Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe room was incredibly cold. So cold it kept me up until 3am and led me to ask receptionist to adjust the temp. I would have done this myself but there were no controls in the room (including the light switch). I was also kept up by mosquitoes biting me which the receptionist promptly solved with spray which seemed to be a normal response - led me to believe all of these things happen frequently and the staff didn’t do anything to fix them. At least have a light switch in the room for guests to turn off… especially when individual beds have their own lights !! Definitely wouldn’t stay again but it did the job for a short stay.
Did the job but sheets were super old and rooms had no facilities to turn off lights and air con

SwitzerlandThe sheets weren‘t clean, you don‘t get towels. The pictures look like they were taken a while ago. We tried to contact the hostel several times before our stay to ask them about tours and they didn‘t answer us.
It is a good location and totally good value for money. Its ok for 1-2 nights. They cleaned the toilets regularly.

GermanyI like to have a locker for my big backpack too, but i knew before, that they do not offer, unless you hand it in at reception. So no complaints, more of a suggestion.
I stayed there in December for one night. The Place is quiet. It was an experience to sleep there, because the front door of the capsule was only like a curtain. There is no locker in the capsule but a movable board as a shelf. The wifi was very good. The stuff are very friendly. I did not use the shower only the toilet and sink. So nothing to say about it. They offer free breakfasts, coffee and tea. Very close to the train station. For just one night and the price for me it is absolutly ok

The price is pretty cheap. As we are not staying for the whole night, just few hours rest before heading to Bromo so I think it's fine

MalaysiaNo locker or storage cabinet. The bathroom and toilet facilities are not well maintained. The bedsheet is broken also. The host only informed us before the check-in time but on the website, it's sold as a room.
The location is next to the station and a shopping mall. The room is quiet but depends on the guests also.

Close to the river and a mall. Cheap. Very nice that you have your own pod. Water, Coffee and tea available.

GermanyLying and arrogant behavour (from a manager guy)....resulting in no wifi in the doorm room.
Usually i dont give reviews as most informations are already in the reviews...but this i didnt see and it was so outrageous, that i give a little hint what you will await there: The hostel is ok for that it is pretty cheap, so in this regard was ok. Looks like the staff is cleaning every day and making their job. Just the "matress" is nothing more then a thin layer of foam, but i like to sleep on hard ground, so for me was fine XD (just dont look under the matress....what you will find is a cosmos of undiscovered species of dust and other particles of unknown sources....well worth of a adventurous explorer to discover and categorise!) But what was really unbelivable was the hotel is lying regards the wifi! I noticed that i didnt get a signal in my room, so i went down to the reception if there is another wifi for my room,...the staff couldnt really answer me. After a bit of exchange a manager type guy came and told me that it is forbidden to use the cellphone in the rooms, AND THAT THIS IS THEIR RULE!!! ...and i must say in a pretty arrogant and final way. In my long history of hostel stays i never encountered such thing like this...even in the cheapest and most remote places at least i had a internet connection in my bed. I was so perplexed that i left it and was thinking by myself "hmm, i guess different cultures, different rules"...but later remembered maybe to check the booking description of the hostel....and guess what, it says: "wifi is in all areas available and for free!" so i guess it was a bold lie...and delivered in a pretty arrogant way. I dont know what the problem is (in general, and with this guy in special)....but i guess its worth to get the information to fellow travelers. So in this regard, have a nice and save trip....and remember: Make Hostels Great Again! =D

AustriaIt‘s not the cleanest place, my bed sheets had stains on them and it‘s just not very clean in general. But I guess for the price you also don’t expect too much. Sadly, there also isn‘t really a vibe at the place and when I stayed I was the only non-Asian person. One thing to consider is that as a white woman you might not feel too comfortable in the neighbourhood (or in Surabaya in general). Once you talk to the local people, they are usually very friendly but just be prepared to get stared at a lot.
The location near the train station Gubeng is convenient if you‘re just on a one night stop over here. Also the price is obviously very cheap.

EstoniaThey don’t have any lockers so you either have to leave your bags outside your bed (20 people in the room) or leave them on your bed, but then you don’t have enough space. And of course the hotel is not responsible for lost items. We had breakfast included which is just a toast and butter/some spread/chocolate and no toaster, just sandwich grill. And there is tea and coffee, but no milk and no spoons. In bathroom there were 2 taps of 4 that didn’t work and there was no soap to wash your hands. In the toilet most of the time there was no paper and toilets were completely wet or dirty. No card payment in this hostel and when we wanted to pay in cash, they didn’t have change.
The bed was nice and clean, room was mostly quiet and the temperature was good. The location is pretty good, there are some malls and a lot of restaurants around. Good showers!
