Alaya Eco Lodge is a beautiful and peaceful homestay with a strong sense of community. Surrounded by mountains and just a 20-minute walk from the beach. You can rent a scooter or bicycle for easy access to the beach, while the nearby trails invite you to explore the hills. What makes this place truly special are the little details that create a warm and welcoming atmosphere—the thoughtfully arranged spaces, The wooden architecture , the inviting common areas where guests naturally connect, and the friendly cats that add to the cozy charm. You can also sometime join daily yoga sessions and, the free water refills make the stay even more comfortable. The manager and staff are always present, making sure every guest is well taken care of. I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to be back very soon !

The beds were a bit lumpy and uncomfortable. Was a decent walk to town but honestly we knew that when booking so that’s all good! Really nothing bad though still a lovely place

Really cool place to hang out, good breakfast - simple but nice, yoga mats, games and a kitchen for use. Neighbourhood was close to nice walks and really pretty in the jungle. Nice pool :)

Everything about Dune Alaya was sensational. The staff are amazing. The beautiful log houses are so special, if you are looking for an authentic bali experience, with a community feel but also so much room to take your own space, I wouldn't look anywhere else but here. There is truly something very special about Dune Alaya and we will definitely be back!

The venue is around 15min walking from the main road. Thanks to that it has its relaxed vibe and calmness. Although you should take that in account if you don't want to rent a scooter and mind walking to grab a food or something. The place cares about ecology, so you cannot expect full blasting air con all day, be prepared for fans :)

It is very calm and relaxing environment. We liked the layout of the ecolodge with its traditional style cottages, pool, common space to meet other guests and community members, and the nature all around. Michael (owner) is a super energetic and friendly person who's open to help you and share his knowledge and tips. The staff was also super friendly, helpful and hard working. We also enjoyed MMA classes, which you can attend every Mon, Wed and Fri with Yari (World champion in MMA). It was the first time trying something like this and it was amazing! We recommend the place for longer stays in order to experience all it has to offer.

Staying at Alaya was a truly special experience! We didn't want to leave. If you are interested in activities, there are mountains to hike, beaches and coral reefs to discover. If you’re interested in training, there are experts in MMA, Yoga, Massage and Ecology to learn from too. It's also perfect just if you want to relax, and the pool was amazing for that. We think this is what makes the space so special. The daily lunches, weekly bonfires and communal spaces became an intriguing place where people of different backgrounds, interests and situations came together and found common ground. We wanted a bit of everything from our stay. So we chilled, took part in activities and socialised. As a result, we felt like we experienced everything Alaya had to offer. The place has left a special place in our heart. As Michael the owner told us, Pemuteran is a land of return and renewal and we are already planning a trip back.

I truly loved staying here. If I should say anything it’s that the bedsheets were a bit worn. I would come back anytime.

Amazing location, very lush and green, like a true little paradise. Lovely pool. Characteristic and cozy wooden bungalows with a lovely en-suite bathroom. Mix between yoga- and hippies-style, built with love. Located off the main road, but easily accessible with a scooter (can also rent there). Close to many great restaurants and warungs and you should definitely go snorkeling at the artificial reefs of the Biorock Project just down the road. Very amicable staff and great breakfast. Perfect little get-away 🙏

What an amazing stay at Dune Alaya! From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and genuine kindness. They were always available to answer questions and offer help, making me feel right at home. The ladies from the kithen serve the most delicious meals made with love. I found myself looking forward to mealtime each day! The location couldn’t be better: next to stunning mountains and just a stone's throw away from the beach. A very calm and peaceful location at the end of a dead end street. The free use of bicycles was very handy for short distances and for longer distances we cheapily rented scooters. But also the ecolodge itself was astonishing with a swimming pool for refreshment on hot days. Overall, this place offers a perfect blend of relaxing, convenience, and community. I definitely recommend it!

I loved everything about my stay. The location is incredible, and the place itself is amazing. It’s very authentic, nestled in the middle of nature and close to the beach. Michael is probably the most welcoming host you’ll ever meet, making you feel right at home. I also had the chance to meet some great people during my stay. The staff was extremely friendly and always smiling. I couldn’t have hoped for a better experience in Bali. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you could stay for months. In fact, I met several people who initially planned to stay for just a few days but ended up extending their stay for weeks or even months. I will definitely come back!

A little paradise at the end of a little road, only 15min from the beach! The views are incredible, the bungalows so cosy and in touch with the environment, and the food (the ecolodge offers communal lunch everyday) homemade and delicious. Michael is very welcoming and will help organise trips to menganan island and give you the best local addresses! We loved it so much that we already planned to come back!

The ecolodge is about 20 minutes by walking to the Main Street with all facilities (restaurants, shops) and 25 minutes far from the beach.

This ecolodge has everything you need to relax and recharge your batteries in peace and quiet. The staff and owner made us feel at home and worked with the local population: they went out of their way to find us a taxi on a local festival day, to take us on a snorkelling excursion on Menjangan Island and to advise us on the best restaurants in the area. The ecolodge was very clean and the hot pool allowed us to fully relax. We won't forget our short stay in Permuteran thanks to the people we met there!

Would have liked a kettle in the room, but Michael was happy for me to use the kitchen for my early morning coffee.

What a special place this is! A peaceful oasis at the base of the mountains where its easy to feel at home. The managers are in the process of creating sustainable initiatives involving the local community and take on volunteers to help with different projects. One of the friendliest accomodations (and villages) I've ever been to! My little home for 5 days was gorgeous and comfortable with a front garden perfect for my yoga practice. As a solo traveler who loves my alone time it was the perfect mix of serenity with a feel of community. I was given the use of a push-bike at a very cheap price for my daily adventures and dinners out but also enjoyed a couple of the delicious communal lunches. Michael and his wife have many plans for further improving the guest experience and I look forward to coming back one day to see it all. Thank you for a blissful, inspiring stay and I wish you every success! ❤️

Not that I dislike this, it's just that the water ran too slowly. I think it's best to prevent water waste (which is very good). It's just that it's too slow sometimes. And also, i hope the breakfast will have more variations in the future. Maybe something more local like nasi campur/roti bakar hahaha.

It's like a tranquil gem set at the foot of hills and trees. We really enjoyed our stay here. Michael and all the staff were so welcoming and nice. Totally feels like home. Here, all the guests interact like long time friends. There were several activities or discussions you can join, but if you prefer to do things on your own, that's OK too. This place also offers a yoga course as well. Staying here truly refreshed our mind. Since we did a road trip from Jakarta, we could have a great relaxation just by laying in bed doing nothing here. At night we did stargazing and I swear the stars were sparkling so exquisitely! Even my friend who stays in South Bali said that she was only seeing 1 star at the time I sent her the picture of the sky above us! Overall, you should give this place a try while staying around Menjangan.

Awesome location and atmosphere, central pool surrounded by nature. The accomodations and the buildings in a cool Balinese old style are so beautiful and a pleasure to look at. The owner Michael (busy, friendly and energetic) is well integrated in the community and will give you a glimpse of the local life and traditions when possible. Lots of activities to do around, beach is close enough, and some really cool warungs. Try the Kima Bar and Resto (8km away) for a stunning sunset in a pool with a cocktail.

Incredible place . So peaceful. The wooden accommodations are just wonderful . The garden around is beautiful and the swimming pool completes it so well . Great nature environment. All the staff is amazing . Very friendly . The owners have a big heart, and you can feel it straight away . Michael is full of resources and shares with pleasure if you are interested. Being here is like being part of a community, but you can also do your own if you prefer. You can have lunch here , the food is good and the ambience is even better , a big sharing table . What makes me feel like being part of a family . Solo travellers can stay in a "dorm" what is actually an amazing wooden house, for a good price. I feel so grateful I found that place. 🙏 I recommend staying more than one day to appreciate this great energy .
