Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

A great place to explore Makassar while you are on your way to Toraja or other parts of Sulawesi. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom has hot water and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The people of Legenda Beril were very helpfull with my trip, helping me get the bus ticket to Tana Toraja and getting to Malino. The location was pretty good as the things I wanted to see were all within walking distance.

Only two sockets in our rooms.
Very nice staff, very helpful. Nice common breakfast room and porch. Rooms are basic but everything is working properly.

There two persons at the reception. The guy is very nice and helpful and gave us good tips for transportation. We found the lady quite opportunistic and only willing to sell us the tours and assistance from a friend of her.
This hotel is good value for money. Reception open 24/7. Clean room with AC. Good position, next to Rotterdam fort and walking distance from the main mosque.

Bed a little firm for me but got used to it after the first night and ended up being OK for other 3 nights.
Lift. Hot Water. WIFI. Seating area on verandah. Omelette jaffle for breakfast. Convenience store 2 min walk. Close to Fort Rotterdam and easy walk to restaurants, fast food and coffee. Great value for money. More hotel than hostel. Basic but ticks almost all boxes.

Nice roome, hot shower, nice bed. Staff very helpful and friendly. We arrived with a night bus early in the morning and were directly allowed in our room. Breakfast is ok.

The hotel is located in Chinatown near a building that is attracting birds to make bird's nest soup. Loudspeakers are playing the sound of a flock of birds ALL DAY AND NIGHT. It's impossible to sleep.
Fairly clean, with a good A/C and hot shower.

Fantastic location, friendly helpful, dedicated staff, eager to assist. Very comfortable room, great air conditioning, shower, hot water, beautifully tiled bathroom all at very reasonable prices. Stayed twice! Walking distance to attractions & restaurants. Daily breakfast a bonus & very clean room & facilities.

Such a lovely place to stay in Makassar! The bed was comfortable, the aircon worked well, the shower had hot water, it is quiet at night, the WiFi worked well enough, there is cold and hot filtered water available. The breakfast is simple and could be improved. But the highlight of this place is the staff! So friendly and respectful. They also helped me with my transfers to the airport and bus station. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A/C didn’t really work & room was very hot. The staff heavily pressured booking a tour for Tana Toraja that would have cost 200+ dollars!!! The actual cost of guides and such is about $10 per day if you book in the town itself. They also refused to buy us bus tickets and couldn’t provide info to us on the correct bus terminal to buy them ourselves. instead they gave us the phone number of the same tour operator who tried to sell us the scam $200 tour. he overcharged us for the bus by 100k rupiah per person. The rooms here are fine but there are WAY better options in Makassar and places who won’t try to scam you.
Great location in the heart of the city. Food nearby. Offered free breakfast.

All good.
Clean, comfty room. Good Wi-Fi and AC. Hot water. Firm bed. Great location close to Fort Rotterdam and sea front is 10 minutes walk away. And also, near to a store, good fish warung and Chinese restaurant. Breakfast is real coffee and an egg toastie. Helpful friendly staff.
