Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe stairs leading up to the hotel are very dangerous. They are uneven concrete and are hugely unsafe particularly in the rain.
Really good location, large room and beautiful pool.

United KingdomCould do with new bed sheets as they had some holes in Also it's hard to get to with luggage or if you have a trip you need to meet att the main road.
The view and the pool were brilliant and the location apart from being hard to get collected by trips Easy walk to the main Street of ubud, beautiful view from the balcony and loved the pool was perfect to cool off. Breakfast was a good start to the day.

United KingdomThe fact a lot of drivers didn’t know where it was located but I know that can’t be helped as it’s kind of hidden in a sense and the walk way up with stairs is a lot if you have a suitcase
I loved the views the pool The room was nice the view from balcony

IrelandThere was some mold or fungus in the walls in the room, alongside a leak from the walls when it rained heavily. Wouldn’t judge it based on this though. Fantastic stay.
Slightly tricky to get to initially but once you figure it outs then it’s fine. Main stairs which were only built lead right out onto main street so makes it a little quicker.

United KingdomThe shower head was dodgy so sprayed water all over the floor. We arrived with just a 1/4 full bottle of shampoo that had mold around it so then had to ask for shower gel as we didn’t receive any of that either. The towels were a bit stained and discoloured. No bottles of water in the room only some glass ones to refill by the bathroom sink. The only downfall is that you refill this near the bar area and it’s just a tank of warm water that’s been sitting in the sun all day.
Good location with only a 10 minute walk to the main strip of Ubud. Staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly. Room was a good size with a comfortable bed. It’s a small property so feels more like a shared villa!

United KingdomSwimming pool could be cleaner.
Nice property with lovely staff. Felt peaceful. As others have mentioned the property is set back from road, either some dodgy stairs to reach or a longer walk up hill. Not really an issue but something to note.

AustraliaThe hotel doesn't face the main road. It's only accessible by scooter or walking in a very dark and narrow lane. It's not a long walk but it's a bit of a pain. The aircon doesn't work properly.
Overall was a nice experience. It's a basic hotel which worked for us as we were out most of day. The room was large, the view was nice and the staff was very lovely.

CanadaThe location of the hotel was not ideal given the long dark alleyway that is shared with motorbikes to access the property.
Breakfast was superb, staff was super friendly and helpful, and room was clean and comfortable. The jungle views from the room was also amazing.

It was very nice to stay at Mahadana the view from the pool was amazing and the room was comfortable. The staff was always there when you needed them and helpful! So I really recommend it :)

South AfricaThe distance to the actual hotel is a bit of a distance from the main street. I would say roughly around 400m - 500m walk if you do not have a scooter.
The location was great. It was very close to everything in Ubud. It has a nice pool and the bed was comfortable.

Australiathe only thing we found difficult about the villa (certainly not a big problem) was the walk to the villa with suitcases for check in and check out as it is not car accessible and alot of scooters use the narrow alleyway. the only other issue was the hot water cutting in and out but we were advised by staff before checking in that they had been having issues
the location was peaceful yet close to Ubud central. rooms were cleaned daily with new towels each day! amazingly helpful staff who are on hand 6 days a week and available on WhatsApp 24/7 the “4 bedroom villa” is actually 4x 1 bedroom villas - which worked great for our group!

SingaporeNot the most accessible place. Not accessible by car, there are also about 70m of uneven terrain/slope even by motorcycle. Despite the well furnished rooms, the breakfast offered was as good as a budget homestay, could be better if they upgrade the breakfast.
Cozy place with a beautiful pool near Ubud Palace. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. 2 of the rooms come with bathtubs. The staff is always ready to assist.

IndonesiaIt’s not what I don’t like, yet the way to go to the property was very small and quite scary for me to go outside walking at night cause the property was located at the very end of the small path.
It was raining when I got there, I was stuck in the traffic then I called the staff/owner of Mahadana. He’s super friendly, he came to pick me up in the middle of the rain, very sweet hospitality :) The room is very clean also, the bed’s super comfy, it’s quiet, and very homie.

UkraineHorrible hygiene conditions. Towels smelled bad and bed linens had stains. The bathroom had a strong smell of urine. After requesting fresh linens and towels, the replacements still smelled the same. We checked out of the hotel early and agreed with the manager for partial payment. However, he later filed a complaint trying to charge us extra. The pool and surrounding area were moldy. The breakfast was very mediocre (we didn’t even eat )
