Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNo safe in the room
Breakfast was made to order, I was welcomed by the owner who was very polite, responsive to questions and helpful. AC was great & bed extremely comfortable. Helped with organizing transport, places to go & diving company to use .🙏

AustraliaThere was nothing to dislike. Rooms could do with some simple hooks in bathroom and maybe a vanity shelf under the mirror or adjacent.
Breakfast was great. Limited but adequate choice. Welcoming watermelon juice was delicious. Pool was wonderful - smallish but had a wonderful view. The staff were friendly and very helpful and catered for my two year old grandson with big smiles and tolerance😊Good to have a small bar fridge and coffee and tea making facilities.

NetherlandsLocation is quite far from the ‘center’ you need to have a scooter as driver prices are high in Amed compared to other places. The staff is very helpful with that. Bathrooms are quite old and the water coming out of the shower was quite poor
Amazing rooms, very comfy bed, kind staff! We had a wonderful stay over here. Rooms really feels like a hotel.

New ZealandThere wasn’t much to dislike. My water pressure was a bit hit or miss, but it wasn’t much bother to be honest. A fan in the room would be nice.
The staff are amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The location is very good. The view from my balcony was stunning, especially during sunrise and sunsets. Access to the reef and beach is just across the road. Coffee was very good.

ThailandThere's no actual restaurant but instead a kitchen where they make breakfast and a terrace with tables and chairs. However, they did let us hire a local chef who prepared a feast for us using their kitchen. You can also order basic drinks all day. It's hard to stop in a vehicle and unload so just be prepared. You have to carry suitcases up the stairs so probably not for anyone who can't do that.
Friendly and casual staff, not your typical place. The view is great. No restaurant for dinner but the surrounds have interesting places to eat. There is a decent convenience store 100m towards Amed which is not well marked on the map but good to know. The rooms were nice and big. The coast below has snorkling right off the beach and day beds you can rent for about $10. Staff also helped us by taking me in a motorbike to withdraw cash and by calling in a doctor when one of our group was sick.

NetherlandsRooms were ok, good size, only one of the showers wasn't working as it should. Also the power went out several times during showering, which should be solved by pulling new cables according to the staff. Breakfast is included for all guests, but servings are on the smaller side. The pool was not clear and over chlorinated so that our eyes hurt in minutes. This didn't change during our stay. This place has lot's of potential.
The location was great. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. They changed our rooms so we had two room next to each other, which was nice with the kids.

AustraliaLittle bit of road noise but no fault of hotel. Not a lot of seats in pool area.
Great location as you can walk across the road on to the beach and go snorkeling. Plenty of warungs nearby. Rooms are nice too.

PhilippinesNo complaints, but don't keep food in your room or ants will find it.
We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, who helped us with all our needs including delicious meals, our laundry, scooter hire and booked a driver to Seminyak.

United StatesThe price was really expensive compared to the other hotels and I didn't feel like the value was worth the price. It's also convenient going to Lipah beach, however, if you want to go in town where all the restaurants are/dive shops/other places, you have to take a scooter, taxi, etc. There's no Grab. If you don't have your own transportation (scooter), just know it cost around 100,000 rp for one way. Which is quite expensive (in terms of Bali). There is a couple of restaurants walking distance so we frequented those. We ended up staying in town when we wanted to extend. Also - they can be a lot cleaner... I noticed they didn't clean much (and that's all I'll say...) I also like having a concierge when I stay at a hotel/place to ask questions and sometimes it was hard to get any help/recommendations since you communicate to them through WhatsApp.
This place is right across from the beach and is really easy to get to Lipah beach which is nice! The room is spacious, loved having the balcony and ocean view room, and we loved having a couch inside the room too! The local staff were all very very friendly. We had big bags and there's quite a few stairs so it was really nice that they helped carry our luggage. The owner was really accommodating and allowed us to change rooms on the 2nd night so we could have a better ocean view which was really nice of them! The view was beautiful! They were super accommodating allowing us to check out later because I was diving and got back late. The AC worked well, provided free water, hot shower water, mosquito net, and drying rack for bathing suits.

AustraliaFor other travellers, please be mindful that some units require access via a number of stairs and this may be difficult for those with mobility issues. In my opinion, being 50 + years, this hotel is better suited to a younger generation - the hostess (not a Balinese local and name withheld for privacy reasons), likes to entertain in the restaurant / pool area late at night. Loud music and foul language was the order of the day. The Balinese locals who work here were extremely welcoming and provided excellent service. Whilst this hotel is pet friendly (which I love having pets of my own back home), my neighbour’s dog was left unattended and barked incessantly at night. I would suggest that the owner’s implement better controls in this regard.
The location provided reasonably easy access to the best sandy beach in Amed. Lipah beach is highly recommended in this area for swimming and snorkelling with very good restaurants and warungs along the shoreline. My (upgraded) room was spacious, clean, comfortable and had magnificent views of the ocean.

AustraliaWhats not to like!
Fantastic location opposite Lipah Beach with great snorkelling. The rooms are bright and spacious with amazing views from inside and out! The bed is so comfortable and we loved having a day bed inside to laze on. Lovely fluffy bath and pool towels. Nice to have a small pool and sunbeds too. Communication with the owner was always prompt and friendly.

AustraliaBreakfast was simple, as well as restaurant space. We stayed for 3 nights and the room didn´t get made, cleaned. I asked one day and it still didn´t get cleaned which was the only real negative feedback. Maybe make sure you ask them in the morning and make sure they understood!
Excellent communication with the hotel manager (owner?) Amanda. Prompt responses and very helpful with organising all the we needed. Beautiful view from the rooms and all spaces. Excellent location, in front of one of my favourite beaches. Quiet place.

New ZealandWell beyond anyones control ,the roosters in the morning however ,I also loved that it felt part of being in a more rural setting rather than a built up touristy hub.
Breakfast was great and the staff always very keen to help and do their best. We were very well looked after and when we needed some extra things took us to get them on their motorbikes. Also arranged for the doctor to visit Bayu for my sick friend. Very authentic and kind. ( the visiting pet Otter was a hit !)

AustraliaIt was a little way out of the centre but still had some nice restaurants nearby, especially Agung and Coral View cafe on the beach. pillows were a little hard.
Breakfast was fine. Basic but fine. Fresh fruit, pancake or eggs one way or the other. Balinese coffee strong and good, and also had green tea for my wife. Close to great snorkelling.
