Located v close to a loud street. Also there is a caffee downstairs which is open until long and sometimes sounds from downstairs could be heard in the dorm untill midnight.

They didn’t prepare any liquid soap at the time but on the second day, one of their staff offered me some small soaps (which was nice) but i had already my own liquid soaps, so that was okay (because I’ve already read some reviews)

It was clean, the access was superb, close to many restaurants, close to Malang station.

Majority people who stay here are part of the Bromo tours and need to get up really early to start. Most people seemed to respect that when lights were off or dorm bed curtains closed - except 2 people who turned every light on and talked loudly for an hour on arrival. Yes, was only 7pm - but some consideration is key when in dorms Not the hostels fault I may add here - just other travellers

I can't slate this place too much as it was a last minute booking and was all I cd get. I don't usually stay in dorms either and not big/mixed ones either so can't let that influence my review For me I would say everything was ok... Shower and toilets were fine Beds had curtains lamps and plug points which is what you need Cafe downstairs In a great area for food and rainbow village only 900m away

The place is really nice and I slept very well with super confortable beds. I really loved the family, they're all very friendly, helpful and make you feel like at home. They organized amazing tours, I joined one to Tumpac Sewu Waterfall (where we also did an amazing trekking and saw a nice cave nearby) and another to see mount Bromo at sunrise, I enjoyed both a lot. A part from being good tour guides, they are also really funny and pleasant to hang around with, so they make the tours and the stay really special. Super nice family. They helped us to reach the city of Surabaya from Malang to catch our flight too.

Beds were spacious, lots of places to put luggage, clean and warm showers. Jon showed us what to do in the area and it was very helpful. We booked the 2D bromo and ijen tour and had such an incredible time! Would absolutely recommend

Bathroom (especially sinks) seem to not having been cleaned since long (very dirty). Sometimes smell of cigarette in common room and eventually dormitory.

Perfectly located for visiting Malang (close to train station and points of interest). The people there are so nice and helpful (we got some coffee and fruits and long conversations 😃). Good cheap tours organized by Jon. Beds are confortable. They said i could keep my bed and have a nap until midnight (before Bromo) without paying the night. One large dormitory, but though it is on a passing road, i could sleep well (no noise issues). Decoration of common room is nice.

The AC could be better and I didn’t realize it was a bigger dorm. The showers were ok but not the cleanest I’ve had. The location was a bit noisey because it is central, so overall wouldn’t be my first choice to stay again, but maybe I’m picky. It was still pretty cheap, so a decent option!

The concept is lovely and the owner and his son were super kind and easy to chat with. The cafe is good with local coffee. The bed was comfy but AC wasn’t strong and lights on even with curtain were a bit annoying. The location is great. Super central to everything. I recommend going to the blue and rainbow villages for a look and to the night market. Lots of good restaurants and sights close by. Pictured was my fave food from the market. Must try! Do recommend going to waterfall from here

The hostel itself is good. The staff are friendly. There’s a nice coffee shop attached. It’s in a good, central location. But the tour to Bromo is the real star and definitely worth staying for. Jon was really friendly, interesting, and helpful, and knows a lot of people so you get a good spot to watch the sunrise. You couldn’t ask for anyone better to run the tour. The scenery at Bromo was also amazing and definitely not to be missed.

There was a baby and a little kid and their mom was talk lot while they’re packing till i cant sleep it was like 5-6 am

Basic but nice hostel. They serve good coffee, the location is good (in the midst of the Malang night life with live music and streetfood everywhere), the owner and his son are very friendly. I did the Bromo tour here as well.

Many people visiting here go on a (Bromo) tour, which takes place at night, so also during daytime people are often sleeping in the dorm. So there is not a good place to chat or hang out. Downstairs is great for that though. Warm water in the showers seems to run out after about 20 seconds.

Excellent Bromo tour organized. Jon is a gem, especially if you’re Dutch - talk Dutch with him! Excellent coffee downstairs. Great atmosphere. Decently clean. Curtains lend some privacy to the dorm beds.

Perfect place to rest before our journey to Bromo and Ijen with clean and quiet rooms. We were welcomed with one of their specialty coffee, you should really try them and had a good talk with owner Jon, who speaks perfect Dutch! He also recommended us where to good and showed us the best gado gado place we visited in Indonesia so far

The dorm is not something that you expect from a hostel of this rating. The washing areas didn’t even have a soap.
