Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. AustraliaThe scenic train was still under construction during our stay so we had to walk down the stairs to get to the spa house located at the bottom of the valley.
We have booked the Butler Valley Pool Villa which is in the middle of a rainforest with gorgeous interiors, a large private pool, and good amenities. The architecture is very authentic to Bali, with wood workmanship and elaborate stone carvings dotted throughout the villa and peripheral areas. The peacefulness of our stay, combined with the sounds of the river flowing in the distance, and a treetop view, all added to a retreat-like experience, one with a deep sense of Balinese culture and hospitality. The service was excellent and attentive all around, with special mention going to the butler team, who were extremely helpful with advice and with making bookings and reservations for us throughout our stay. We were greeted with smiles and the traditional Balinese greeting no matter who we bumped into within the hotel grounds, even the drivers and gardeners were no exception. Located in a quieter area of North Ubud, the hotel grounds are a convenient distance away from the natural attractions of Ubud, including its famous Rice Terraces, Tirta Empul temple, and myriad waterfalls. The Ubud business centre is also not too far South, only a 20 minutes drive away. Shuttles ferry guests 4 times a day downtown. We enjoyed the comfort of our stay, and particularly liked the check-in process, where we were inducted into the Sanna family with a traditional blessing at the local shrine. The terrain is rather hilly, so do expect a fair touch of hiking, if your rooms are located deeper into the hotel campus. We'd like to add a little bit also, about the in-house restaurant: Vanara, and spa: Kamandaka; both were excellent, and strong reasons to stay in and enjoy the resort a little while longer.

United KingdomThe room was nice but I didn’t feel was value for money, the view wasn’t what we expected from the photo, they needed a lot of trees and shrubs to make private but doing this meant the pool didn’t ever get the sun so was very cold and you couldn’t sunbathe, therefore we didn’t spend much time in the room. Main pool though, lovely and calming. Toilets here were spot on, not like most pool toilets. I also wasn’t sure about the rat box in the bathroom in the room..
The aesthetics of the property are amazing. The temple is amazing with the bar underneath The hotel as a whole is lovely, the breakfast was great. Staff very friendly, offer to pick you up in the buggy if they see you which is nice. I can’t remember his name but there is a young man there with glasses served us cocktails at night and breakfast in the morning, very hard working, lovely man. You are in the jungle so expect a lot of jungle noises throughout the night! The little rice terrace walk was sweet also

NetherlandsRoom for improvement: the breakfast dishes need some improvement. The dishes are just not that 5 star quality and need an upgrade. On the menu the “simple breakfast” is free and all other breakfasts are listed for an additional price. They didn’t told us that all breakfasts are actually including in the price leaving us choose the “simple breakfast” which is a disappointing breakfast with fries. This should be changed on the menu, or at least told to you by the staff in advance. Also at the pool menu we missed some healthy food choices. There is only pizza or deep fried options. Evening dinner is great though and good quality!
We had a great stay! The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating and well trained. The treatments at the spa are very good. However I would recommend to book this in advance before your stay, as they are mostly fully booked. The room was beautiful and very clean. Only a bit smaller than we had anticipated.

United StatesNothing comes to mind, we had a great experience and would definitely return.
The entire experience at this hotel was amazing! From the beginning everyone was so welcoming, and we enjoyed the welcome drinks and cart ride to our room. The room was incredible! It was beautiful and we loved the privacy and having our own pool. It was wonderful being able to open up all the sliding doors. The restaurant was also great (you can't beat the view), and breakfast and afternoon tea were included. We also ate dinner there, and all agreed it was one of the best meals during our trip.

United Arab EmiratesWhen we stayed the spa wasn't available which was a shame - this wasn't made known to us before we booked and therefore finding out the spa was only partially open (and therefore booked out) was a disappointment. Also, for guests who are less physically fit / able to go up and down hills and stairs, this could be a challenging place to stay. It's obviously hot in Bali and my partner and I were walking up and down many stairs and steep hills around the property to get to and from our room. It made it slightly uncomfortable as you would shower and get ready to go out - by the time you were at the reception you were already very hot. They do have buggies that are helpful, but only take you so far - after which it's a lot of stairs (for example - the cable car was not functional when we stayed so the steps to the spa were I think close to 150 steep concrete steps (there, and the same back)).
Good location and beautiful setting. Nicely designed rooms - but the sliding doors on the pool villas were a little ill-fitting and allowed bugs inside.

The level of service is out of this world. It is impossible to single out any of the staff as better they are all, kind, smiling and very attended to make the stay at Sanna perfect. IMHO The Food is with great variety and well served, seasoned and affordable. It's location feels secluded and romantic. Was just a perfect couple of days of our Honeymoon.

GreeceExcuisite resort. Brand new with jungle aesthetic, harmonically balanced with the tropic environment. The room was excellent, the view was beautiful. All public areas were also astonishing, the pool, the restaurant (highly recommend trying their menu), the spa. And above all the people are gentle and truly willing to help. Whenever I revisit Bali I will surely book a stay here again.

New ZealandThe hotel is about half an hour from ubud but shuttles and taxis are available. We enjoyed the quieter location as Ubud is very busy.
Quiet location with comfortable rooms and spectacular private pools cantilevered over the valley. There was a wide variety of options for breakfast and dinner. My wife is gluten free and she was grateful for the lovely gluten free bread provided. The staff are very kind and thoughtful and make your stay a memorable experience. We also enjoyed massages at the Spa which were excellent.

GreeceI would recommend only to add more options to the drinks and food but the existing was good as well.
We stayed to the jungle villa with pool, the view was breathtaking and the services were super. All the staff was super polite and helpful. Spa was close to the river so you had your massage with the sound of the river. They have housekeeping services twice per day and they were available to satisfy all needs. Considering the spot, hotel was super clean and the rooms were free from insects. I will revisit in the future for sure.

United KingdomWe loved everything.
We liked everything. Sometimes we felt it was a bit too much caring for us, but we felt pampered so we're not really complaining. The food is AMAZING and HEALTHY. The staff is insanely polite and caring. They made us feel very welcomed and special. It's 100% a place we will be back to, no doubt. It might not be on the cheap side for Bali, but it's slightly cheaper than Magic Hills (tourist trap) and 1000X better! We felt really really really really really good in Sanna and they was available at anytime, for anything at all. Breakfast was AMAZING. We had few different options in our 5 nights stay, and we had few different dishes from á lá Carte restaurant menu for our meals. It was extremely tasty and the service was great. All the staff are incredible and you feel they're genuine and kind, which is what matters when you travel and want to feel good. They was always promptly available to book us a driver (with return if needed!) Can't thank Sanna enough, and it's definitely on our list for when we visit Bali again in the future. We felt rejuvenated. I can't remember the name of who was working while we was there, but your faces and smile are a very vivid memory. We might see you in 2025 or 2026 at latest! Thank you for everything!

Sanna is a dream come true! Every detail has been carefully and artfully considered to provide an amazing guest experience. The stunning architecture, furnishings, landscape, and water features, the delicious food, the spa and most of the all the wonderful staff make us want to return soon. We can’t say enough about the staff members’ gracious and sincere interest in our comfort -Eta, Sokum, Juajuan, Yuda to name a few. In over thirty years of international travel Sanna rates at the top!

United KingdomThe hillside lift isn't working yet (April 24) (they are waiting on insurance) so be aware if you are in a valley villa or using the spa you've got a very steep hike up the stairs
Absolutely stunning setting, probably the most beautiful place I've stayed. The resort feels like a little hidden jungle paradise. Friendly, helpful staff, helped me rent a scooter, and the food is good. Pool was clean with great views. Villa well designed with plenty amenities and bedside universal sockets. The spa at the bottom of the valley looks like something out of an AI dream

IrelandFor guests from the Western part if the world (like myself) it took some slight adjusting to completely immerse into sleeping without a TV or other distractions. However, the sound of animals during the night was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had (and I traveled quite a bit through luxury destinations), and experiencing how the life of locals in such environment is.
A beautiful property and an amazing experience of being in the jungle. Everything was at a very high standard from check-in to check-out and all staff are simply 11/10. Our wonderful Sekar from F&B and the entire team made us feel genuinely welcome, looked after, called us by our names and gave us tips for local experiences. The hotel can also arrange to rent a scooter for you upon request which they arrange through local providers. A comfortable 15 minute ride to the heart of Ubud, only up the road from the rice fields and it is less crowded - it isn’t a touristy hot spot. It was wonderful to sit on a scooter in the late afternoon and explore the local villages and drive through rice fields as the fog was coming down.
