Loved the friendly staff and the property is absolutely beautiful so serene and quiet. Loved doing yoga in between the rice fields, the spa is amazing. 5 star will definitely be back.

Cold water in the pool. Sunbeds have no mattresses and it’s uncomfortable to lie there. Pool towels are too short, they just cover the half of a sunbed. Ants and mosquitoes in the room. A lot about beauty in this hotel, much less about comfort.

Very good location, amazing view to rice fields. It’s a pleasure to sit in the restaurant enjoying the view. Very beautiful pool area but the water was very cold, I couldn’t swim. Lunch in the terracotta restaurant was quite good!

Everything! It was a wonderful peaceful place, we felt so welcome. We booked for 2 nights, but it turned out that there was made an overbooking. But the staff from Mathis managed 1 night upgrade stay at the Mathis resort and the other night an upgraded room at a resort in the neighborhood, also they offered us a complimentary massage and diner. Anyway, even without the upgrades and extras it would have been a wonderful stay for us.

I stayed here for three nights back in December and it was lovely. The service from Fitri and the team was amazing. Their customer services and personal touches were superb, and they made me feel so welcome :-) As a solo traveller, I felt safe and welcomed. The hotel location is fabulous. Close to Ubud in a taxi but also has amazing views of rice paddies :-) Having breakfast and dinner here is pretty idyllic! Already dreaming of being back there.

There were quite a few big ants in the outdoor seating area, but I really am scraping the barrel here. The place is amazing!

We had a lovely time at Mathis, the views are stunning, great food, and the service is fantastic. We were travelling with a 7 month old and the staff were amazing with him. Upon check-in, Fitri even looked after him so we could eat our lunch in piece. She was great with baby Leo, as were all of the staff. They provided a good quality cot free of charge, helped us to rent a motorbike and organize a morning trek. They also offered us both a free 15 minute welcome massage. They couldn't do enough for us and we are so grateful! Thank you all for a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

There were two things: noises and bugs. The walls between bungalows must have been thin because you could hear someone pluging a charger to the socket in the other bungalow. And about bugs, the baldachin over our bed would do a huge difference, because there were a lot of bugs coming in drawn to the lights, which is of course natural and we expected that to happen, but with baldachin we would have much better comfort sleeping

We stayed at bungalow with small garden view and enjoyed it a lot. The place was very spacious and comfortable. Staff was very very friendly and helpfull, they have attended any needs we had. Restaurant Terracota has tasty food and drinks, especially cocktails with Arak. Spending time at pool with rice fields view was very relaxing. SPA offers very nice treatments and pampering

Absolutely loved our stay here! Gorgeous view, our bungalow was perfect - really big space, great bed and bathroom, very clean, great breakfast with a decent portion, staff were amazing - so accommodating and friendly, restaurant and pool area is fab too. We loved it so much we stayed 2 extra nights so 4 in total! Really liked how it was away from Ubud's busy centre so really peaceful and quiet, but close enough to easily get into it. I would recommend this to anyone in Ubud and hope to be back again next time I'm in Bali!

Great staff, nice place, great cocktails! You are paying a premium and would recommend more for partners or families on holiday as opposed to people coming to Ubud to experience the real soul and spirit of region. That said, it’s very close to get around anywhere and everywhere though Grab.

Literally the only thing we'd have wanted is to not be limited to 3 dish choices for breakfast, only to have more options, but honestly 3 dishes made us full and happy.

This boutique resort is one of the best ones we've ever stayed in. Everything has been well thought of, the attention to details here is amazing. A great mix of modern and traditional, authentic and really relaxing. The marvellous view over the rice fields that we appreciated either from the restaurant, from the pool or while walking around is just beyond anything we've ever seen. Our bungalow was super spacious, well arranged, clean. Everything we needed was there. Unobtrusive lights make it magical during the night too. The staff is incredible, always welcoming us by our first names and with huge smiles. Special attention goes to Fitri, but everyone was super nice. We arrived at 1.30am due to some delays and they welcomed us despite the late arrival. Communication via WhatsApp was great and easy too. We were traveling with a baby and they were beyond attentive to this - from preparing baby food, playing with our baby, accommodating any of our needs. The food was delicious. The location is great too - anything you need is nearby (laundry, spa, hairdresser, pharmacy etc) but it's still very very isolated from any noise and bustle. They offer a complimentary transfer to Ubud, which is super handy. We wanted to stay just three days and ended up staying over a week. We will definitely come back to this little piece of paradise on earth.
