I first stayed at Bakung Sari 40+ years ago, when it was 2 storey bamboo, but hadn't stayed for about 15 years. I couldn't get a room my usual hotel, Ohana just around the corner, on short notice after a flight cancellation, and BS was available. I was only there for 10 hours. It's now an old hotel, dated, and badly in need of renovation/maintenance, but at the price, acceptable for a short stay. Ketut is still in reception, as friendly and helpful as I remembered her. The room was clean, bathroom OK, aircon effective, and wifi fast and reliable. The gardens are lush and add greatly to the ambience of the hotel.

United KingdomThe sheets and especially the towels, smelled of damp, despite being changed daily. The bathroom was in a very bad state - flies and ants everywhere. The wardrobe was unusable, about to collapse. There was a huge gap between the front door and the frame - i could hear all the noise from the corridor. The lighting was poor.
The location was perfect - in the heart of Kuta. The pool was amazing, as well as the breakfast provided. Great garden in traditional Balinese style. The shower was good. The room was cleaned every day , the sheet and the towels are changed daily. The beach was 10min away.

AustraliaThe shower tiles could do with more cleaning, I wore thongs/flip flops as the shower floor never felt clean enough. The bed was a little hard but I prefer that than too soft beds.
The hotel was a good place to stay, it was convenient being close to the beach and the shopping. There were heaps of Warungs and restaurants close by, and hotel restaurant was fine if you didn’t feel like going out. The pool was great, as a solo traveller it was a good place to be able to talk with other guests. The water pressure was so good and it was hot and stayed hot!! The staff were lovely and cleaning staff always willing to go that extra mile.
