Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaFirstly it's Amed.... Location...done a dirty winding partly line walking lane about 150 metres... But once there.. it's beach front. Bed is terrible. Worst in 40 plus hotels in bali I've stayed in. Bathroom smelt Pool is nice. Bar staff are great Receptionist has basic English only... Live music was good. Just need a good clean and tidy of the lane way and some staff training ( yes I understand the laneway is communal)

ThailandFirst time to Bali and I am so glad that Med Beach Resort was my first stay. A welcoming atmosphere and a great location, with a comfortable bed. Its only a small group of rooms and has a great restaurant and pool. Nice snorkelling a 10min walk up the beach. Easygoing and great service.

AustraliaTrying to find it down a dark alley at night when a snake slid past me was disconcerting Having the alley lit would make all the difference I didn’t sit on the beach or go in the water because of the rubbish, not the properties fault but they could do better out the front of their patch
Was in a lovely spot on the beach Rooms were clean and basic as was the bathroom Breakfast was good Pool was good Gardens were nice

AustraliaYou had to go through a narrow lane with back yards, chickens and dogs to get there. The steps to the top level room were very steep and the door didn’t close well from the outside, allowing mosquitoes into the room. The bed was squeaky. The location was far from the Blue Earth Village (40min walk) which I wanted to visit more frequently for yoga. The taxi offered by the hotel was quite expensive, 200,000R just to go a distance of 7km.
I like that the property was just on the beach, my room had absolutely see view and I could hear the ocean from bed and loved sitting on the balcony The cafe/restaurant was on the beach too My room was spacious and clean Massage was available on the sun beds The pool was great, even though small, still big enough for some laps

UkraineIt would be helpful to have an extra trash bin in the room, as the only one was in the bathroom, which was a bit inconvenient to access since the door locks from the top. Also, it would be nice to refill the shower gel or at least provide some liquid soap. The towels were dirty, as was the bedding, which probably isn’t changed very often. During heavy rain, water leaks through the ceiling in the shower area, so you kind of take two showers at once! These are probably just small things, and overall, considering the price, the service, location, and amenities make sense — though the price still feels a bit on the high side due to this.
This is a beautiful place with an incredible ocean view right from the room. The food is very tasty with a wide variety of dishes. The staff is friendly and willing to help. The room is comfortable enough for the price. Also amazing live music in the evening. Lovely atmosphere for sure.

AustraliaYou walked down a laneway past all local houses which was fine. They were all very friendly only thing was each family owned a few dogs and roosters. Most times the dogs were ok.
It was right on the beachfront Had a really good vibe in the resort

New ZealandWe thankfully had a mosquito net but a few mosquitos in the room. As the room isn’t super insulated during the floor tiles got wet from the aircon temp on them vs the day temp heat outside (tiles got soaked) easy enough to mop up with a towel. Locating the property was difficult as there isn’t clear signage showing the entry.
That the accomodation was rite on the beach, no need to pay beach fees. Staff member arranged local fisherman to take us snorkelling. Small boat so was nice as was just the three of us and you can control the length of time you want to stay at each spot. The team helped communicate with local driver as we had left a key in another bag and needed to coordinate getting it back. Awesome that you have pool towels and normal ones.

IndiaThe rooms are very basic, and the access is through a narrow alleyway…but since we planned to spend most of our time outdoors this was not a problem for us.
The location of this property is amazing! The resort is small, but has a pool and the beach is right in front of the property. The staff are super friendly and went out of their way to help us. The lunch we ordered was also very nice. There are nice cafes around the property for options

CanadaConstruction going on next door at the moment. Wasn’t overly loud though and didn’t start too early. We barely noticed it
Property is right on the beach. Pool overlooks the beach. Our room overlooked the pool and the beach! Staff were so friendly and super accommodating. Able to help with booking all kinds of activities. Food and drinks were very good! There was live music one evening right on the beach at the beach bar/restaurant. When the tide is good and water is clear there is a small reef just in front of the hotel with lots of fish! Water was often calm and clear!

United KingdomBeach was a bit dirty (could be cleaned up more) and in general some things are a bit old / run down -- e.g. towels, cushions, aircon leaking (we mentioned and they said they'd fix)
Nice location overlooking the ocean, friendly people, lovely pool, good breakfast.

PolandI had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The room was clean, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the location was conveniently close to the beach. I am especially grateful to a staff member named Ena, whom I met several times during my stay. Ena kindly showed me some of the best snorkeling spots in Amed, making my trip truly unforgettable. Thank you, Ena!

AustraliaWe had an ocean front room which was fabulous. Stairs leading up to the room were steep though. Fine for us but if you have mobility issues ask for ground floor.
Loved every part of it. Amed has stole out heart. We were right on the water. Staff were wonderful. Facilities wonderful. It is now our first choice for a Bali visit.

ItalyI hated to walk the small path leading to the hotel. I fell uncomfortable in the evening because it was dark. I had to use my phone to have light. Please install some lights.
I loved my room and the pool area and I had really great food in the bar/restaurant. The staff is very friendly.

New ZealandAs has been mentioned in previous comments there’s a lot of stray dogs all around the hotel, in the alleyway going up to the hotel and at the restaurant. And a bloody rooster that crows multiple times at all times of day. The dogs come and lie down next to the table you’re eating at which I didn’t find the most hygienic. The flies were so annoying too but not much anyone could do about it during the rainy season besides keeping the stray dogs and chickens out of the restaurant. I had my laundry done but it didn’t smell fresh or clean when I got it back. It was clean, just didn’t have a nice laundry smell, smelled damp. The hotel is all the way at the end of an alleyway that can be a bit dark at night and gets flooded when it rains. Same for the parking lot that’s closest to the hotel, also flooded when it rained. Unfortunately for me I was there in December during the rainy reason and the weather was super wet 😞 not much the hotel could have done about it. The room was big and good, the AC worked well but there was a leak from the ceiling in the bathroom and a constant drip when it rained which made going to the toilet a bit wet. I got covered in bites all around my ankles and legs when I was there too, not sure where that came from but some bites were clearly fresh when I woke up one morning so I think the bed could have been changed more often maybe.
The property has a lot of potential. It’s got a lovely pool just by the beach, a restaurant that offers western food and good breakfast. The staff are so lovely, very accommodating, they can do laundry too for 25.000idr/kg. The room is made everyday too and the hotel is very central in Amed, you can walk everywhere from there.

NetherlandsWe had a room on the 1st floor facing the beach. Beautiful ocean view however there’s a lot of wind at night which makes the doors tremble and making a lot of noise. Not recommended if you’re a light sleeper. Also not a lot of privacy in general.
Right at the beach. Amazing boat trip with staff!
