We visited during the rainy season so maybe the hotel wasn’t as well maintained. There was often a faint smell of sewerage outside our room. And the canvas on the Tentage showed some wear and tear (mould?) and could do we a good cleaning. That being said, it’s glamping and we had warm water and a comfortable bed.

Location and views are very nice and the trees add welcome shade in the afternoons which many newer properties lack. A lovely setting. The restaurant is the best you can find on premise and was a big reason we booked.

Not their fault but there were soooo many flies! Maybe they could invest in some insect incense sticks and large fans to keep the flies away. Having spoken to the locals this has been an issue in the whole area for a few years so they could do with something a bit more radical to keep them away - or offer to sit inside while you eat?!

Stunning views of Mount Batur and the lake. The tents were super comfy and all the land was neatly kept and beautifully done. Facilities were great and everything was clean. Very happy overall.

Breakfast was included however it only included 4 items and didn’t include the majority of the actually breakfast menu. Flys were a constant problem during the day and there didn’t seem to be any measures in place such a bug spray etc in order to minimise the issue.

Views of the mountain and lake were stunning

The mattress protector was stained and mouldy but I must admit they changed all the bedding and was very apologetic

    The view. Was awesome

Stay Away. This is NOT a proper Glamping experience.

Sigh. Where do I begin. I am still traumatized from this experience. 1. The flies. There was in insane amount of flies. EVERYWHERE. Locals tell us it is the volcanic soil and vegetation that is in season currently that is causing it...but..being a Glamping site, I think there could have been effort to install an electronic fly zapper or something to help make our stay better. ( look at my pictures for the flies trapped on glue at the restaurant and flies all over our shoes) 2. The crazy amount of stairs to our tent (we stayed at GEGE tents). It was steep steps down and steep step up. (look at the picture of the uneven steps I uploaded!) We were so thankful it didn't rain when we were there because then, the steps would have been very dangerous. So if you are perverse to steps, STAY AWAY please. Also, we had a friend who booked Abing tents, which were bigger..but the toilet although en-suite was downstairs of their tent...so more steep steps! And this friend of ours came down with food poisoning while we were there...so multiple trips up and down to go the toilet...in the dark..at night..with steep steps! NO! 3. The dampness in the tents. I mean, this place is quite basic to be considered a Glamping site. We didn't have fans in our tents. And when we requested, they said that GEGE camps have no fan provided. So it was damp inside and musky. For fresh air, we needed to step out. But if we stepped out, we were attacked by flies! So what can we do? We just left the tent in the afternoons when it was unbearable and hung out at the cafes on the top of Kintamani, that overlook the mountains. We only returned when it was darker and colder. I mean, we were hoping to hang out at the restaurant. But that had flies too. Oh dear oh dear. What an unfortunate experience. Please, do improve.

The views of Gunung Batur and Gunung Agung. The shower also had good water pressure for a glamping site. And the staff who helped carried our bags up and down the steps to our campsite were a godsend.

Breakfast was okay. At first sight everything looks good and clean, but after a while we noticed some finishing touches missed here and there.

The view is amazing, the tents and facilities were good. We had a more private tent with its own shower, toilet and bathub. Would recommend this if you want some more privacy. However the other accommodations looked very cozy as well! The bonfire at night was a nice bonus.

It is just not maintained at all. What you see in the pictures and the reality is just too far. Seems like the management doesn’t care of maintaining a beautiful property. Everything is just left behind.

    The staff and the views
