Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United StatesIbah was an oasis of calm in the middle of a bustling city. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the incredible amenities the hotel offers. The historic feel of the property makes you believe that you are living in a secret garden. I loved all the stone work, ponds, and beautiful architecture. However, there was an issue with the gecko poop. Guests are warned upfront that geckos are prevalent on the property and important creatures for the local ecosystem that help to keep away other pests like mosquitoes. But despite this positive twist on their presence, they are prone to pooping in the rooms. Each day we would find gecko poop in our villa — usually in the same general area on the floor. Our theory is it fell down from the geckos climbing in the rafters of the villa. It was annoying but luckily we were able to avoid stepping in it and the staff cleaned it up everyday. While it wasn’t that large a mass, it’s certainly not what you want to experience in your luxury stay. Despite this, the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating and the pool was an amazing retreat from the heat and crowded streets of downtown Ubud. We had the pleasure to stay at Ibah during Nyepi (the Day of Silence and Bali new year). The staff did an incredible job of curating activities for guests to celebrate the day while remaining respectful of the local culture, including a buffet dinner before sundown, which was delicious. I truly appreciate all the effort the staff made — during their holiday — to cater to guests. Ibah is a wonderful hotel with great attractions close by, including the Campuhan ridge walk, which I thoroughly enjoyed walking in the mornings soon after sunrise. While the hotel is just a short distance walk to the center of town, it is also a place for relaxation and peace. The spa services were decent and the breakfast and afternoon tea were always delectable.

United StatesSince it’s in the jungle, the jungle animals wake up with the sun. They are noisy little creatures.
Beautiful grounds. The stone paths and walls with the mossy growth are a perfect aesthetic for the jungle vibe. The landscaping is genius. Everyone was so nice and attentive. This is probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Gardens and original stone fences and pool area. We stayed in a villa with its own pool. What a luxury! Ours was 107 which had many steps to climb but worth the view.

AustraliaThat we didn't stay longer! We want to come for more days next time so we can enjoy the tranquility and beauty of Ibah for longer!
Ibah is an absolute paradise. The villa was so secluded and in sync with nature. The beds were sooo comfy and pillows luxurious. The bathrooms have everything you need and just being in the villa was so relaxing. You immediately start to unwind as soon as you enter the grounds of Ibah. The view from our infinity pool was just stunning and took our breath away. The food was amazing for breakfast- the nasi goreng was my favourite. The staff are so friendly and generous, we would love to come back in the future. The location is perfect, you can walk to ubud centre within 15 minutes but it still feels tucked out of the way.

Really lovely property. We were upgraded and had a lovely room and fabulous view over the trees. A great sized balcony with daybed, table and chairs and a plantation chair. We could watch the squirrels in the trees. A massive bathroom and a really beautiful pool. Very good staff.

United StatesNot a thing, everything was fantastic
There is everything to like about this property. If you’re going to go to UBUD, this is the only place to stay. It is a sanctuary only a few minutes from the downtown area. A very simple walk and you can be in the hustle and bustle of the town. However, the property is complete serenity and peacefulness. The layout is stunning, the staff is phenomenal, the food and drinks were exceptional, I cannot say enough about this amazing place.

AustraliaBreakfast was included but served in the restaurant. According to literature in our room, if you wanted breakfast in your room, not only was there the equivelant of a $10 per person fee, but you had to pay for the food you ordered as well. This seemed outrageous for the prices charged for the room. In Bali it is unsafe to even wash your teeth in tap water,so every other place we stayed had the large water cooler bottles in the room, giving easy access to free safe water. At Ibah we were told there were 4 bottles of water supplied (each only 300ml) although we could request more if we needed them. Well of course we needed more. We needed at least 1 bottle each to clean our teeth! We finally settled on 8 bottles a day, just to save the bother of asking for more and the staff having to bring them. Why not just supply a big water cooler bottle like they do everywhere else. Bed and pillows. The bed looked sumptuous with mile high pillows and mossie netting. But the bed was very hard, not to our taste, and the pillows were so high and heavy (I note other reviewers said the same thing) There is a 'pillow menu' which we took advantage of, although they weren't verycomfy either. Local wildlife. Again the room literature warned there would be lots of geckos around. That's fine, we have them in Australia as well, but not in the house. There were clearly some living in the rafters as we would find poo on the floor everyday. Most of it was very small, but there were also larger slug sized lumps which appeared daily. On one occasion it landed on my head while reading a book. We scooped the lump up and took it to reception. They got pest control in to capture it and sent us a photo. They released it elsewhere on the property. I realise this is a long review, but I value other peoples feedback when looking for hotels, especially expensive ones.
This is a very difficult hotel to review, possibly because we are not the right demographic for this property. It looked exactly like the photos, tradional buildings in lush surrounds. However despite reading other reviews which mention the stairs, we weren't really prepared for the sheer number and uneveness of them. Added to the fact there were no railings to hang on to it made getting anywhere from our villa a bit difficult. We are in our 70's and fairly fit and normal stairs are no problem. But these are rough stone, differeing heights and so many of them. To younger, fitter visitors this is clearly not an issue. The villa was huge and the private pool very nice. But it wasn't very comfortable, bed and bedding is mentioned below. I am also not a fan of the outdoor shower. During the day it was tolerable but not at night with so many critters flying around the light. The internal bath had a shower over it but no screen so water went everywhere. The staff were all lovely as we found elsewhere in Bali. Breakfast was a la carte and served in the outdoor restaurant. There were many options both western and local, but became a bit tedious after a week. There is a free shuttle bus into and back from the main area every 2 hours. It is quicker to walk, but it's hot, humid and uphill on very rough and broken footpaths. It usually took 15-20 mins on the shuttle to go about 1 km. But it was airconditioned and convenient. A couple of days there would have been fine, but a week was too long for us.

United KingdomOur stay here was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful the property was—every detail, from the elegant décor to the perfectly manicured gardens, exuded charm and sophistication. The entire hotel was impeccably clean and tidy, making it a pleasure to relax in such a well-maintained environment. The serene atmosphere added a calming touch to my stay, allowing me to truly unwind and escape from the hustle of daily life. The staff were incredibly attentive and went out of their way to ensure every guest felt valued. They genuinely catered for all needs, whether it was arranging personalized excursions, accommodating dietary preferences, or simply offering thoughtful recommendations for local attractions. What truly set this hotel apart was how they consistently went above and beyond to create a memorable experience. From the little surprises in the room to the warm, friendly service, every aspect of my stay was infused with care and attention to detail. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and outstanding service. It’s a place I can’t wait to return to!

EstoniaIbah Hotel in Ubud was simply fantastic! It's nestled in the middle of lush greenery, like an oasis, in such a peaceful location in Ubud that everything is within walking distance. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff was incredibly warm, friendly, and kind. The hotel itself is small, but the rooms are private with stunning views of the green jungle, and the sound of the river below adds to the relaxing atmosphere. I absolutely loved it! Ibah Hotel Bali provided us with exceptional care during our stay. When my wife fell ill with food poisoning, the staff kindly extended our checkout time and promptly arranged for a doctor. Their attentiveness was truly impressive. The hotel grounds are peaceful and beautifully maintained, offering a serene escape just a 5-minute walk from the bustling town center. The rooms, designed in a traditional Balinese style, are absolutely stunning, and the daily breakfast was excellent. With incredibly friendly staff who go above and beyond, Ibah Hotel is the perfect blend of comfort, beauty, and great service. Highly recommend!

AustraliaOur room was quite a hike from reception. Walkways are cleaned from moss, however it can be a bit slippery during rainy season and as someone who has broken an ankle at home it was a bit confronting to navigate to different parts of the hotel. Also visually I would have liked less moss growing on the stone walls…
Staff are super friendly and helpful. Traditional feel and look of the property. Beautiful pool area. Yummy breakfast. Special thanks to Gede at front reception, pool side staff member and staff at restaurant.
