Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaThe pool could be cleaned or the filtration system could be turned on more often. Not really property related, but keep in mind that the sound from the mosque can be quite loud and heard in the tiny house especially since there is no isolation at all.
Center location, easy to go to any part of the island fast. Breakfast was good, staff was great.

United KingdomThere is nothing to not like here! Breakfast here is amazing - eggs, pancakes, waffles or fruit, along with coffee and freshly made fruit juices, which changed each morning. There is also unlimited tea, coffee and water. The rooms are beautifully decorated with a fresh and bright tropical theme. The beds are comfy and each room has plenty of storage and shelves. There is a small safe for items like passports and money, but we never felt unsafe with laptops not being locked away. The wifi is also great, and we never had a problem streaming or getting online. The team here is a small, tight knit family, who cannot do enough for you. The rooms are cleaned everyday and fresh linen and towels are changed regularly. Everyone always had a smile on their face and were always on hand to book trips, excursions or answer questions about the island. They also arranged our travel to and from the harbour. The location of the villas is also in our opinion the best on the island. Being in the middle means you never get caught out by staying near a beach club, some of which have loud music into the small hours in high season, so you’re guaranteed a good night’s sleep. GIli Matiki is right in the centre of the island, next to a bike rental place that has bikes with child seats. You are never more than a 5 minute cycle from any amenity. We never had a bad meal on the island, which is testament to the local businesses here, and you are walking distance from one of the top rated warungs (sunny). If you find yourself not being able or not wanting to go out in the evening, most restaurants will deliver meals here. There are some beautiful beach bars to watch the sun all around the island and there are some amazing snorkelling spots just metres from the shore. As the island doesn’t have cars or vehicles (only horse and cart and bikes - manual or electric), it is a paradise. You’ll honestly never want to leave! Thank you to everyone at Gili Matiki!
If I told you we will leave a piece of our hearts here in Gili Matiki, maybe you would understand how much we loved it here. We initially booked a week here, but extended it twice to stay almost 3 weeks. As a travelling family of 3 with a 6 year old, Gili Matiki was perfect and was amazing value for money. The hotel has 9-10 rooms, all beautifully placed around a pool and an amazing common area. We stayed in the private villa called Villa Matiki and it is perfect for 2 couples/family of 4. It is set back from the main hotel, with it’s own private entrance, garden with cabana, kitchen and terrace with sofas. We loved the look of the place when we booked it but it’s even more beautiful than the photos. The owner has clearly made a space with families and travellers in mind. When I say this I mean you get all the perks of a resort, but the close knit feel of a b&b, maintaining a small family feel. There is a playground with toys and games located next to the breakfast area so you can keep an eye on the kids whilst you enjoy freshly ground coffee. The swimming pool has a shallow section for children right next to a large cabana. The mezzanine has a book shelf, games, yoga mats and bean bags, perfect to escape the sun for a few hours or for a morning chill. Hopefully you are also a fan of animals, as there are some gorgeous cats here! Our daughter loved playing with the kittens every morning. Our private kitchen area, with fridge, hot plate, water machine also had a well stocked mini bar. The restaurant also has ice cream and sell snacks like crisps/biscuits in case you can’t get to the supermarket; we didn’t find the cost any more expensive than the local marts too! All villas have beach bags, beach towels, sarongs and sun hats for use during your stay. It’s touches like this that make you understand the thought that has gone into the concept here, to make it as convenient as possible for your holiday or travels.

SpainNot their fault really, but the hut does not have isolation. The island vibrates early morning with a Dolby surround mosque. You can’t do nothing about it.
Incredible place, very friendly staff. The best breakfast in 3 months. Nice pool and details are just perfect. The room have all details you may need and the really will help you in anything. I was able to work from there and internet speed is quite good. It’s away from the main spots which can be too busy and easy to reach any place walking in 10 min max.

A little peace of paradise. We stayed in “Little Matiki” which was a “villa” with two beautiful bedrooms and really nice outdoor bathrooms. On the patio there were two separate sofas, which was perfect for two friends travelling together. Easy to rent bikes and get laundry done.

United KingdomAn incredible hotel with very friendly staff. The hotel was able to set up multiple activities for us to do, the breakfast was absolutely fantastic and the pool was very nice. The bungalow itself was lovely and had an amazing outside shower; every detail was thought of, including beach towels, a beach hat, and a beach bag. They also do bike rental for very cheap. Would highly recommend.

GermanyWe recently had the pleasure of staying at Gili Matiki Hotel on Gili Air, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel is a true tropical paradise, nestled in lush gardens and offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The accommodations are charming and comfortable, with beautifully designed bungalows that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-equipped, providing a perfect balance of comfort and island charm. One of the standout features of Gili Matiki is the outstanding service. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable stay. From the warm welcome at check-in to the helpful recommendations for activities and dining, their hospitality truly sets this hotel apart. The on-site amenities are fantastic, with a lovely swimming pool that provides a refreshing retreat after a day of exploring the island. The restaurant serves delicious meals with a variety of options to suit all tastes, and the breakfast is a delightful way to start the day. The location is also ideal, offering easy access to the beautiful beaches and vibrant local attractions. Whether you're looking to relax by the pool, explore the underwater world with some snorkeling, or simply unwind in a hammock with a good book, Gili Matiki has something for everyone. Overall, my stay at Gili Matiki was nothing short of perfect. It's a hidden gem on Gili Air, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and unforgettable island getaway. I can't wait to return!

AustraliaNot a big deal but was surprised we had to pay 5k IDR for 700ml water bottle refills - it’s not much, but didn’t expect to pay for drinking water at a place in this price range. We also stayed at a place half the price on Gili that had the same cold/hot water machine in every room for free.
Beautifully decorated, peaceful gardens, lovely pool, thoughtful touches everywhere, sarongs and hats to take to the beach, a tap outside each room to wash feet, delightful and helpful staff, easy bike hire, helpful recommendations and interesting info booklets in the room.

United KingdomThe Bungalow we stay in was really clean, stylish and well made, with no gaps for bugs to crawl in. Also loved the outdoor loo! The whole property was really pretty and full of plants/flowers, with a lovely pool. Loved the hand made little information booklets to read about the island when chilling. The staff were really nice and gave us ideas for what to do around the island! Also really handy being able to casually hire bikes every day (which was really cheap too) to get to places (everything is walkable, but hiring a bike definetly made it’s more fun). Breakfast was amazing, with a freshly made smoothie made for us everyday! Loved that there’s a really good focus on being environmentally friendly and sustainable!
