We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

United StatesI showed up at 2 am. When I booked the place it said I owed 70,000 idr, to be paid in cash. The receptionist said that I actually owe 85,000 idr since I wasn’t paying with card. I tried to pay with card, but they didn’t have a card reader. I have never had a place, hostel or other type of business, charge me more for using cash!

UkraineAfter a long flight, I arrived at my hotel at night, but the receptionist could not find my booking. I showed him my confirmed reservation, but he still couldn't figure it out. He didn't know how to use his system to check bookings, and he wouldn't call Booking.com for help. I had just landed in Indonesia and didn't have a local SIM card, so I couldn't call Booking.com myself. I spent more than two hours trying to get to my room, which I had already booked. The receptionist wanted to charge me twice what I had booked for. In the end, I had to pay a higher price for the room. Booking.com later paid me back for this extra cost, but the whole thing was very stressful. They also charged my card 10,000 INR when I made the booking, and I have not got that money back. This was the worst experience I have ever had with Booking.com. As someone who used to work as a receptionist, I cannot understand how a hotel could treat a customer this way. The room looks cool at first until you realize that everything is made of the cheapest materials, the capsules are extremely thin, I heard not only my roommates snoring but also the traffic outside.
