The location is great, next to Jl. Prawirotaman where you can find a lot of places to eat and drink. The swimming pool is great to cool down after a hot day and the staff is super friendly - they want to help you with anything. We highly recommend this hostel!

At night you hear the loud music of the mosque so earplugs are recommended.

The breakfast was good and the swimming pool was amazing to refresh. We really liked the neighborhood with the little bars with live music and overall atmosphere.

The A/C could have been stronger. We stayed in the family room and it was comfortable but I would have liked to make it cooler, the unit was just not capable of it.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange transport to/from airport and gave us a ton of helpful info! They have a little welcome packet that even points out all the best ways to get to the sights and most recommended food spots around town, this was much appreciated. Also appreciated, we arrived before check in and they let us change and use the pool for a couple hours. We were welcomed with a smile every time.

The aircon in my room wasn't super strong, but it worked well enough to keep me cool at night (and I run hot). however, the room did stay cool even with the aircon off. The shower water pressure wasn't great and the WiFi was a bit patchy in the rooms.

Amazing stay at Otu. The location is great, a few minutes from the main Backpacker street with restaurants and cafes. The common areas of the hostel are really nice - the pool is beautiful and clean, and there is comfy seating. There's also a well stocked communal kitchen. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but have what you need and the beds were comfy.

Most taxi, grabcar or big vans won't enter the small alleyway that leads from the main road to this hostel. Have to walk about 6-7 minutes from main road. An issue if you are carrying big luggages. Maybe call up the hostel for some assistance

I love the staff. Friendly and helpful. Hostel assisted to keep my luggage while I was traveling to other parts of Java. The hostel staff also values my return and multiple stays at Otu, they accomodated to my requests. Other things I love about this hostel apart from the staff is the clean swimming pool. If you stay for one night, you cannot see the value of these things. Few nights to one week stay and then you will see that the hostel has the perfect balance of giving you some peace of mind, good service & good location. can't do your own quick clothing washes anymore as there is no more place to hang your wet clothes, but not an issue. Just opt for Indonesia's cheap laundry services

Maybe the light in the room, only one main cold light. Maybe a reading light close to beds may help. And a set of 2 shower towels instead of one.

We had a wonderful time at Otu Hostel. Nania, Robby, Elvira and staff made us feel very welcome each time we passed the lobby. They also helped us a lot with usefull advice and logistics. Neighbourhood is lively and kind of hipster, with lots of nice restaurants at walking distance. Hostel though is a peaceful and quiet place. Very good value for money with real and warm persons running the business.

Amazing!!! Beautiful hostel at the perfect location. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the beds so comfy, the common areas are very nice to chill. And not to forget the biggest thank you to Habba and Elvira, the amazing staff who are so helpful and friendly 🌺. They were always there to make us smile and made us feel at home. If you are coming to Yogyakarta, you have to stay in this hostel. ✨

Nothing all was so nice

All is nice (thick mattresses, Access to swimminh pool kitchen and fridge, some showers with hot water which is rare...), but the staff is the most special part of this place. Elvira and Habba are 2 lovely receptionnists who will do their best to help you get your ticket, train, nice restaurant, driver, best views of the city,... Or even take care of your injury in the middle of the night and help you through hospital if needed! Thank you SO MUCH again for all of that!

Otu Hostel in Yogya is fantastic! The rooms are good with AC, de pool is a big plus and de location is great! It’s just around the corner of the busy street with nice bars en restaurant. Unfortunately during our stay my girlfriend and I got food poisoning from another restaurant. But Elivera and Habba (2 of the staffmembers) took really good care of us!❤️. The helped with warm tea and soup. Also they gave us advice for the hospital and pharmacy. Such lovely and nice people. I highly recommend this hostel!

The property was exceptionally clean and tidy. The pool was lovely, and so were the staff. Especially Elvira who took the time to explain the area, and showed us the best spots to eat and explore. The team were very quick to help organise our tours at an affordable price and help sought drivers to aid us when getting to hard to reach areas.

The bathroom had a slight sewerage smell, but it was fairly common in Indo.....

Great location. Lots of resto's and supermarkets close by. Not too far from town centre, lots of becaks around if you didn't fancy the walk. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Swimming pool nice and clean and well maintained.
