Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The snorkeling tour they offer is from a company with a bad rating, I think you can find better ones.
The staff was super friendly, they always have a big smile and are willing to help you in any way. You're going to feel like at home. The hostel provides motorbike rental which is very convenient. The rooms are clean and good value.

We had a good stay. Decent room, clean washroom and clean swimming pool. Breakfast was simple but tasty. The lady is a wonderful person. She is very obliging and goes an extra mile to satisfy the guests. She even helped me iron my clothes and charged nothing. I hired a bike from them. Same price and great service!

The host and hostess are so nice people. They help me with a lot of things like booking snorkeling, take me to the harbor and my later plan. Highly recommend here

You can have everything you need, the hostel owner is extremely kind, friendly and helpful, they maintain everything that you need. The accommodation is definitely in good price value!! Amazing the choose to live here!! Free breakfast, free water, helpful for your tour!! Highly recommend to stay there!!

Nice family run hostel! The couple who manage the place is very kind and helpful. They arranged taxi transfers and snorkeling for us. The twin room was spacious and comfortable.

Everything was perfect!
I felt so welcomed by this lovely couple running this hostel. They made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Organised trips and Taxis were always great, a worry-free holiday was made possible! The private room was the perfect accomondation for me, super clean and comfortable. AC was quiet, wifi great and constantly access to free water. The perfect place to stay in Nusa Penida!

Nothing I didn’t like, everything was just perfect :)
Komang and Wayang have genuinely been the most wonderful hosts I have come across in Indonesia. Always going out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Breakfast is free and super tasty, they rent you scooter for really cheap, book boat tickets at fair prices and even drop you at the harbour for free of charge! Their kindness knows no bounds. Will definitely be staying at Gedhong whenever I’m back in Nusa Penida 😊

Unfortunately, the sheets and blanket could use some washing. It was not very clean and I think the blanket was not in the washing machine before. That’s why I give 8/10.
Staff was very nice and helpful. They rent scooters for a good price. Room was cozy. Breakfast was good.

The snorkeling tour we did with the hostel was horrible. Not well organised, noone could speak English. It were only 2 instructors and maybe 30 people on the small boat. They just told you to jump off the boat, but the waves were crazy and the snorkeling equipment didn't work. So I was terrified and most of the people came back to the boat fastly. Nobody saw any mantas unfortunately. So try to organise the snorkeling tour yourself maybe.
Really nice hostel, felt very comfortable. Huge bunk beds. Included breakfast. It's very social also due to the breakfast together.

There were some issues at the check in (the list my reservation) and the woman was super rude and dismissive (“just contact booking”, she kept telling me). Luckily the guy at the desk was helpful and instead of dismissing me managed to solve the problem

Lovely family run hostel. The perfect size for meeting people! They also serve breakfast and have scooters for their guests. It’s perfect. I stayed both in a double room and dorms. The beds are very comfy. I would definitely stay again! I had booked for 3 nights ended up staying much longer
