The bathrooms and pool weren’t very clean. Workers sat to the side of our rooms when they were on break talking loudly which came straight into the bedrooms.

True to it's name, it is really built like a castle and has a creek flowing at the back. I must hand it to the owner/creator, Arthur Carmazzi, for making it this way. The entire setting is very beautiful and spooky like some Harry Potter set. The staff is well trained. The rooms are a delight to be in... spacious, comfy and have everything you'd need. The small pool next to the rooms is another highlight.

Lots of creepy crawlies in the bathroom and room because bathroom open to the outdoors. Also a very strong bad odour in the bathroom

Bad WiFi, difficult rules for food ordering (breakfast etc), no real gym room - just some weights. No other equipment Long steep way up and down to the car so it will not suit people with joints/bones problems

Service was very slow, menu average, bathroom in garden view room always wet when it rains as it's an outdoor type bathroom with holes in the roof so the toilet was always wet. Being there as a family means the bathroom is needed to change clothes after shower, etc. but due to the leaky roof there is no where dry to put your clothes

An amazing spot surrounded of nature by a river and with friendly staff and living in wood cabins. Healthy food and amazing spa by the jungle. No proper blinds or curtains so we didn't sleep very well The hot tub didn't look very welcoming Barely any hot water in the shower, it was going cold after 2 minutes

Breakfast was very poor. If you have trouble with sleep, this is not the place for you. Lots of frogs and rain faling. It is not their falt of course but you hear evrything.

Unique, beautiful art and furniture pieces, it is clear a lot of thought and love has gone into these Villas and the whole concept. The pools and grounds, the various paths and nooks everywhere. Room service daily, fast service on the room App. The massages & facials had by the river setting were superb, as was the cupping session.

Wi-fi didn’t work as it was kept disappearing internationally. TV never worked at all. Had missing jet spray in toilet. Pathway lighting not sufficient in night.

The main bed was quite grand looking although a bit musty, possibly just due to the amount of rain. We also thought having to use an app to order anything was very impersonal and quite strange given the show seem to be about technology taking over your life.

The whole place was very imaginatively designed. There was plenty to do for kids such as secret rooms, pool table, swimming pools, table soccer, etc . It was full of interesting items to look at and the show on site was good for kids to join in. The rooms are very unique, with grand feel to them. We would definitely stay again as it is good for kids

I was in Sunset Room. One of the two rooms in the main hotel lobby/library area. Any time someone would shut the door to the other room, it was very loud. The guests were in and out all night which made it difficult to sleep.

This is a unique, very special place. Unlike any accommodation I have ever been to. Theres a hot bath in a cave as well as a cold bath and three level pool overlooking the river. Also another pool at the main hotel. They offer pool, fencing, archery, and some other things as activities. Theres a dinner show twice a week, Lemuria The Lost City. The hotel is full of unusual pieces. You need to see it. They have en extensive vegetarian menu and some vegan options. You are able to have your meals at the river, the Lost City set, floating in the pools, on your balcony, in the library, in the Grotto, any magical place they offer. There are two cats and 7 kittens for animal lovers like me 💖🤍💜🐱😸🐈

Building work that made our stay noisier , and was constant for 2 days, so we had to go out which was unplanned. Lots of steps! Food was sometime cold

Avalon has alot of stairs so be prepared for that

Avalon is a wonderful place. Beautiful gardens, interesting buildings & features. Rooms are vintage & ancient inspired decore. This place is really a wonder. It's situated right next to a little running river. The food was delicious & at a reasonable price. The beds are comfy & staff is friendly.

Our suite was separated by a common door from another suite and you could hear everything the neighbors were doing. The frogs in the pond near the room also kept me awake at night with their croaking.

Authentic hotel, the territory is simply magical, there is a river nearby, a beautiful garden, several swimming pools. The lobby design is amazing, bookshelves with souvenirs from all over the world and other unusual interesting pieces of furniture. Hotel has own SPA. Convenient hotel app where you could order food, spa procedures, laundry.
