Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere needs to be another guest area other than the restaurant dining areas on ground floor. A floor devoted to a cafe with window views and plants and comfortable seating otherwise it is just too minimal! Sterile and restrictive for relaxation on the property. Positives were beautiful boho chinese style furnishings and features. And free laundry facility. Thank you david.dowling@rocketmail.com

EgyptThe walls are kinda thin so you hear a bit of action during the day but nothing at night anyway.
Everything; the ambiance and chinese influenced interior, the cleanliness and the pleasant light scent in the reception, friendly kind staff and everything really. Location is excellent, in a street lined with local food stalls and cafés, few minutes walk to the bus. The room itself is perfect, comfy bed, clean bathroom and the presence of Tong House restaurant is convenient. The breakfast was amazing! Asian cuisine as well as some western options like toast, eggs, pastry and spreads. One of the staff, was a lovely lady called Menden, she was very helpful and friendly. Overall, I'd definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel.

An oasis in the middle of city street life! An excellent place to stay in Jakarta, located in the very center, very convenient for those who came to apply for a visa to the USA. The hotel is located on the busiest street with street food, you can immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the city! The rooms are very clean and comfortable, the staff works great and always smiles! They will always greet you at the entrance, help you with parking, and even accompany you with an umbrella if it’s raining! The breakfasts are good and the Chinese restaurant in the hotel offers a varied and delicious menu! I recommend it to all guests of Jakarta!

Great base in Menteng area. At night the streets turn into an open air night market with food stalls. Several malls in area. Nice gym. Good value for money.

MalaysiaLocation-wise, this place is quite a hassle to get through in the night with smoke pollution from the bit-too lively night markets as well as motorcycles and cars drive along the road right next to the hotels entrance. It also limits the size of many different rooms and services inside of the hotel because of the location. Nonetheless, a great place to stay if longing for the yummy night market foods and nearby Sarinah Mall.
I really loved the atmosphere and style the hotel has put on for show in order to make this hotel look literally like one of a kind. In my many years of travelling, I have never seen a hotel decorated as uniquely tailored for it’s own lavish, authentic ways. Although the rooms I would say are quite small, it didn’t disappoint with its amenities, likr a SMART TV and a small JBL speaker (not sure if its in all the rooms). Services are good, nothing too extravagant though compared to other hotels.

CroatiaThe downsides include small, cramped rooms without a minibar or a desk, except in the most expensive room category. Despite these drawbacks, the reasonable nightly rate makes the overall value exceed the investment.
I recently stayed at this city hotel in Jakarta for 5 nights, and overall, it was a solid experience. Located in one of the best streets for local food, the hotel offers a clean environment with a friendly atmosphere. The staff is exceptionally courteous, and the on-site Chinese restaurant is fantastic. The self-service laundry room proves to be quite convenient. However, the hotel lacks a spa and pool, making it more suitable for a brief stay.

IndonesiaI had to work with my laptop in bed. Maybe the chair in the bedroom could've been ergonomically designed to suit the business travelers better. I think that's the only thing I didn't like. The rest is good.
The location is strategic: we can find cafe, street food, convenience store. The interior design is beautiful also, and I love the fragrance of the lobby/room (jasmine, maybe?). The bed is comfortable, the room is very clean and tidy.

MalaysiaWas supposed to be given a non smoking room on 2nd floor the first night. Smelled of smoke when we walked in. Got worse throughout the night. Requested to change second night onwards. Much better. No fridge in room. Room size is a little cramped. Breakfast is average.
Location. Many eateries just outside of hotel. Close to Sarinah. Chinese theme is interesting. Quite beautiful and captivating. Room matches picture. Bed is super comfy. Clean. Staff is very attentive.

I have stayed in Ashley Tang numerous times now and you can find my reviews of my earlier stays. What can I add ? Ashley Tang is centrally located near Sarinah mall. This mall is completely renovated and has lot s of restaurants all with an Indonesian cuisine. Jalan Agus Salim is a busy street in nighttime because of the many foodstalls on the road. It s easy to get some good food (cheap) outside the hotel. The hotel is as I have described in my earlier reviews. It s clean, has a comfortable bed, a great shower and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is " Asian style " and for European guests you have to get used to that. Quality wise it is an excellent breakfast. I like to walk to Grand Indonesia Mall and Plaza Indonesia Mall wich is at a 15 min walk. You can use the underpass so its a comfortable walk for half the distance.

IndonesiaThe neatly folded (and supposedly washed) towels in the bathroom stank of cigarette smoke. My friend and I are both non-smokers so this was very off-putting. Food choices at breakfast were limited: the buffet breakfast basically consisted of fried rice and noodles, scrambled eggs, sausage, a small salad bar, and chopped fruit. We had a light meal and then went out for something more interesting and satisfying after that.
The main draw is the excellent location on Jalan Sabang, a destination for street food and regional Indonesian dishes that really comes alive at night. Ashley Tang Menteng is within walking distance of sights like the Sarinah department store and the park surrounding the National Monument, as well as public transportation (The Bundaran HI MRT station is less than 15 minutes away). You'll also find a Japanese-oriented supermarket named Papaya Fresh Gallery right across the street. We appreciated the newness of the hotel and its Chinese-inspired contemporary design. The shower and A/C worked well, beds were comfortable, and it was great to watch Netflix on the flat-screen TV for our after-dinner entertainment.
