Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The host was very helpful not only with health certificate and proper gas masks but also with general advices for what to explore Clean and comfy room with excellent jungle and ijen view. Very calm and quiet. The waterfalls are just 5min behind the hotel. Tasty breakfast was served and our scooter found a dry place too ;)

RussiaThe sound insulation is not very good and you can hear the noise of the road, but if you are very tired and want to sleep before climbing, this is not a problem.
Wonderful hotel, you feel at home! There are all amenities, hot water, comfortable bed, internet and TV. The staff helped us with all the issues - they made medical certificates, gave us equipment for climbing the volcano. The location is ideal, close to the port and the volcano, you can order food from them or delivery from restaurants. If you want the most beautiful and spacious room, then I recommend taking a suite.

Stayed here for two nights. If you want to visit Ijen this is the place you want to stay. Owner is super friendly and helpful also good with English. Only 30min to the start of Ijen hike. Rented a motorbike here to go to Ijen, very good bike for a decent price and they helped us to get our medical certificate for Ijen. Rooms were spacious enough for two people and clean. Would recommend this place and would definitely come back!

New ZealandNothing, everything was great.
Had the most amazing stay for 1 night as we climbed mt ljen. The owner was so kind, helpful and arranged everything for us to go hike mt ljen. He provided us with medical certificates (which we didn’t know we needed), gave us free gas masks and even arranged for one of his friends to buy us the tickets when we arrived at mt ljen. Room was very clean, comfortable and AC worked great. Very cool location that has way more of a local feel!

FranceA warm welcome and super-friendly staff. The room was nice and spacious. The restaurant service is efficient and at the price of a local restaurant. Nothing beats the magnificent view of the jungle from the balcony. I was able to climb Mount Ijen for a very reasonable price thanks to their services, and as a bonus I was dropped off at the station. This is a great job, thanks again!

NetherlandsNo warung at short distance.
Nice small scale property. New and clean rooms, with AC, TV and water boiler. Good WIFI. Friendly people. You can order food too, but there is no menu. Good start to visit Jagir waterfalls, and Ijen volcano. Check if it is open. The '1911 resto' is an excellent place to swim in a large pool; and to eat very good. But it is 1,7 KM up the road. Make a hike through the rice paddies and wisenta's to the south-west of here.

We stayed in Private Suite, loved the space and room a lot. Jagir and Ketegan waterfalls are at walking distance. We had dinner and breakfast there. After hiking Kawah Ijen, we came back to hotel to have warm breakfast and shower. What we loved most is stir fry bokchoy.. we loved to eat it with warm rice and had it both for dinner and breakfast. super tasty. Hadi is very friendly and helpful. He speaks English very well. When we thought we lost our wallet (of cards) in waterfall, we already checked out and were in different destination. I contacted Hadi to seek help and check with waterfall staff, he kind heartedly helped us. (At the end, wallet was in the car). Sorry to disturb him for this and we wanted to express thanks here how helpful and kind he is.

United StatesAbsolute heaven !! Amazing property at the most reasonable price. Clean, brand new rooms, most comfortable bed, large balcony overlooking a bamboo forest with the sounds of a rushing stream below. And even better, I cannot say enough good things about the owner!! Made us dinner even though the kitchen was closed after arriving late in the night, arranged an amazing and well priced Ljen tour for us, lent me Indonesian dollars when I had none left AND even drove me to the airport in his personal car when I was so late I would have missed my flight! He makes you feel like you’re at home. Stay here you won’t regret it!!
