Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

The breakfast was wonderful,(enormous) the staff went out of their way, provided activities on Nyepi day. The garden surrounds were lush. It was a heavenly quiet atmosphere. It was a 10 minute walk to the beach and main area for shops and restaurants, though 2 minutes only to a few local cafes and minimarts.

United KingdomWe are in our 60-70 and we had to get taxi everywhere as walking to the beach for us was about 40min in that heat was a killer. Also for a lot of people there is no hand rail to get into the swimming pool . Just made it difficult to get in & out .
It’s stunning. The staff are amazing food amazing. Rooms spotless. Just like all the photos.

AustraliaI have to say, this place was a pleasant surprise! We know Sanur well and pass through often. We booked based on reviews but were initially a bit apprehensive about the location, being on the bypass side of the beach. However, there’s a rear gate that leads to the back lanes, bringing you right into the heart of Sanur, near the Icon shopping center and some of our favorite restaurants and cafés. The complex is not what you might expect and the pictures do not justify how wonderful it is, but I always aim to write fair and honest reviews. The facilities are great, though a little dated—but this is Bali, and if you appreciate its culture and charm, you’ll love this place. The grounds are immaculate, well-maintained, and beautifully kept. The staff were lovely, and a big shout out to Pusaspa at reception for her wonderful assistance. We highly recommend this unique little resort in Sanur. It’s not overly busy, just peaceful and relaxing. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Beautiful gardens, comfy beds & the food from the restaurant was fantastic! Our toddler loved the playhouse & the kind staff. The hotel is on the main road but nice and quiet, you do need to taxi everywhere. We’d happily stay here again!

AustraliaI would happily stay here again for the tranquillity. Some might prefer slightly closer to the beach and nightlife, but we enjoyed the peaceful area and walks or taxi to night-life.
Quiet, low key and beautiful.

AustraliaWhat a beautiful find, we had the suite room which was lovely and cool, traditional Balinese style with a sitting area outside, the room is 50sq metres which gives you lots of space and the bathroom is huge. There is no door on the bathroom to the sitting area which may be a problem for some but not for us. We ride a motorbike so it was easy for us to get to Hardys or the beach but we could have walked. The hotel is on the main road but the Hotel and rooms are set well away from the road and you can never hear any noise there is also a back entrance which is handy. The gardens and pool area are really lovely, so many little sculptures and pieces to stroll around and look at. Being a vegetarian they catered for me nicely at breakfast without any bother. The staff were amazing!

New ZealandBreakfast was so slow, which was annoying when you wanted to get out and enjoy the day. Maybe having the option to book breakfast/time so they could be more prepared would help.
Staff were amazing, went above and beyond to help. Lost one of my Crocs and they got it Grabbed to me near the airport. We had a 2bd villa and it was great nice and private but still had the hotel facilities and breakfast. Loved the location as it was away from the main tourist streets but close enough to walk. We hired bikes which were great in the heat. Lots of restaurants close by too.

New ZealandThe villas were huge - you could host a whole village for the day lol - we booked a 3 bedroom villa, we had our own private gated compound - two villas which consisted of a two bedroom house and a on bedroom villa, a huge private pool, a pool room, beautiful lush gardens. Private and away from the hotel. Breakfast was included and was as a la carte, so you were able to choose from the menu - we also received a free coffee voucher to use at the cafe - which was really a nice touch. I liked that tbreakfast was in a breezy courtyard overlooking the gardens. If you want to go for a walk or ride to the beach or mall, take the back gate to exit - rather than the main front road. There are so many cafes on that back road. The area is very safe and clean and seems residential, rather than a tourist spot. Enjoyed our night here to visit Sanur after arriving back from Lembongon. Could stay a few extra nights next time

FinlandBreakfast started to be boring as we spent 10 days in the hotel. Walk to the beach was longer than we expected as there is no direct path over there.
We had lovely stay with the family. Own pool was absolutely great. Villa was super nice and beautiful. Personnel was helpful and lovely.

Malaysiatempo doeloe means old times.it is the third time i stayed here.this time i stayed at the pink cottage again, just like the first time.those were the good old days.i remembered my old days in sanur.the management is new, but they still keep the old times atmosphere here.i stayed for three days, and really enjoy my stay. room decor nice, vintage design, and facilities complete, bathtub, shower, toiletries, TV, fridge, wardrobe…there is a swimming pool also, i swam in it once .breakfast is great, compared to last time.they improve it, food very delicious, and the portion is right. kudos to the new team. they provide both indonesian and western menu,i had bubur ayam, nasi goreng and eggs Benedict during the stay.love them, especially bubur ayam, very delicious. they have one restaurant and one cafe now. i had lunch at the restaurant once, ordered mie goreng jawa and spring rolls. mie goreng jawa is tasty, must try! staffs here all attentive and helpful. the location is ok though far from the beach, but not a big issue if you want a nice stay in sanur.then tempo doeloe is highly recommended! will be back again for sure.

United StatesI wished I had booked something closer to the action/beach/shops and other food options etc. Took me 3 tries to find beach walking; not a straight shot there and confusing to find way through the streets. I ended up hailing Grab bikes every time to get there and back to save me time and hassle. (Cars drop you at the front off the main road but bikes can take you to back entrance.) Restaurant is okay, some dishes were great but after multiple days I wanted more options.
Peaceful, lush green space. Unique individual villas to stay in. Super clean and best bathrooms I’ve encountered in Bali. Nice pool cabanas & space. Friendly /helpful staff who noticed my son preferred cantaloupe so they went and got that for his next day’s fruit plate. Tempo is located off main busy road but set back so you don’t notice. To get places you can walk out back door of property, through small neighborhood streets. Safe area. I chilled there for about 4 days with my tweenager who stayed in the room a lot and found it a quiet & pretty place to be. Also the AC was wonderful in the room which I appreciated.

United KingdomUnfortunately the breakfast is not great. It’s not absolutely awful, but it’s also not good. 6/10 (and that’s after trying pretty much every option). It could so easy be improved, so I hope they do try.
This is a beautiful, quiet and serene little hotel. The pool area is perfect - big enough to swim, small enough to feel cozy and quaint. The hotel is nestled in beautiful greenery, and the Suite room I had was incredibly spacious (with a massive bath).
