Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomVery small points: coffee could be of better quality and the food we had on the first night wasn't anything to write home about - spicy duck a bit dry and sparse. Service in the restaurant at breakfast can feel a little overbearing - lots of staff and perhaps too much attention in terms of clearing plates etc, but better that way then inattentiveness. Easier access to towels at the pool would be good, we had to wait for someone to appear to get these. It would be good to have a mid morning shuttle bus option, around 11 as they are currently 8:30, 3pm and about 7pm. It's not feasible to walk into Ubud from the hotel.
Sakti Gardens is truly a beautiful hotel. It has a majestic feel which hugs you from the very moment you arrive. Step inside the vast palatial welcome hall and your gaze is instantlycaptured by the lush greenery stretching beyond with glimpse of the cerulean waters of the pool undulating below. There are sweeping staircases, marble floors, art and sculptures set against the backdrop of architectually fascinating volcanic rock walls dressed by verdant tropical planting. The staff are impeccable and pay particular attention to the small details. They really take the time to learn their guests names and a little about them and to engage at each guests level. One of the staff turned out to be a Balinese language teacher and was keen to offer some useful phrases we then used with much success in Ubud. Our room was beautiful. It was perfectly clean and spacious with a large bathroom and a quiet balcony overlooking the gardens which interlace throughout the meandering roofs of the hotel. The restaurant offers a wide selection for breakfast - you will definitely not go hungry and their are options to suit all tastes - we loved the 'Eggstation' and the pancakes and fruit inparticular. The in house Udyana Spa is perfectly in keeping with the high level of opulence without being pretentious. I had a full body massage and it was truly glorious. I especially loved the welcome tea and the choice of oils Oh and the playlist - all so conducive to being able to melt into rest. The hotel is in a quieter area on the outskirts of Ubud - there is a shuttle bus which gets you within walking distance of the centre with drops/pick ups 3 times a day - we used this twice during our 2 night stay and it worked pretty well.

AustriaEverything was just great. The room was big and super comfortable, the view from the balcony was nice. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and loved that the pool was accessible 24 hours! The hotel is a bit outside the centre of Ubud, but offers free shuttle service a few times a day and also assistance if you want to hire a motorbike. The staff of the hotel is doing a great job, all of them were perfectly friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. We enjoyed our stay, even extended and also came back for the last days of our trip to Bali.

AustraliaThis is not a drawback because the aesthetic of the room was set up really well, but just a suggestion that it would be great to have a white light in the bathroom for self grooming as yellow lights doesn't show the clear picture of yourself in the mirror 😀... and the second thing that I found, which could have been a bit user-friendly, is the bath foam and other refill bottles kept in the bathroom. Small pyramid like bottles looked really nice, but a bit inconvenient to pour out the soap from them. It would have been easier with pump style bottles 😊.
Excellent service, location, food, and everything! Will definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious, comfort, and unique stay in Ubud.

SwitzerlandThe hot water setting for the shower in our room was set way too high. We did report it to the manager. Unfortunately, as we only had two there, I can't say that it has been resolved.
Outstanding beautiful resort on the northern edge of Ubud. We loved being outside of the main areas of Ubud and fully enjoyed the quiet and serenity the resort offered. As amazing as the facility is, the staff is definitely the resort's biggest asset. Everyone was friendly and incredibly helpful. The wait staff and chef's in the restaurant were exceptionally accommodating and always more than happy to talk about the various Indonesian options. The room was gorgeous and very large with a super comfortable mattress on the bed. We loved the gardens as well as pool and the swim up bar. It was really refreshing to hop in at the end of the day to cool off. A big plus is that the resort has taxi drivers on call AND the front desk staff use WhatsApp. In general we avoided going into the center of Ubud but I did take an evening yoga class. Using WhatsApp for the resort taxi worked great. The spa is not yet finished so we went to the hotel next door for massages. I can imagine that the spa, once done, will also be lovely. Highest recommendations and we would gladly go back to Sakti.

AustraliaThere really wasn't that much that could be improved other than perhaps a scheduled shuttle service into Ubud scheduled around 10 am. A big gap from 8:30 until 1:30 pm.
The resort was outstanding in both its location and its facilities. It is a 20 min downhill walk into central Ubud but a rigorous walk uphill for a return walk. However, the resort does have a free shuttle service to and from the resort throughout the day and evening. Worse case scenario if the times don't suit, taxis are plentiful from the town centre for around 20000 IDR. Service from staff was exceptional. Even though I was there alone on this occasion, I never felt alone. The resort is tucked away in a jungle environment, yet only a short distance into central Ubud. Ubud is no longer that quiet little village of recent times, now more of a bustling town with hoardes of day trippers swelling the numbers. With an early morning shuttle from the shuttle it was possible to miss the throngs of day trippers and enjoy aspects of the city centre at a more peaceful pace and then return to the resort for the quiet and solitude if that is what you are wanting. The rooms were spacious, internet connectivity was great along with a good array of television programming if that is what you like to do. Around the pool was relaxing with staff in attendance at all times. No lounge hogging that you see at other resorts. The food in the restaurant was very reasonably priced and of a very high standard with lots of choices. This resort is one that I would definitely make a return visit to for its ambience, facilities and accessibility to the main centre without too much trouble or effort. Quite a few singles were staying, along with couples and small groups.

South Africa-
Our stay at Sakti was wonderful. The resort itself is beautiful and the staff are amazing - very attentive, warm, friendly and efficient. Any requests or enquiries we had were attended to immediately and all staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is away from the centre which made it relatively quiet and peaceful. An added bonus was the free shuttle into town - about 5 minutes. A big thank you to the manager and staff - we had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

Everything at Sakti was great. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the location was great. The hotel is about a 10 mins car ride from Ubud palace so it's nice to be close to everything but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. I would definitely stay here again.
