Great rooms. Huge beds Right on the water I loved the food and the staff were fantastic Probably the only thing is that is a bit old and rough around the edges, but that is also the appeal

The food was good, but not great. The facilities had everything we needed, but were a little run down/rough around the edges. The beds only came with sheets, which was unfortunate when it was a little chilly out.

The staff and location are fabulous, absolutely no complaints for either of those. Fantastic value for money.

Not being warned about the owners black nipping dog.

Loved the location and the staff at Blue Star Bungalow’s . We spent every day of our stay in Amed relaxing on the beach lounges at the Blue Star Bungalows ( we had accommodation elsewhere) and it was so peaceful and wonderful. We snorkelled straight off the beach, ate the delicious food and rested more than we have for years . We stayed one night at the end of our visit and found it very comfortable and great value . Thanks to the beautiful staff .

The rooms especially the bathroom could do with some love as they are very old but for the price that you are paying it is still fantastic value!

Everything! A lovely quiet little place with beautiful staff and delicious food!

Lovely friendly staff. Opposite the hotel is a beautiful reef where you see a lot of fish. Every morning, before breakfast, we were brought coffee and a thermos with hot water on the terrace of the room. The room was a large bottle of drinking water (which I personally meet for the first time). I also want to note quite delicious food, which is also quite quickly prepared. You can rent equipment for snorkeling.

Overal: the room and bathroom need renovation. Bathroom: bad smell, lack of water pressure in the shower. Small windows, without curtains, don’t give a feeling of privacy. Room: Electricity is dangerous (loose sockets, lamps). Lack of good curtains in the room. Not a very strong airconditioning. Not the strongest Wifi. Nevertheless, we still had a good time at Blue Star Bungalows & Cafe. We imagine that after a good renovation, our time would be great.

Clean, but old room. In the morning hot water in a thermos to make coffee and tea. Waterdispenser in the room. Great location right in front of the beach. Nice restaurant. Great staff, very hospitable. They even sent a forgotten ear cuff to our next hotel on Bali. Quiet location in February. During our four night stay, only on Saturday there was loud music from a nearby karaoke bar. The music stopped around 23.00.

Very friendly, attentive staff. We felt welcomed and well looked after. Beds were large, very clean and so comfortable. Located on the beach with waves rolling in and out all night - very therapeutic. Drinking water on supply in the room. Bathroom partly open-air though private. Great breakfast overlooking beach to sea - beautiful view. Best we had all trip. Accommodation simple though clean.

Nothing really. The ferries to the Gili Islands no longer run from Amed, though.

Ideal location on Jemaluk Beach, right by the coral. Water cooler in the room with free drinking water. Room cleaned everyday with beds made. Great warung (restaurant) with lower prices and tastier food than some of the other places nearby. Thermos of hot water and the fixings for tea and coffee outside the room early each morning. Wonderful, friendly staff.

The accommodation in general in Amed is a step down in quality compared to Sanur or Ubud - but prices are also much lower. I like everything about the property -

My 4th stay at Blue Star, always when I am I Amed I stay with them - Great staff and located just 30 meter from the best coral Reef In Amed. Very safe for kids.

The following comments are not meant as criticism but meant to inform the unsuspecting traveler. 1. Be prepared to climb steep steps down to the property and up to your room. Steep, uneven steps are very common in Amed. 2. If you travel with lots of electronics, think about packing a power strip.

This was our third stay at Blue Star. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is wonderful -- roll out of your room onto a spectacular beach with great snorkeling. Our room, while nothing fancy, was large and comfortable. Great value for the $!

AC was weak. There was a big electric fan but it was a bit noisy. The bathroom was kinda old but ok. First two days there was weird smell and noise coming out from the room next door.

Very nice location. The beach is extraordinary good. The food from the restaurant was also very good. The staff was very kind. There are bars/restaurants next to to place and they have really nice view to the ocean. We had big water in the room not just two bottles. Also it was a big room.

Fantastic spot, walk right from the cafe onto the beach and the reef is just there. Amazing first snorkelling experience for our 9 year old. Could rent snorkelling equipment on site. Lovely breakfast options and an idyllic view. Staff so helpful and friendly. Walking distance to several restaurants and it was great to have a water dispenser and fridge in the room.

The location was a bit noisier than I had anticipated as the family bungalows face the road. The beds were not the most comfortable.

The staff were amazing, and the snorkeling right off the beach was perfect. I saw so many species of fish just feet from shore. Overall we enjoyed our time at blue star.

Nothing really. Maybe some more hanging space for wet gear like towels and snorkeling stuff. Also maybe better safe set up as ones in the rooms were not very secure.

Easy not complicated more a back packer type setting. We were a family of 4. Staff were all hard working and pleasant. Location was excellent facilities were good. We stayed for 4 nights thought I booked 2 rooms in the 1 bungalow but ended up booking 2 bungalows. So my children were even more excited when they had a whole bungalow to themselves. Price I thought was good value for money.

The street outside to the local shops was very busy with traffic - but it didn’t spoil our stay.

The place is right on the beach and the room was clean and spacious. Attention to detail was good. We ate at the cafe several times and everything we had was delicious. You could hire the snorkelling gear for a modest price. The staff were so friendly and helpful - special mention to Darmi who helped organise our trip to Lahangan Sweet and our onward journey.

    Nothing to add here☺️

If you want to stay somewhere where you can walk right off the beach into some of Amed’s best snorkelling from just outside your accommodation, this is a fabulous choice. Rooms are simply appointed but charming and cheerful and my room had great views of the water. Nice cafe attached and sun loungers to rest on during the day, friendly and helpful staff. Loved my time in Amed and the convenience of this place to the water was a big contributor to this.

Slippy floor mat in reception which my wife slipped on and fell over. You could hear karaoke from a bar on the hill until late at night

In a quieter part of Bali. Close location to good snorkelling
