This Homestay is a beautifully restored old house from the Dutch era which is in very good condition with high ceilings and a lot of wood furnishings. The host is extremely helpful and informative and he provides a lot of advice and directions. He was prepared to transport me to some of the sights in the area on his motorcycle and on request booked a private day tour (by car) for me to some of the temples in the region for the next day. There was a pleasant atmosphere in the evening with some of the guests interacting with each other while enjoying tea in the communal area, playing music, etc. The staff was very hospitable all the time and the traditional breakfast was very good. The location is central to most of the important sights in Solo, so it's easy to walk from there while transport options also exist from the Homestay. It was a great stay, I only regretted that I didn't stay at least one more day.

The house is beautiful. The location is really good, close to the keraton and other places of interest. The best part of this stay was the staff, I was treated like I was part of the family.

Simple rooms - but what I expect at a homestay.

Lovely, quiet homestay with very friendly owner and staff. Delicious Indonesian breakfast (nasi liwet). Rooms were very nicely furnished. The owner had much information about things to see in Solo and the region.

Great guesthouse in a pleasant part of town, with a variety of foodstalls nearby. Rooms are comfy, there is a lovely little garden, and the friendly staff will supply you with tea and coffee throughout the day. Owner Rifat has lots of information about what to see and do, and can also organize car or motorcycle trips to the temples and waterfalls of Mt Lawu.

There was nothing I did not like.

The place felt very simply and authentically Javanese, and also very peaceful. The people there were kind and helpful, particularly Rifat, who really went out of his way, including speaking Dutch with me and introducing me to a little restaurant around the corner that I returned to more than once.

Doeloerkoe is simply a warm and welcoming Homestay where the ambiance is incredibly peaceful and is ideal for winding down and escaping travel fatigue allowing guests to truly relax and recharge. The host and staff treated me like family, who went out of their way to accommodate my dietary preferences, ensuring every breakfast was a delight. One of the highlights of my stay was exploring hidden gems with the host and being introduced to many locals in the area, who were all very friendly. These experiences were something I would have missed had I been on my own. I’m grateful for the hospitality and experiences that made my stay truly exceptional.

Small notes: 1. Wall in our need to properly paint (left white stain on our shirt) 2. Perhaps they can put bathroom fragrance or naphthalene balls, just to reduce sewage smells from the toilet bowl.

Clean room, hot water available, feels like you are staying at Grandma's house with warm ambiance. The hosts are friendly. Since we are not type of person who dont eat ricr for breakfast, they offerred "jajan pasar" and we got a plate of jajan pasar 😋 Recommended this place to some friend and we definitely will be back.

The staff are the best! So welcoming and kind. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Rifat gave us some great recommendations to do during our stay here in Solo. Air con, wifi, showers, common areas were lovely. We were able to leave our bags and chill in the common areas after checking out. Location great, near food markets and a short walk away from Kasunanan Kraton.

There was no basin in the room but it's not an issue as you can use the shower space and there is one on the outside wall

Everything is the best,the welcome drink,the beautiful breakfast and good tour suggestions,you can really enjoy your stay here if you visit solo,this hotel built on 1929 according to the hotel information, wonderful place.
