The pool is located in a nice area, however, it is not heated.

The grounds of the hotel are very beautiful, with several sculptures. The room was of a good size, nicely decorated and comfortable. And the staff was just superb - really helpful, quick to react, polite. It is rather small hotel so it feels very private. Their whatsapp 'concierge' was very convenient, and the staff responded promptly.

Exquisitely decorated expansive resort with serene open spaces and beautiful peaceful luxury villas Staff are just amazing, kind and generous and offer Aman level customer service. Their inclusions are a wonderful addition including minibar, transport to and from Ubud and much more. If you can’t find happiness and serenity here and don’t love it then you probably need to see a psychologist

- gym air-conditioning could have been better. but ok as you were distracted working out with a view of the rice fields

- food was great. Afternoon tea complimentary was a great addition, with new items ever day - room was better than anticipated. Very large, and outdoor bathroom was unique. - the staff were wonderful, and every single need was accounted for and supported efficiently via WhatsApp. they truly made our stay very welcoming!! - complimentary laundry was appreciated and unexpected! - shuttles to and from town made for easy access to restaurants - the grounds and pool were inviting and relaxing - so much was complimentary that we didn't expect. including a spa service, room sweets, and sunset cocktail!

The only non amazing thing was the food by the pool. It’s not up to the standard of everything else. I will say though that I had a dish at dinner of confit chicken with mash, jus and vegetables, it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had.

The property is stunning! Super super quiet, like we only saw other guests at dinner, one other table. Then breakfast three tables. The staff were the best, remembered everything we liked and looked after us to perfection. The villa was stunning, the history is lovely. All the free inclusions were lovely.

We ate dinner twice at the hotel and it was mediocre. I would have expected a lot more from this resort.

This place was an absolute highlight of our family trip to Bali. Escape from the noise and business of other areas, a perfect base to explore Ubud rivers walk shops etc, or just relax all day on the grounds. Gardens and pools were just paradise. Staff entertained kids with fishing and feeding birds with such patience and kindness at all times. I o my wishes we had stayed longer, will definitely return for a longer stay in the future.

Nothing serios, albeit some construction was going on, limiting outward visibility over the rice terraces.. I wish the swing to be back - it was wonderful! And I've missed the ceremony of lighting up the REAL torches in the rice field...sometimes we need less progress to celebrate human-only moments.

I've been regularly here since The Chedi times, observing how the places evolves over the years and I believe it keeps well with the time. For me this is ultimate relax and life-detox place, when being in Ubud, yet same time away from any hassle. It is quiet, serene, maximizing your privacy even when you are outdoors by spacious, wonderful territory. New experiences arose in last years, like the new lounge, kids pool or the balloon flights, yet the core values and the soul, the key staff members - all remained same and welcomed me back again. I won't stop coming here as far as I can, as this is so much rejuvenating to take a break in those settings, watching sunset over the rise fields with the glass of signature Tanah Gajah Purple in your hand..

Have to leave the hotel 😭😭

We travel a lot and this was one of the best hotel experiences we had in life. From the arrival to the 5th day, the hotel staff kept exceeding our expectations. Easy check in, very important when you arrive late and tired. Very comfortable and clean room. The spa massage is fantastic. Excellent day tour with hotel driver. Breakfast and meals with good quality and excellent service. Transfer to Ubud centre… But the best in Tanah Gajah is the Staff: very well trained team and, more importantly, really good heart people! Big thanks to everyone in the team!

What a find. We can't wait to be back in this lovely place. They created a perfect formula, it is not possible not to enjoy staying here. I will be back in Bali soon just to stay here.

Maybe the gazebo and the private pool in the villa could be renewed and better maintained.

The views, the villa, the staff, everything was great. We enjoyed the nature, the garden, the spa, the gym. The massage therapists were excellent.

Tanah Gajah is a gem, even by Balinese standards. Designed by an artist for himself, you feel as if you are living within a royal garden. Visual feasts of sculptures, landscaping, nature(white and black swans, white pigeons, egrets landing in the rice paddies). The villas are fantastic, the food is great, the staff are delightful and attend to your every need. Complimentary alcohol, fruit, afternoon tea with snacks, and cocktails, and daily yoga are included. Nothing is spared to make your stay enjoyable. The only downside each morning is having to make the difficult decision whether to take an excursion, or stay for another tranquil day of pure luxury.
