Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. I had seen complaints about noise and mosquitos. Yes it was noisy at night and yes I got bitten but you are in the middle of the jungle, it's 100% expected. It was nothing some ear plugs and spray couldn't sort!
Absolutely everything, gorgeous villas. Staff are incredibly friendly nothing is too much. Floating breakfast was lovely.

AustraliaThe only thing we could think of was the location. It's a bit far from the restaurants as well as the coffee shops. But never a deal breaker for us since we also got to enjoy the quiet part of the busy Ubud.
Me and my partner had a great stay at Portobello Villa Ubud. The staffs were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool in the villa was clean and relaxing. Loved the design of the villa, very cultural and inviting.

United KingdomNothing, it was a little out the centre of ubud if you want the hustle and bustle but we wanted it to be a bit more peaceful after gili T so it was perfect. Only 10 minutes on a scooter from the busy!
Beautifully done and the staff were so nice! Very family feel to the complex!

UkraineOur stay was incredibly comfortable, and we owe a big thanks to the friendly staff. The option to choose our breakfast was a definite plus. While the location isn't within walking distance of the city center, you can easily take a taxi or use a bike. However, if you're looking for a quiet place with picturesque scenery, it's a worthwhile trade-off. One of our top priorities was effective isolation from the outside animal world, and we're pleased to say that we didn't encounter any large insects inside the room. Nice private pool.

GermanyThe location is a bit far away from Ubud center. But it is easy to get a taxi/two-wheeler. There are not many restaurant options near the villa. There are a couple though in case one wants to grab a quick bite. Since the villa is in nature, there can be insects or animals. The animals that came in at night caused a mess on our balcony and also in the pool. The balcony was cleaned by the staff, but the pool was not.
This villa is just wonderful. It is managed very well by Kadek and team. The breakfast was complementary and was great! The villa itself and the pool overlooking nature are really lovely. Everything was clean. The staff was very kind with the requests we made and helped us as much as they could. It is the perfect place to wind down and relax.

VietnamNothing. Be aware that the location is between Ubud and the rice terraces, which is great if you can ride a scooter that can be hired from reception.
The villa was well equipped and extremely comfortable, the staff were great, the view very relaxing. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We loved our stay here and would definitely return.

AustraliaWe loved everything, but perhaps serviettes at breakfast!
We loved the staff, the villa, which was new but felt very traditional, our own pool, the fact that there were only 7 villas, the privacy, the rainforest outlook, the birds and wildlife, breakfast in the garden. Thank you to Kadek and the staff for their attention and care.

United KingdomNothing, it was perfect.
Everything! The property is absolutely beautiful, close enough to the centre of ubud by car/scooter but far enough away that you feel totally in the jungle. Gede and his team couldn’t have looked after us any better. Breakfast was delicious, service was impeccable and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The pool is a highlight!

United StatesThis property is just north of downtown Ubud; however, it is very secluded and beautiful. It is family owned and the staff is attentive, helpful, and very pleasant. Food at the property is wonderful. Pools and villas are secluded, clean, and uniquely Bali. It is very easy to get to the main part of Ubud from this location with no issues or concerns.

Incredible staff, stunning view, beautiful and well-equipped villa. Gede and his team are the kindest, always helpful. We enjoyed our stay here so much. We felt more than welcomed when we arrived. Also, the restaurant was super good and great quality-price. I can only recommend to stay there.

United StatesA bit noisy with the frogs and wildlife so some included ear plugs or a white noise machine would be excellent. The roof leaked on us during our massage and then the entire next day the roof was being replaced so we didn't have access to our villa. Totally out of the staff's control being a new hotel and not really experiencing rain yet, but I did expect we would receive some sort of discount on our stay due to that huge inconvenience. Villas also need to have a few more amenities, specifically a full length mirror, tissues, lotion, and conditioner.
Wonderful location, beautiful villas, very private. Really nice pools. Very good air conditioning. Wonderful staff!

RomaniaBreakfast was very good but not very filling, could be richer At night you hear a lot of animal sounds around, although the villa is pretty isolated and they don't get in. I think a monkey walked on our roof and woke us up. This is normal for a house in the jungle and nothing the hosts could possibly do, of course.
This is one of those magical places you see on Instagram - villa with a private infinity pool with a jungle view, it's absolutely magical The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful Cheap and fast laundromat nearby

Wow! What more do I need to say. This accommodation was AMAZING. The best we had our whole trip. The pool and the outlook are better than the photos could ever portray. We arrived early, our room was ready early which was a bonus and staff truely make you feel welcome. The breakfast provided has options and is great. The watermelon juice was the tastiest we’ve had all trip. Being able to hire a scooter directly at the accom makes it so easy and efficient to do so. It’s located slightly out of the main centre so if you can scooter you do avoid the traffic. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day, and all of the members of staff were friendly and did the best that they could. Specifically the manager, was always asking for feedback and improvement and genuinely cared about his guests experience. We will 100% be back.

FranceI would have liked a bigger light in the room because I needed to work. The lights in the villa give a honeymoon vibe. That is also nice but it's good to have an option regarding the lighting. The construction noise was very noisy sometimes. The water in the shower had an issue (it didn't get away in the sewer) and Gede got it fixed by the engineer. I also had some issue with the internet sometimes. Keep in mind that I came on the day of the opening, so they still have some things to improve but overall the quality of the stay is already amazing. I definitely recommend. One of the best hotels I went to in Bali. Thank you Gede and the entire team for the stay ! :)
The place is brand new, I arrived on the day of the opening. It's 10 minutes away from the center in scooter. Amazing view on the nature, private pool with an outstanding view on the jungle. I felt like I was living in paradise. There is a shared shala to practice yoga and meditation but also a smaller one in each villa. The pressure of the shower is good. The bed is very confortable. The people are VERY helpful, Gede is trustworthy and tries his best to give you the best experience possible. I eat vegan and he knew about the vegan diet (not that common in Bali, they often confuse it with the vegetarian diet). He made me a vegan breakfast, gave me advices for my stay in Ubud, and he always asked if I needed any help. Also, I extended my stay and got offered a good and steady price per night. Kadek initiated me to the daily offerings in the villa, it was fabulous !
