Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeThere are many ants, and must close the door with care, if not big bugs will fly inside. That said, I wasn't bitten by any bugs so still ok. There is no toothbrush nor glasses. Nevertheless there are still the basics (water, toilet paper, etc.) There aren't many food options, but the staff is very nice and asked his friends to drive us to a local restaurant nearby.
The hot spring is excellent (slightly disappointed that it is closed at 9pm, but nevertheless it is super comfortable) The king-sized bed is very comfortable. The staff is very nice, kind and helpful. Super good value for money. I would have stayed longer if have more time.

IndonesiaThe shared bathroom is too dark and the mirror really small, but not a big problem. Food in the facility is not cheap, but there is Java Fried Chiken very near by if you are on a low budget. At first, I thought the price for a tent was too high, but it is a pretty comfy for a tent, and you don't need AC in Kintamani as is even chilly there during the night time.
Nice and cozy tent with a comfortable bed inside. The hostel has an amazing pool made of HOT SPRING WATER that you can freely use during your stay, that is the main reason why I would recommend this hostel. There is a trail to Mont Batur just next to the accommodation. The staff is very fun and friendly.

EstoniaI was positively suprised when I arrived to the place. The town itself wasn’t anything special but the hostel was a perfect place where to relax and e joy the nature. The hot springs were just perfect way to really relax after a hike to Batur. The breakfast was delicious and the staff was really friendly. The dorm room was clean and tidy. And you even have warm shower. It is amazing place to take time off and relax!

United KingdomThe bathroom did have a bad drainy smell and the sink was coming away from the wall, so a little maintenance there is needed, hence not giving 10/10. But for the price we paid we were not expecting everything to be perfect so still a very good stay.
Perfect location for our sunrise hike up Mount Batur - no need for any driving in the morning. The guide that the hostel arranged (Wayan) was brilliant. The hot spring pool was amazing with views of the mountains and the staff were super friendly.

IndonesiaThere is only one shower, one toilet and one place to freshen up.
Very nice place to stay around Lake Batur. It is very clean and has a nice vibe. The staff were very kind. I was sick for a day and they took care of me. The hottub is cleaned every day. I slept in the dorm with 6 beds and it was good. You don't have curtains tho but for me that was not a problem. The view is amazing and it is a good place to stay when you are going for the hike on mount Batur.

AustraliaThe pathway to the location was hard to get on. Perhaps if the road was tarred or less rocky surface would be better. Understand from the locals that this will involve money from those involved, not just Black Lava.
The heated pool, the room was excellent. The view was spectacular.

AustraliaMore options at the restaurant would have been nice, but at the same time, it was off-peak season and the limited menu was understandable considering it was quiet.
A lovely place with a beautiful view of the lake and volcano, complete with a hot spring, lush gardens and friendly staff

NetherlandsThe road to the hostel is bad, and it’s somewhat remote from facilities, but that is mostly your driver’s issue and shouldn’t keep you from going. De glamping tent was in het regenseizoen wel erg klam. Sanitair is wat eenvoudig.
Lovely hosts. Very nice vibe, also easy connecting with everyone for solo travellers, simple but cozy warung, creative entrepreneurship by the owner Yon, serving fish from his lake fish farm, also tasteful vegetarian options, and last but not least the hot spring pool. and all of this at the foot of Gunung Batur which is splendid. You walk the hike from the hostel, no transportation needed. Lovely guides for the mountain hike.
