Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomBrilliant, quiet and relaxing location. Our expectations for Bali were already high and the hotel managed to surpass them. It's a gem of a hotel, tucked away in a less hectic part of the island. If you're looking for a few superbly relaxing days near the beach, away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud or Cangu, look no further.

United StatesThe actual location of the resort was far from any tourist areas. It takes 2 hours from airport to get to location. At night, the road is narrow and dark.
The facility and its staff were awesome. Heavy rains entered our room one night; and flooded up to the bed. (this was not the fault of the facility). Food at Lily by the Sea was good (some choices were bland) but staff was great. Mie Goreng (free breakfast) was our favorite. The green mango and papaya/prawn salad was delicious!

IndiaIt is located in a very remote location and only nearby touristic place is Tanah Lot. I’d recommend it if you just wanna relax in quiet & isolated place.
Resort is built just by the black sand beach which is easily accessible from within and offers great views & feels very peaceful. Also resort is very well maintained and nicely organised with great services & facilities. And variety of options for dining.

PolandRooms are a bit worn out. Should be refurbished.
It was my second stay in Amarta. Although I think the rooms should be refurbished the stay was wonderful. It is a very palmful place, with nice pool and a beach where you can have your early morning walk. The hotel is really far away from anything important for the tourists (restaurants, bars, etc) - so it is definitely a place for people who enjoy the silence.

Amarta Beach Retreat is a truly idyllic escape. The beautifully manicured gardens and stunning ocean views create a serene, private ambiance, especially with only 20 villas or rooms available. We felt as though we had the entire place to ourselves, making it the perfect destination for total relaxation. Located about two hours from Denpasar Airport, this retreat offers the chance to disconnect and unwind in a remote yet cosy paradise. We loved spending our days lounging by the inviting pools, fully embracing the art of doing nothing. The on-site restaurant was excellent, offering a variety of delicious local dishes. Favorites like soto ayam and mie goreng were perfectly prepared, and the attentive staff made our dining experiences unforgettable. A special mention to Aditya and Tia, who went above and beyond to make meal times even more enjoyable. The massages at the retreat were exceptional and added to the overall sense of rejuvenation we experienced here. If your idea of a perfect getaway is staying in a peaceful, secluded location with warm hospitality and breathtaking surroundings, Amarta Beach Retreat comes highly recommended. It’s the kind of place where you leave feeling truly refreshed and reconnected.

AustraliaIf there is any negative it is that it is approximately 2 Hours car drive from the airport, but the flipside is that you are far enough out of the city to enjoy regional lifestyle and a perfect place to relax. The most relaxing 7 days I have ever had.
The food was excellent and provided many options from the Lily Restaurant. The staff were fantastic and extremely courteous at all times providing a great vibe around the resort. There are 2 pools and a spa which provide plenty of options to sit back and relax.

GermanyCarpet could've been cleaner. The area really isnt close to anything. Anyhow drivers can still find you for pick-up. Many mosquitos in the room.
Rooms very comfortable with a wonderful view of the coast. The food was excellent, swimming pools clean and the staff was always friendly and attentive. The view is amazing and the beach is inviting for long walks. To watch the sunset is a wonderful experience as well.

AustraliaThe showers went a little hot and cold (nothing huge but a little frustrating). Laundry prices were very high if you needed this service. Most meals at Lily's were good, probably an 8/10 but not the best we've had in Bali. All the staff were lovely though. In the villa we had a hotel being built near us, so everyone could see us and we could hear the guys working. Didn't bother us but they did play some funny Balinese music. Not Amartas fault at all but could annoy some people. The rate they were putting up roofs though, the hotel will be finished soon 🤣
We stayed in the 3 bedroom Villa. Friendly staff, comfy beds, the breakfast included was great and included fresh pastries from the on-site bakery, which were lovely. We always got plenty of towels, water and the pools were very clean. They offered kids massages at the spa, and whilst not cheap, both of our kids said it was a holiday highlight. It's very out of the way, so not ideal if you want to shop etc but we didn't get hassled for anything, which was perfect! We'd been to Ubud and Nusa Penida exploring a lot so we wanted 4 nights of relaxing, enjoying the climate and being in one spot and this was 10/10 for that.

PolandFood and drinks were expensive 20% more expensive vs other hotels where we stopped on Bali (all 5*). Smell near restaurant is not good there is a neighbour (think local family) who burned plastic during our stay. It would be good also if you think about kids there is no area for them.
Perfect location, beautiful black beach, good pools with big jacuzzi, good quality spa - best massage on Bali. Food was also delicious. Villa itself was big, but it was visible that in was under heavy usage. There is a lot of attraction around - quad / jeep tours, traditional Bali instruments factory in neighbouring village.

FranceIt appears that the hotel is far from the partying places and there is not much to do around but this relaxing setting is what we were looking for as a family with a toddler. We only wish we had a playground or playroom for our toddler.
We loved this place and we wish we could stay longer. A human-size hotel with beautiful views, with well-designed outside spaces (two pools, jacuzzi, lounge space), very good restaurant and a very calm, relaxing setting. We woke-up to the sound of the ocean!

Hong KongLeaving!
It’s isolated. Which is why it’s a great retreat. I loved my room with the rolling lawns before it, leading down to the sea. Loved hearing the ocean at night. Really enjoyed the multiple places in the resort where I could spend time… Two swimming pools, different open area seating and lounging areas, and my room terrace. Menu was simple but tasty with local and western options, and very affordable. Room was spacious, bed comfortable never felt I was living up rules or time restrictions. Spa is lovely and my massage was very very good.
