Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaIt is in the midle of the jungle, so expect some noises during the night (frogs, monkeys :) ), but it is all part of the experience!
The location is walking distance to Ubud center and Monkey forest! The resort is authentic, lush, well maintained, with big rooms and quiet. Staff is friendly and the breakfast is plenty and delicious. Definitely good value for the money!

FranceI was there in a rainy day, and all the frogs where having a conference beside our villa. Be prepared to have some natural noise the whole night

Beautiful location, surrounded by nature. Nice spacious room and loved the large enclosed balcony and four post bed. Pool is gorgeous and loved watching the squirrels in the trees. Close to monkey forest and cool to see them along the path behind the shops.

The location was good, with shops and restaurants close by. The rooms were very large, clean and comfortable! The outdoor bathroom was so special! The staff were amazing! We arrived by before check-in but they had already prepared our room. They were very supportive and helpful. Room service was delicious and decently priced.

SpainFor people that stay more than a few days the menu for breakfast and lunch/dinner is getting to short because of lack of new choices.
Really nice, very warm & welcoming staff. The rooms are in the middle of a precious tropical garden, which can be enjoyed from a private terrace. What I liked a lot were the flowers that they left in several spots of the room. The atmosphere is very intimate as you barely see other guests. The pool is a place where to relax and enjoy the nature. We stayed for quite a long time but still it was difficult to leave.

Alam Shanti was wonderful. An easy walk to the monkey forest, out of the hustle bustle of ubud in a nearby village, but easily walkable into town. Plenty of good cafes nearby. The sister restaurant Laka leke is definitely worth a visit - beautiful setting with rice field backdrop and a cute swing for kids..and amazing food. This is an authentic experience that I’d highly recommend. Food delivered to the room was outstanding and authentic. Staff were wonderful.

SlovakiaTHIS was the BEST accomodation in whole Bali for it’s authenticity, calm surroundings and monkeys visiting us every morning. Even in comparison with 2-3x more expensive accomodations we had - Alam Shanti was absolutely the winner. We will definitelly return. Thank you!

AustraliaAlam Shanti is such a thoughtfully designed property. The layout, the room size and decor is sublime. It was our third stay in the room Gangga and we were as happy as first 2 visits. The room is huge, lovely big outdoor balcony to enjoy the jungle and relax, the outdoor bathroom is very well put together and the whole lot is completed by beautiful traditional Balinese decorations. Also very happy about the refillable toiletries and water, so no plastic waste at all 👏👏👏👏👏 private pool is very large and lovely. Staff were all so friendly and helpful, very much what we love about Bali and it’s people. Can wholeheartedly recommend Alam Shanti. Out of the busy area enough to relax but a short walk if you want the shopping . There are enough restaurants on the Alam Shanti side of the monkey forest that you can stay and be satisfied. Surrounding area is very pretty with traditional architecture and village life.

AustraliaA bit further from ubud centre. But still has plenty of restaurants within walking distance. If need to go to ubud centre, need a transport , or have to walk next to busy traffic (not much footpath here)
Tranquil place, very relaxing. Very helpful staff. Great view of jungles from family room deck. It had rained for half a day when we stayed, but we enjoyed just watching monkeys from a distance. Staff are attentive, and great with kids.

United KingdomThe place is marketed as a quiet oasis tucked away from the hustle of Ubud, and whilst it is in a quieter part of Ubud, most nights we could hear the bands playing in the bar just in front of the property. Our room was on one edge of the hotel complex (most are) bustled up against neighbouring properties and we could hear the family would livestream in the property behind us a lot of the time. As far as I could see the only villas that this wasn’t the case for were the ones with the private pool. The location is, in general, quieter than central Ubud but it’s somehow neither close enough to be convenient or far enough out to be truly secluded and relaxing. The pool, featured prominently on their listing, is part of a private villa (so not available to all guests) and the ‘public pool’ is separate to the hotel complex on the other side of the road.
The staff were incredibly friendly and the rooms are largely and comfy. The sprawling format of the hotel complex made it feel quite private, despite noise from neighbouring properties and bars/restaurants.
