Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

In the 8bed dormitory there wasn’t curtain at the bed

A very nice vibe here, they offer private rooms and dorms. Everything was clean, it’s also nearby to Malioboro street where there are shops and restaurants. You can also rent bikes from them directly. The staff were very nice and super helpful - we had some issues figuring out where to get the bus from to our next destination and they helped us contact the right people and get the information for us. Would highly recommend!

The staff was really nice, they always helped me. The location is strategic and the area safe. The hostel is welcoming. I really recommend this accommodation.

It would be nice to have a separate toilet on the top floor, and not combined with a shower.
Location is good, nice design of the accommodation and the private room was small but fair value for price. Beds were comfy, facilities were also ok with choice of 2 cold showers and 2 hot/cold showers. There’s also a common space but I didn’t use this. Also there’s filtered water available so you don’t have to buy so many water bottles!

My dorm was near the entrance and while there were few people staying I could hear some noise in the morning, due to the door not being soundproof.
The hostel is located very conveniently between the old part of Yogyakarta and the train station. It was easy to explore the city on foot from it. It's an old building tastefully restored and adapted to a hostel. It has all the basic facilities and the beds are comfy and equipped with lockers.

The dorm's door does not isolate from noise at all so you'll need your earplugs to have a good night's sleep
The hostel is conveniently located near the main Malioboro street and Sultan's palace. The space is clean, nicely designed and the staff is very friendly

Great location. Everything is clean and the aircon works well. Free water provided which was very nice. They’ve got a fridge/ freezer which is lovely to cool down drinks or fruit private bought. Renting a motor cycle was super easy and cheap (70k). Backpack can be left there safely after checkout as well. WiFi is decent. Warm water showers work well.

The staff did try, but it was a bit difficult communicating
The hostel is close to the corner of Malioboro street and the palace. This also makes it easy to get to with public transport

The bathroom area is very old and gives a dirty vibe, could use a small renovation, remove dirty shower curtains etc
Location was great, the bed was very clean and comfy. It’s not a social hostel but if you are in for a calm stay, it’s perfect

The toilets were located in the hot showers only (so hard to use them in the morning) The bathroom wasn’t really clean but still ok. The staff, although nice, wasn’t really helpful and almost caused us to miss our train. We left our bags for the day and wanted to pick them back on the night. When we arrived, no one was here and no one actually rushed to help us so we were literally stuck without our stuff for more than 25 minutes (which sounds like nothing, but still a problem when you’re expecting a train and no one warned you about the fact that no one could be here). Anyway, rest assured that your stuff are safe if you leave them for the day. Additionally, they did not provide any info on how to visit the temples around yogya.
The room was nice, clean and perfect for three people!
