Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaLocation is a bit isolated. The food at their restaurant was not very good. I had the satay chicken the first night and the sauce tasted burnt, I couldn’t eat it. The breakfast was just your average eggs on toast and fruit- quite a small serving. Unfortunately the homestay is outside of the main part of Sidemen so food options are limited to what they have at the homestay unless you have a scooter to explore. The restaurants in the main part of Sidemen are amazing so I would recommend branching out if you can. No rice field views but are looking out at lots of greenery and nature.
A honestly in the middle of nature at the local side of Sidemen. The family that run the home stay are very sweet and accomodating. On my first night the room I was staying in was too loud due to the frogs outside so they quickly moved me to a quieter room which was so kind. Ayu is a healer and her healing massage is incredible. Their daughter runs a fantastic yoga class every morning and evening at the property- it’s a challenging class but very well explained! Everything you need is within the compound.

FranceWe booked for a family homestay experience as advertised and this was more like a well-run small hotel . Extras were a bit expensive, we didn't experience them, but there was a lot of choice. Location is far from Sidemen and the trekking on rice terraces, you can't access by walk there so be careful, difficult to visit around if you don't have a scooter unfortunately.
The room was pretty, welcoming service, adorable dog ! And nice life around in the street with locals.

New ZealandThis was a beautiful location. The people were so warm and caring. They took time to share local knowledge and experiences. We can not think more highly of them. Wonderful stay. This is a must for time to heal your spirit and soul. The yoga is a must. I was a first timer and am now a follower thanks to a very speacial young lady, the daughter of the owners. Pure magic. Thank you so much.

GermanyNothing :) just as a little idea; the bathroom would be a bit nicer with some colourful details (e.g. a plant, some decoration). But this is just an idea and a very personal opinion.
Everything in this place breaths relaxation and tranquility and everything was perfect during our stay. If you want a place to relax, take care about yourself and enjoy a beautiful environment, this is the place to be! Everything we booked went perfectly: we asked for support to organize a driver from Padangbay to the guest house, we rented a scooter for a day via the guest house everything went smooth. During our stay everything was wonderful as well: everyone was extremely friendly, the food in the restaurant was lovely, we took nice yoga lessons and enjoyed the lovely massages. Definitely a huge recommendation and a big thanks to everyone of the family!

IndonesiaUpon arrival, I was greeted by the family host who made me feel instantly welcome. The room itself was a haven of comfort, clean, and cozy. The bed was incredibly cozy, offering a restful night’s sleep after days activity. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional dining. Pak Bagus served a delectable array of dishes, each one bursting with flavor and presented with artistic flair.

AustraliaNothing.
Firstly, Pondok Masa Depan accepts card payment (says cash only on Booking.com). The property is beautiful and situated away from the busy tourist areas of Bali. There are loads of activities on offer including cooking classes, massage, and yoga, but you can do as little or as much as you like here. Ayu, Bagus and Lakshmi were wonderful hosts. The food is amazing. It's a quiet haven and there are only a few guests at any one time. Definitely worth staying for a few nights (or more) if you're looking for an alternative to the busy tourist areas.

FranceAyu and Bagus are really nice, we felt during our stay that we were as part of the family ! The place is a haven of peace close to Sidemen, with individual rooms in little houses inside a beautiful and peaceful garden. We warmly recommend to live the experience in Sidemen here ! It's perfect to recharge your batteries. We discovered a lot of the Balinese culture, they love to share it : we did the cooking class with Bagus, the suska massage, Balinese astrology reading and reflexology with Ayu. We also did a yoga class with their daughter. And Bagus restaurant is very good ! All along the stay, they made everything to make us feel comfortable. On top of that, their dog is the cutest and the more friendly dog you will met, we loved to see him around. For sure, if we come back to Sidemen, we will come to visit you again !!

We spent two nights in this lovely place. Ayu and Bagus made our experience extraordinary. The Pondol Masa Depan is located in peaceful nature - but without any mosquitos. The bungalows are very comfortable and are equipped with a few thoughtful details. We enjoyed very enjoyable massages, foot reflexology, cooking class with Bagus and his delicious cuisine. Moreover, we experienced a beautiful praying ceremony in the morning with Ayu. To discover Sidemen including the waterfalls, the golden bridge and rice fields, we rented a scooter. Additionally, we hiked Mount Agung, which was an exciting experience.

This perfect little guesthouse is nestled in the rainforest and run by a lovely couple who are keen to organise trekking, massages and other activities. All the ones we did were perfect. the hospitality was warm, and they were only too happy to organise motorbikes, treks, drivers and lots of other things for us (including a blessing and offering ceremony with a local priest). Overall we felt like we had a very unique insight into Balinese life, facilitated by wonderful hosts. It is very good value for money, and the home cooked food is delicious. overall it’s a great place if you want to be sure of a good night sleep, full stomach, and easy access to good activities in the area.
