There was nothing I disliked, but a few things to note is that there is nothing around, it's pretty remote, but that's fine if you are staying just for a couple of nights. It is up a mountain, so there's lots of wildlife around and parts are steep so it's not suitable for those with walking difficulties. It would have been nice to have a mirror in the room instead of needing to go outside to the bathroom.

I booked this hotel purely for the view, and it definitely delivered. The rooms were lovely and clean. They provide a torch, mosquito spray and toiletries. I had to leave early the next day, which wasn't a problem for the staff. The hotel shuttle collected us at 6am and they made breakfast bags for us.

The property was ‘Rustic Nouveau’ it was spacious, natural, beautiful and very peaceful, which is what we were looking for. Mohammad and the staff were so pleasant, ensuring everything was a great experience. Also the food was organic and delicious:)

Wow! This place and everyone who works here is amazing. The service was exceptional. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The rooms were pure luxury and the pool was out of this world. very hard to reach. loosing so much time to take the shuttle was not really convenient.. but I guess that comes with a hotel on the hill :) food was not really good.. neither local dishes neither attempt to cook western cuisine. lack of flavor, freshness and presentation. its a bit sad that such a Wonderfull hotel is saving on such a thing like a really good cuisine since its not really easy to go outside to eat..

the hotel is just wonderful!!!! very beautiful, the wiew is just stunning!!! swimming pool is amazing, the staff is very helpful and always smiling. outside terrace also was something out of this world.. so cozy and offering beautiful view of the sea and the mountains.

We really loved the stay at Mathis. The hotel is beautifully decorated and cozy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We can only recommend to stay there to enjoy the view and relax.

Nothing in particular. We didn't really use the restaurant apart from breakfast, which was nice, but nothing exceptional. Instead, go and eat in the local warungs down by the sea ☺️

Everything. The location is stunning, the views as well, the rooms are out of this world and the pool is perfect. Yes you have to jump on a Jeep that takes you up and down the mountain but that is entirely part of the experience and we found it so cool. It's still very easy and organised and there are shuttles from 7am to 10pm. Don't really understand the complaints about that part as it's totally part of the fun. All in all, don't hesitate and come stay here!!

The road from shuttle drop off zone up to retreat is quite adventourous! But the retreat provides shuttle service which is a plus. There were a lot of roosters around crowing basically 24/7, but somehow you get used to it

We enjoyed our stay a lot, this place gives summer chill vibes. There is quite a lot of space betwen the lodges giving privacy, if you just want to chill at a terrace and watch the view you can do it without any disturbance. Beds were very comfy, baldachims were a big plus saving us from mosquitos and bugs. Restaurant offers tasty food and drinks. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. This place is for people that want to get away from society and just chill on their own with as minimum contact as possible

The location is beautiful but it's a bit of a mission to get to and from the resort as the road is not very developed so you need to get the shuttle from town.

Might be a curse on our vacation but the shower kept breaking everywhere. I think the cocktails could be a bit better too.

The ride there is to say the least an adventure, but the views are rewarding. The pool is really chill and the restaurant is quite good too. The rooms are spacious and feel luxurious. You have quite a bit of space outside too, like a couch and a bed.

It would have been nice if there were towels readily available at the pool and room slippers, but apart from that, the stay was lovely! The location of the hotel is a 20 minute ride away from Amed, but the shuttle down to the town now runs until 10 pm, and is very convenient.

The rooms were really beautiful and unique. I loved the outside bed and the bathroom was really special! The service was very good and the restaurant had some delicious food. The pool area was beautiful.

The room bathroom garden did look sad and unkept. It was the only thing about the whole room that really let it down. Restaurant meals were a bit hit & miss. Pasta was fantastic but steak was extremely tough. But dont let this deter you - it was all great!

The service and of course the magnificent views! From arriving to departure the whole experience was seen thru by a great team. The rooms were beautifully decorated, felt very luxurious. A beautiful, private getaway. Small, quiet boutique hotel experience. Very appreciative of the hotel listening and actioning on our request to be near restaurant as we are an older couple. Restaurant meal prices very realistic and reasonable.

High location is nice, but about 20 mins drive downhill is not. Amed itself has also no good streets, not many shops and restaurants. Every car drive takes very long, so not a good location to discover the island. Best only for relaxing at the resort or do snorkelling at Amed’s coast. Drive to airport takes about 3 hours.

Really great and outstanding experience. Very relaxing time. Lodges are very nice and comfy. The pool is outstanding and it’s nice to have a relaxing pool day. Staff is very nice and quick. Food is delicious for breakfast, snacks and dinner.

My only feedback would be the cooks need alittle more training on the details for the western food. Other then that look forward to staying there again.

The place was stunning, i enjoyed the car ride up to the property which was rough and fun but they also give you a shuttle option for the less adventure minded. All the staff are great and i woukd say 5 star level for service and the property is in great condition.
