Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyWe only stayed a night and I wish I could have stayed longer. The owner was really friendly and he even helped us organize a tour for a good price. I can only recommend it. The food was amazing too. I miss it. The only thing that is kinda bad is that you can hear the mosque but that is everywhere in Tetebatu, don't forget that you have to consider it. The view was amazing! Coming back one day

ItalyA fan in the ceiling of our bungalow.
Ariel Homestay is sorrounded in vital ricepaddys, vegatable- fields and lush green vegetation. The friendlyness and welcoming of our Host and his family is overwhelming, making our stay a sweet memory! The small, remote village of Tete Batu is clean, vibrant with people bussy working in the fields, welcoming tourists. Our Host brought us on a 4 hour unforgettable hike on small, hidden tracks,,traversing ricepaddys and rainforest, home to endiguas black monkeys, finishing with a cool bath below the waterfall. Breakfest delicuas and healhy, local specialitys provided for lunch!

United StatesWiFi was meh (common in Indonesia). Data on phone works better. In that area a rice terrace view from your bungalow would be amazing. This one didn’t quite have it.
Room was clean. There was hot water. The food was AMAZING with great portions. They should run a cooking class!! Close/walking distance to beautiful rice fields and Tetebatu waterfall and are happy to do a tour (but you could do it on your own easily too). Nice quiet village. The friendly owner and his family made the place. So genuinely friendly. Definitely recommend!

PolandThere was some mice on the roof of the bungalow at night and loud scratching distracted sleeping, but the owner said he will take care of them....
Great stay with a lovely, welcoming family. Rice terraces walking tour with them recommended! If you are not looking for a 5-star hotel but an authentic experience, this is the place. Huge plus for hot shower with decent pressure.

IndonesiaIf you drive here, the roads do not match Google maps and the conditions are a bit poor!
A lovely little homestay in the village with a very friendly host family and comfy rooms. Anya (and his son) can help guide you around the area too, to the waterfalls, monkey forest etc. Their home-cooked food is delicious!! I would definitely stay there again for a peaceful break in the countryside.

We had the opportunity to stay at Ariel's bungalows and were extremely satisfied with our experience. The bungalows are very clean and spacious. The property is surrounded by lush greenery and is just a short walk from the rice fields and the monkey forest. The cuisine is excellent. A special thanks to Udin, the driver hired by the hotel for our pick-up at the port, who turned out to be the best guide we could have asked for in all of Lombok.

United KingdomWe had an amazing stay at Ariel Bungalows. Anya and his family are so kind and welcoming. The food was always delicious and the surroundings are so beautiful. We did the walking tour with Anya and it was great - he knows so many people in the local area so we could stop and help harvest the rice, have local coffee etc. Our stay was my highlight of our time in Indonesia. The room is simple but comfortable and clean. The shower is hot. After being in the very hot humid Gili islands we were worried about not having aircon but the temperature in Tetebatu is very nice and cool in the evening. There are also not many mosquitos.

HungaryAriel bungalow is marvellous, Tetebatu is the paradise on Earth. The bungalows are nice nad friendly in the middle of the looming garden. Our host Anya provided us with everything local food, guiding and transfer anywhere we wanted to go. Anya and his family was very helpful and flexible on any request. We were travelling in the wet season during ramadan but these only made our journey even more exciting and interesting. There was small amount of rain for a short period that just made the temperature more comfortable.
