Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

LatviaDon’t expect a luxury stay. But for the money you have all the basic amenities. Recommend!
The host was amazing! If you want to experience real Bali, this is the place. Located in a village with open and friendly people, surrounded by jungle and rice fields - this place allows to enjoy the authentic experience.

SingaporeThe wall fan couldn't swing at night, and being in a village stay means you'll get some bugs in the room too.
Sandy is very friendly. When you book this accommodation, you are directly supporting the local village community as well, not going through major businesses who take a big cut from building luxurious places. Do multiple nights stay if you have the time. He can recommend various walking and hiking route. Scenic spot, to immerse in the real culture of balinese, for a mini retreat, meditation, yoga, reflection, this is the place. Modern toilet.

AustraliaNo negatives, but we arrived and left with Gojek as we aren't renting scooters for the whole trip. Gojek was simple and came in 15 minutes, if needed Sandi can arrange transport but he told us it tends to be more expensive (as it usually is) so he reccomended the apps first. It was a little out of the way so if you don't have your own transport then your food options are limited if Sandi or his son are not available for lifts. The market down the street was fine for us, but we've backpacked a lot and our standards are adaptable. 20+ minute walk to the food stalls and 30 - 40 minute walk to a decent sized Warung. Walls are thin because this is a small property with 5 or 6 units. We heard talking and snoring at times, but nothing you wouldn't get at a hostel. Bring earplugs if it bothers you.
Sandis' home is a great value for the money. We stayed 2 nights in the countryside. Pool is refreshing and clean. The beds are clean, outdoor shower is warm. No aircon, but nice fan in the room. There is no netting in the room either so insects and geckos can be about, but we were not overwhelmed. Free coffee and Tea, breakfast is from a local market. We also paid for the cultural tour with Sandi and it was well worth the money. Walked through town, to a local market, and across a rice terrace where he explained the local history and culture. If you have a few weeks in Bali and you've got time, then staying for 2 nights and taking the cultural tour was well worth the price. Day 1 - we arrived via gojek in the afternoon. Went for a swim and chilled in the room. Sandi and his son took us to a local food stall for dinner, very good value and food. Day 2 - we left at 6 am and walked through the terraces. Sandi provides some local history but feel free to ask questions. His English is very good. He took us to the local market where we picked up breakfast (to eat later) and walked about the stalls. Sandi is a regular in the town and everyone is friendly. We had breakfast and coffee next to the terraces and Sandi shared with us some cultural and spiritual history of the area. Note: We opted for the extra forest tour. My partner and I are avid wilderness hikers and it was a good addition, but it can get hot and steep. I would bring a trekking pole and buy lots of water. We walked through a traditional Balinese Village and stopped for water before walking back. It added 2 or so hours to the experience and we got back around 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Swam in the afternoon. 7 minute walk to a small/modest market where we picked up ramen, cold drinks, chips, and candy. We made ramen in Sandi's kitchen which he was happy to let us use. Day 3 - Breakfast in the morning was from the local market, same as the tour, very good local indonesiean food.

Sandi has built an experience so incredible. If You’re looking for a true Indonesian experience this is for you. We spent 3 nights with Sandi. His knowledge, kindness and expertise are very valuable. We took a trek into the jungle and had coffee at the top. The views were stunning and Sandi taught us so much about Indonesia and their culture. He made us feel welcome and part of the family from the second we arrived. His experience and passion is inspiring and we’re excited to return. We recommend his spiritual meditation session as it was truly enlightening. 10/10 would recommend to anyone that is looking for a true Indonesian experience

GermanyThe accommodation is basic with all you need and luxurious with a beautiful outside bathroom. The owners (Sandi and his wife) are so welcoming and friendly. I felt very comfortable and safe travelling on my own as a female. On top I booked a tour with Sandi where he went on a hike through the neighbourhood, the local market, rice fields while he shared interesting knowledge with me about the Indonesian culture. I stayed two nights and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a real Indonesian experience apart from tourism! The banana pancakes for breakfast were super delicious :-)

AustraliaAn amazing cultural experience. Set among rice paddies, in my own little bungalow, this family stay was one I will always remember. Sandi and his family were welcoming and great hosts. Sandi is extrememly knowledgable about the community, politics, religion, health and healing and global issues relating to Indonesia. I enjoyed many chats and learnt a lot. Sandi took me to the local market to enjoy a traditional Balinese breakfast, taste some local delicacies and learn about traditional produce. Tours, hire of bikes and transfers can be organised for your needs and interests. Highly recommended stay to experience rural Bali.

CanadaSandi and his family were very always available to answer questions and help get around (this homestay is quite far out in the country). They also provided fresh fruits, drinking water, and coffee/tea for use anytime. I would highly recommend doing the add on activities (motor bike tour, ride field walk, and energy healing) to enhance your stay and get a true Balinese experience.
