Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

South AfricaThe bathroom needs a bit of ventilation, perhaps an extraction fan will be useful to help with the musty smell.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was lovely and authentic. Peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed everything about our stay!

GermanyNothing to complain about
This hotel is an absolute dream. Although it is located in the busy area of Ubud, it is set off the main road. As soon as you step through the archway, you find yourself in paradise. The garden is incredibly beautiful, and the view from the terrace is fantastic. In the morning, you can have breakfast brought to your room while enjoying the wonderful view and listening to the birds. Don't miss out on the Nasi Goreng! It's gorgeous! My bungalow was huge and very clean. The bed was not too soft, which I really liked. The bed linens and towels were clean and smelled great. 🌸🌸🌸 You have everything you need—plenty of power outlets, adapters, toiletries, and water dispensers that are refilled as needed. If you want dinner or lunch, you just have to walk up to the main street, where you'll find a wide selection of restaurants. Alternatively, you can order food from Café Wayan and enjoy it on the terrace. The portions are generous, the food is delicious, and the prices are more than fair. But the best part is the staff. You won’t find anything like this anywhere else in Bali. It doesn’t feel like staying at a hotel—it feels like being part of a warm and loving family. Always kind, always friendly, and always helpful. You can ask anything, and they’ll immediately assist you with advice and support. I booked a trip to the Jatiluwih rice terraces and the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, and it was wonderful. The driver was very kind and drove safely. I was so relaxed that I even fell asleep on the way back. I originally planned to stay for only four nights, but I found it so incredibly beautiful there that I extended my stay by another four nights. Since my bungalow was already booked for someone else, I was allowed to move into a truly huge suite—at the same price. Which was an unbelievable offer. The suite was so spacious that I almost felt a little lost 🤣🤣 but the staff was always happy to have a chat, making me feel right at home.

Fantastic staff who couldn’t have been more accommodating. Room was really nice and in a lovely quiet location 130mts off the busy road but never heard a thing once in the room.

EstoniaIt is a paradise in the centre of Ubud. Unbelievably quiet taking account the proximity of the busy streets. The architecture, decor of the hotel is absolutely amazing traditionally Balinese. It is a perfect place to start your Bali trip. We also loved to spend time at the pool in the lush garden of the hotel.

United StatesBeautiful Balinese architecture and the staff, particularly Robot, are amazing. This is my second stay with Kebun Indah because the first day a couple years ago was wonderful. The location is as ideal as it gets and this hotel offers the most generous breakfast I’ve ever had in Bali. The services are amazing, including laundry done for such a minimal price. The beds are super comfortable and the balconies are generously sized. Air conditioning works great and wifi is strong. Everything you could possibly want is right outside the front door within a five minute walk.

SpainThe room is generous and secluded, we were lucky to have views of the pool. The Balinese breakfast was great. The gardens and fountains and pool area are especially lovely and feel like an oasis from the chaos of the street. There are restaurants and shops right outside, though the walk into central Ubud is a bit further than we thought, so the hotel very helpfully drove us in and arranged pick up at no extra cost. They were also very kind in letting us leave bags there before and after our stay. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay if you want somewhere tranquil but still close to central Ubud.

Indonesiathe rate is actually quite high for the place considering breakfast is not included. Perhaps could benefit by giving free coffee or tea in the room. Thanks.
I stayed in Sandat room, the view was exceptional, after the busy day, this place offers serene and peaceful, ubudian Bali vibes. Very close to nature, and you can hear the river running in the background.

CanadaArriving at the hotel requires a 5-7 min walk from the main street. This means rolling and sometimes carrying (down a few stairs) your luggage on a narrow and somewhat rough path to the hotel gate. My daughter and I are reasonably fit and still found this challenging in the midday heat. The walk is worth it! And it means no street noise. But visitors should be prepared. Also, the suites are located on a slope, so there are some stairs to be navigated, especially toward the pool area.
This hotel is situated is a temple-like garden, away from the busy Ubud streets. Each suite in the series of small buildings is unique and offers a tranquil outdoor patio area. Our garden room felt like an authentic guest house from another era - a charming experience.

Our first time in Bali and we could not of picked a better place. The location was good just a short walk from the monkey forest and so quiet, it was hard to belive we were so close to the busy street. The staff were all so friendly and we really felt looked after. From arranging a driver for a day trip out to ordering and serving us dinner on our balcony from their resturant in ubud nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast and afternoon tea also served on our balcony was delicious. We would not hesitate in recommending Kebun Indah and hope to return one day soon.

IrelandWe stayed at Kebun Indah during rainy season which meant there were a lot of bugs in the outdoor areas. If you a freaked by mosquito and ants then maybe avoid this accommodation during the rainy season. That said, there were no bugs or mosquitos in our room and the bed was equipped with a mosquito net. The facilities in the room are slightly dated but everything worked perfectly so we have no complaints.
Kebun Indah is gorgeous, traditional accommodation in Ubud. The garden surrounding the rooms is stunning and feels like you are in the jungle! We loved that the accommodation is a short walk from many restaurants, bars, spas, yoga barn and even the monkey forest! The staff are extremely friendly and the breakfast is served in your room each morning which is a real treat. We stayed in a 1st floor pool side room which has a large balcony which was perfect for having breakfast or chilling in the afternoon. The staff are very helpful when it comes to organising drivers or giving tips and advice on activities.

NetherlandsHave stayed here several times, however since last time a (hotel?) bar has opened up across the small valley and during the first night music went on really late. This is totally outside the hotel's control and they don't like it either. But once doors on room closed I could hardly hear it.
Peace and tranquility away from hustle bustle of main road. Can really unwind. Always kind and helpful staff.

AustraliaThe only slightly negative aspect for us was that there were no black-out curtains and no curtains at all on some windows, which meant we were awake at daybreak.
It far exceeded my expectations. We had a large 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom suite with a gorgeous balcony/terrace. Service was out of this world. Location was central and just around the corner from the monkey forest. It was also very quiet while being in the centre of things.
