The tents have no windows that can be opened, and the interior can get very hot with the morning sun between 8 to 11 am. It’s hard for the AC to cope with the heat inside. Apart from that, we knew that the valley could be noisy because you can hear the villages nearby, but that didn’t bother us too much.

Apart from being kind, the staff is very thoughtful. The design of the resort is pleasantly unique, not only the tents but everything since the moment you walk in, and everything is well taken care of.

Hard to find anything, really

Whoever designed this place should get an award! Seamlessly blending into the forest, every aspect of it is well thought of. Rooms are spotless and functional. View is amazing. They offered us complimentary snacks and drinks. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I wish we could stay more.

We missed a bit the chance to exchange and talk to the staff in the resort. It would be a great opportunity for them, especially in reception and restaurant, to get some training in English, so that we as customer can better connect to them and also even so important they with us. This would make anyone’s experience even more valuable for both ends

The tents in the jungle are extraordinary. Lying in the bed with the best view is perfect for relaxing. The staff was super helpful and friendly. They organized a great snorkeling trip to Menjangan. We also enjoyed a nice massage.

Don't let this bigger block of text discourage you, it's a nice place. The same environmental issues here as the rest of Indonesia. It's not a respite from the smoky air and certainly not from the calls to prayer. The local "pre-dawn" amplified assault is at 3:40am for an hour or more. Where I come from that's "the middle of the night." Our view was agriculture. Walking the property, the only tents that seem tucked in the trees are Binar 5, 6, and 7. You have to request that the staff turn off the lights outside your tent at night. I didn't like that I had to tell them when I was going to bed. There should be a switch.

The architecture and design are impeccable. It's a cool place to hang out. The tent itself was comfortable and modern. We appreciated the vegan options at the restaurant (Java is not easy for vegans). My partner liked the spa. They helped us with Ijen transport and pointed us to a local doctor for the Ijen health certificate.

The staff at Kunang Kunang tent in Banyuwangi are friendly and accommodating. They provide helpful assistance and are knowledgeable about the facilities and services offered. The tent offers a unique and cozy atmosphere, allowing us to enjoy nature while experiencing comfort. The location is serene and offers beautiful views, making it an ideal getaway spot for relaxation.

Maybe could use black out curtains if you want to sleep in but they provided complimentary sleep masks which was fine!

The sound of the many mosques that open at 3:20 in the morning does not make you relax and you do not really have a holiday.

You cannot charge food to your room, so you need to bring your cc or cash with you if you go for lunch/dinner/drinks. We needed to pay extra for orange juice in the morning, which was not known before (breakfast was included). You cannot fly your drone around the property (of course not towards the rooms), no mentioning of no-fly zone. Not much to do around the resort itself. Wifi in the tents is not very fast, at the restaurant wifi speeds were very good.

Location is very nice. Tents are fantastic, nice, enough space, clean. Staff was friendly, food was good. The SPA/massages were really good! We booked the Ijen tour which was very good, although our guide did not speak English.

Nothing the hotel can do anything about, but the prayers and chants from a nearby mosque unfortunately cut through the tranquility of the place a couple of times a day (does not seem to be an exception though).

Obviously, the location „in the middle of the rainforest“ is the hotel’s main attraction, and it does indeed deliver on that. Despite that everything is being kept as clean as possible around the hotel area. Rooms were spacious with a nice view of the forest and the creek below. Very attentive and friendly staff.

We're from Dubai and know the Muslim religion and Mosques during prayer. But the prayers started very early, 3:30 a.m., and lasted quite a while. Although not their fault and something they can do anything about, this was our biggest critique.

Extremely friendly staff and great facilities. The surroundings are stunning. They were always eager to assist and service was better than expected. They even packed us a delicious lunch the day we left early to catch our train.

The room was a bit damp, but bearable and very comfortable and clean. However we did find the hotel charged quite a significant amount of money for travel and laundry (over £10) for one small bag - which is more than what we would pay in a UK laundrette. This is only in comparison to prices throughout the rest of Indonesia. The properly did not offer any motorbike or car rental, so due to the location of the property we were left with no other option than to pay the prices. We were told that there was a free shuttle bus, but ended up having to pay 300000 rupiah for a taxi to take us 20 minutes down the road to the train station on the day of our departure.

The properly was very different to where we have stayed previously, secluded in the forest and a nice change to what we were used to. The food was amazing (especially big breakfast and ribeye steak). The staff were extremely helpful.
