Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Amazing!! the location is so good. near the port and the center of the city. breakfast was delicious! the couple who work there was so nice and tried to help us with everything! They rent scooter too! our room was so clean!! I really recommend this hostel!!

The hostel is really really nice, fair breakfast and free tea all day. Aircon worked perfectly and the location is good too. You can rent a motorbike at the hostel which is pretty convenient. Thanks to the lovely staff of Gedhong hostel.

The beads are super confortable, the rooms are clear, the owner is super cute and helped me with everything I needed! You can rent scooters and tours with them, I recommend!!!

The hostel is really nice. Especially because of the staff attending it. Komang is really nice, very gentle, helpful, and friendly. Always with a smile and willing to help. Breakfast was very nice too. I'll definitely go back.

Very kind host who keeps the Hostel clean, delicious omelette every morning and many opportunities to rent activities. I can definitely recommend the Gedhong Hostel.

The toilets could have been a little bigger, and a separate washroom and bathroom
This is relatively a new hostel, with very good rooms and an amazing host! They give you a free welcome drink and a few cookies along with it. Its very near to the main market, and you can rent a scooter from here to visit all the beaches in the East!

It's literally a perfect hostel for such a cheap price.
It was clean and pristine. It feels like you're in a resort if you book a private room coz of the services you receive from our main guy, Komang. He helped us getting the bikes, provided our included breakfast and got us boat tickets. The location is perfect as it's next to the port and loads of warungs nearby.

No ventilation in the bathroom made the room very wet, but I think this was a problem because it was raining, maybe it’s better when it’s sunny.
Good location near the harbour, host extremely kind, he helped us booking a snorkel tour and the ferry tickets to gili islands. I definitely recommend this price. Good value for the money!

AC placement in the room. It's very odd placement. Also there is no table / ceiling fan in the room. Due to rainy season, lots of insects come in the room. So it's quite a mess at Eve.
Supportive staff. They help however they can. They offered rain coat and adopter for charging by their own.

Problems with checking-in (no owners were present), hard to find correct number. We were rented scooter with completely empty fuel tank (enough to drive 50-100 meters even though owner declared it will be enough to go to gas station 2km away) Small breakfast

Breakfast was very basic.
Room was clean and had everything that was needed. Staff were nice and friendly when i did not have a towel in the room they gave me one right away. Space outside to hang your clothes when wet. Plugs in the seating area.
