We spent a very nice 59-day holiday in the ocean view hotel and dive resort in hotel room 214 with a view of the sea. Our room was very large, air-conditioned and well furnished. The bathroom could be renovated. The staff was very friendly and competent. We can only recommend the restaurant, the kitchen and the selectable menus. The menus are Asian, Balinese and Chinese due to the many Chinese guests, mostly young diving guests. The restaurant is about 50m from the sea and offers a wonderful view during your stay with the very large pool and palm trees in front of it. The garden hotel resort complex is like a tropical, super-kept park and is very quiet. Excellent! The two very large pools are very well maintained and serviced. The location was amazing, the room was very big and up to expectations. The staff was lovely, and the dive instructor was amazing, showing us the beautiful underwater world of Tulamben.

A lot of young staff who seemed to spend most of their time on their phones in groups alongside the rooms. They often just walked past things that needed doing eg empty beer bottles and crockery left poolside for over a day, with multiple staff walking straight past them many times.

The quality of the room and the bathroom was way below my expectations. I got misled by the photos plus possibly they deteriorated a bit during the pandemic. There were heaps of space in the bungalow, which sounds great, but it actually felt very empty and wasteful. Especially the bathroom is awkwardly, disproportionally large. Lesson learned for me - chose a smaller room next time ;-) The restaurant has a very limited choice of meals, esp. for vegetarians. I found the quality of the food to be good, but I struggled to find a meal to celebrate a great day. I was surprised that there is no ATM in Tulamben anymore. The closest is in Kubu. Not a problem for the resort as they accept credit cards (with 3% surcharge).

The location for scuba diving is just perfect. You literally enter the dive site from the resort's beach. On top of that, the bungalows are positioned directly toward the east. As a result, the Sun welcomes you every morning. Diving is not the cheapest, but at least in my case, I had a private dive guide, which was really convenient if not luxurious. Internet-wise I don't even remember if Wifi worked as I was surprised I had great mobile internet from Telkomsel, which surprised me because I thought only XL works well in Tulamben.

Very nice setting as close as possible to the Liberty dive wreck, just dive from the beach right in front. Excellent value for money.

The plugs are falling apart. I didn't notice but I've booked a room with no TV and the toilet flood after shower. The strange thing was my water supply was cut off 2 days in a row. Have to go to the reception to reinstate my water supply. 2nd time I told the staff on the ground, he just told me its broken and ask me to go to the recpeoand was fix miraculously fixed. There was mosquito in the room. My door also broke twice and had to call for help to lock. Massage service available but it's in room.

The premise is very well kept and the location is good. Staffs are generally friendly. Very spacious room and nice big pool.

Be aware that some of the units are double story. The steps to the upper units are very steep and are not illuminated at night. All persons need to be very careful at all times using the stairs..especially elderly people. The toilet seat was broken, the bathroom door would not close properly and the electrical outlets were hanging out of the walls. This should be basic maintenance.

The food is only fair. There are other food outlets in the village

excellent friendly helpful staff. after a big rain there were issues with the water pump, staff communicated often about the problem and were very helpful in moving us rooms. lovely pools and well kept grounds. good food in the restaurant and an excellent location

I booked a dive for the shipwreck, but because of weather conditions they took me to another spot which was quite boring. The diving instructor charged me extra 300k for a diving computer - I didn’t like that since expected all the equipment to be included in the announced price of the dive - 500k. I will not come back here for diving

The electrical plugs in our room falling out of the wall which is dangerous, towels we're forgotten on a few occasions so we needed to run to reception to request towels. Rooms could do with a better clean especially under the beds... Breakfast needs to start earlier, Divers need to eat before leaving for a dive day & 7-30 is just too late especially when there are many people in the restaurant.

The location is great, the gardens are beautiful and very well kept. The rooms are nice and big.
