A traditional style Balinese hotel with only a few rooms which were spacious and had a fridge and coffee making facilities. We loved the large terrace which overlooked a spectacular garden. Wayan our host prepared a beautiful breakfast for us every morning. The hotel was quiet and secluded and just a three minute stroll to all that Ubud had to offer.

The owner is such a kind and helpful person - always ready to assist with anything, including organizing transport and excursions, which made our trip even more enjoyable. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling, with fresh juices that we loved. Our room was clean and comfortable, with housekeeping almost every day and fresh towels provided regularly. United KingdomNice secluded place in the middle of busy Ubud. Lots of green lush plants around the property and they provide shade near the swimming pool. Very large comfortable rooms with air con. Breakfast was delicious and lots of fruit provided. I had a nasty cold and Wayan got me ginger, salt Lime etc to help me recover. The 3 dogs and a cat are super cute as well!!! 🙏🙏🙏

MoroccoI had an amazing stay at Tanah Semujan in Ubud. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the main street, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and quiet. The owners are incredibly polite and welcoming, making me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The rooms are cleaned every single day, which is something I truly appreciated after weeks of traveling. But the real highlight? The breakfast. After 40 days of traveling around Asia, I can confidently say that the breakfast here was the best I’ve had—fresh, delicious, and the perfect way to start the day.

AustraliaThe only downside of being surrounded by nature is that when staying on the top floor, the sound of animals (apparently squirrels) in the roof at night may be quite disturbing to your sleep😳 The smell of the drain in the bathroom can be strong at times (which maybe some incense burning would cover up easy enough)
Loved the calm energy of nature surrounding the pool, the location is great within walking distance to the main areas. Wayan and his wife are very kind and happily accomodate and help with anything you need 😊

United StatesBecause the hotel is situated down a beautiful side lane, it is a bit hard to find the first time you arrive, because when you see the Tanah Semujan sign, you have to find the small side lane to walk 100 meters off of Jalan Bisma. But the proprietor was always immediately responsive to help. That being said, this is the perfect place for solo travelers looking for a very safe family atmosphere that is still festive and fun. Overall fantastic experience.
The garden, the quiet swimming pool for morning swims, the gourmet healthy breakfasts with fresh juices, and so much more. The couple who owns the hotel makes you feel welcome in Ubud. It is the perfect place to begin your Bali journey.

The owner Wayan is genuinely kind and warm hearted, he prepares super yummy breakfasts and helps you with everything. We enjoyed the avocado and American breakfasts on the balcony overlooking the garden—truly a delightful and relaxing experience. Outstanding Hospitality: Wayan went above and beyond, personally carrying our luggage to the second floor and ensuring we had everything we needed. Spacious and Clean Room: The room was large, spotless, and comfortable, with daily towel changes that added to the overall convenience. The room included a small fridge, which was a nice touch for keeping drinks or snacks cool. Prompt and Thoughtful Service: A hair dryer was promptly provided upon request, and the free-flowing drinking water from the dispenser outside the room was a very practical addition. Great Value: The rates were very affordable, offering exceptional value for such a wonderful stay.
