Beds super comfortable, nice bathroom with lots of space and good shower. Fast wifi. Tasty breakfast.

NetherlandsDO NOT BOOK HERE!!! I booked hotel Tamantara for our holiday in Ubud, Bali. Once we arrived in our room to sleep in the evening, we were shocked by the condition of the room. The hygiene of the room was very poor. The bedding was very dirty. There were black stains and smudges on the bed linen, the towels also contained blood stains and black stains. It seemed like nothing had been washed. In addition, the bathroom was covered in mold and hair from the previous guest. During the night there also appeared to be two geckos in our room which caused a lot of noise and unfortunately no one could be reached to help us. We lay awake all night and couldn't sleep. That night we immediately booked a new hotel. Unfortunately, our stay was short-lived and we were forced to leave. The next morning we shared the complaints with the receptionist. She was also shocked by the condition of the room and the associated shortcomings. Despite the condition of the room and the commitment of the hotel employee, we have not received a refund or any compensation from the hotel. No cooperation or understanding from the hotel! PLEASE people don't book here!! You will end up in a very dirty hotel.

AustraliaThe property overall needed a bit of work! A few thousand dollars would make the villas way better. They are poorly maintained, mould on shower mirrors etc. don’t be cheap, I know there are foreigner owners… they were more interested in installing pendant lights in the restaurant than maintaining the villas. It’s your cash cow, without the villas your restaurant is almost worthless in its location. Won’t be staying here again.
The staff were amazing!!! They were so friendly and lovely and willing to help me here they could! The location wasn’t amazing but it was ok, it was a 10-15 min walk to one of the main streets but the walk back was not great as it’s uphill.

Hong KongThere wasn’t anywhere to hang out at the property, other than the front porch cafe and a small sad-looking pool. The room was nicely furnished but it was on the ground floor and so the windows had been darkened (for privacy) which meant the room was dark. The bathroom also lacked basic things like a shelf in the shower to put shampoo etc, and there were only 2 hangers in the wardrobe. In addition, the internet connection was very poor and kept cutting out. It would have been fine if it had been half the price, but it wasn’t worth what I paid for it. I just needed to stay for a night before checking in to another hotel, but couldn’t have stayed there longer. There are plenty of other places in Ubud offering so much more at lower rates.
The room was clean and nicely furnished. The breakfast was nice and the staff were nice.

New ZealandLots of stairs (we were on first floor up). The pool was very small with only 2 loungers so if they were occupied it wasn’t usable. Breakfast service was very slow with only 1 drink allowed - choice of tea, coffee or juice. Food was good though and cooked to order. Worst part of the stay was the dogs barking next door at all hours from midnight till 7 am

AustraliaWe were an older group and need to recharge at home base after an outing. We had a 2 BR villa and were hoping there would be more living space to allow us to do this together. There was a small outdoor living space with a table and a small lounge. For us it didn't really work that well but it would be great for younger people with no health issues. The rooms were fine but the bathrooms were a bit cramped and our loo leaked a bit - we had been spoilt by other villas we've stayed in though. There was really no restaurant to speak of, just a few tables near reception. Although the restaurant was advertised as able to provide three meals a day, when we arrived we found it didn't do dinner. We like to use room service so that was a problem for us but probably wouldn't be for other people because there are two excellent restaurants nearby - Memento is right next door and Soul Kitchen is just across the street. We think it's a good place to stay, just not for us and you can find better value for money in Bali. We thought the advertising was a little misleading because it looked better in the photos than in real life.
This villa is in a quiet location opposite a rice paddy. It's right beside the Best Western in Ubud and there are two good cheap restaurants close by. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our safe wasn't working and they sorted out a work around straight away. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious. Our pool was cool and clean.

United KingdomThe double bedroom isn’t big, with limited space to store bags and items. Only one bed side table provided, so someone has to use the floor. Perhaps the room is intended for a solo guest? The pillows were far too thick and bulky so were uncomfortable. There is a safe available in the room, but is not fixed within the cupboard - any thief could simply pick it up and be off with it. So I didn’t bother to use it.
The staff were great - helpful, pleasant, polite.

the room had horrible smell and black mild on the ceiling and the walls. we didn’t stay and they didn’t agree to give us a refund. they just ignored us, saying the will contact us late because they are trying to reach the manager. never called us back of course.

AustraliaElectricity kept powering off. In the middle of the night, and even at times when we were in the shower and stuck in the dark. Property sent an engineer told us that the electricity caps out after a certain amount but it happened even when we didn’t have anything plugged in. We found a cockroach crawling up near the bed and a piece of plastic in our mango smoothie. When bringing this up to to the property even though we told them each time they did nothing to compensate. Def not worth the price. You can get the same standard with a much cheaper place.
The staff was extremely nice and location was good.
