The neighbours were mostly fellow Aussies and often up for a chat over the private balcony wall. The location is perfect for a walk to the beach, restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets, warungs and cinema at the Icon shopping centre. There is even yoga classes and fabulous treatments at Koa Shala spa, literally just opposite the hotel. No need for anything more. The pool was my favourite place to swim, and don't feel put off jumping in when a dive class is in progress. They are only too heppy to share. I'll definitely be back.

AustraliaNothing to dislike. A very nice quiet, clean and pretty place. Very comfortable too.
The staff and location of the property were awesome. The rooms newly renovated and clean. The beautiful essential oils toiletries and nice boutique bottled water were a nice touch! Pool delightful although it did get taken over by divers learning scuba diving at times. Not a complaint at all but something to be aware of. Breakfast was nice.

IndonesiaThis was the second stay at the Akaya. The first was when they first opened. It was pleasing to see they had kept the maintenance up and everything was fresh and clean. The lighting in the room and bathroom was great compared to most dimmed lighting in Bali accommodation. The food at the Akaya Cafe is delicious and the coffee amazing. The staff speak English and are so friendly and helpful. This hotel is highly recommended, excellent location and value for money.
