I had a wonderful stay at The Compass Rose! This small, charming hotel nestled in the peaceful greenery around 3-4km from the city center was perfect for those seeking tranquility. The spacious bed and well-equipped room provided everything I needed. The staff went above and beyond, helping us arrange a Mt. Batur tour and scooters. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nothing, all was great. The only thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is located a bit afar from the center of Ubud and on a rather isolated road.

Very nice room, well furnished and very comfortable. The staff is amazingly friendly, always keen on helping. The hotel has a restaurant which has a great quality/price ratio.

Not under anyone's control, but something just to be aware of when staying in this area, it takes a morning or two to get used to the roosters

The location is bit far away from the city.

The room is spacious and beautiful. The bed is really comfortable. The bathroom is nice. The staffs were super friendly and helpful. Good value for the money.

The location wasn't the greatest, as the entrance is very narrow but we didn't have any issues getting in or out using the Grab app (Uber), and it's still fairly close to everything

This place is really nice and private. The staff is amazing and they went above and beyond to accommodate us and to make sure our stay was great! It's a bit out the way, but we didn't have any issues using the Grab app for taxis, which are really cheap. It's nice and private, away from the noise of Ubud city centre and the place itself is quite nice and cozy

The location was a bit too out of the way - 2-3 km up through firstly a busy road then village roads, and then along a long very rough driveway. (definitely need a motorbike to get around as would be quite isolating otherwise). The pool was nice but a bit weird location right by reception. The restaurant was a bit limited for evening meals.

The room was lovely looking out over mature trees. (However we had the Jungle Villa which I would really recommend). The value for money was really great, and we got a lot for our money. The staff were excellent - very friendly and accommodating (especially Bintang, Pebri, Koman, and Made). The general location near Ubud was great, as this part of Bali suits us much more than the resorts or beaches. Generally, this was a great relaxing spot to have our adventures from, with good facilities and lovely staff.

Location was a bit further in but the plus point of that is that you avoid the noise in the city. Most of the grab drivers and tour guides are able to navigate their way in despite the narrow lane. I think the restaurant's speed needs to be improved as we waited 1 hour, I think it's faster if you call grabfood. If you are looking for a swim, I don't think the swimming pool will impress you much :).

I love the hospitality and the staff were really attentive and kind. They are literally a whatsapp away. The breakfast served in the room with the green view was top tier as well. The bed was very comfy, had a great selection of cable tv to keep us entertained. The room does have a bit of a musty smell but that's normal for most south east asian countries, so personally I was fine with it. It was very clean as well. I am so glad we chose this place and wished we actually stayed there longer.

Maybe just the right road getting to the property. Drivers do manage to get down here though and the rest of bali is the same so I wouldn’t say it is something to put you off staying here. It’s easy enough to find.

Lovely property, close to ubud Center. We booked a grab scooter as they seemed to get down the roads easier and quicker than the cars. Also booked taxis for when we came back later on the evening. The road leading to the property is off the track and very narrow so just give the taxi driver a heads up as there is a small ditch on the side of the road that we got stuck in a couple of times. Apart from that it is pretty straightforward to get to and the location is good The staff were amazing!! Very attentive and always asked us where we were going to make sure we made the most of the time at each location. The food was amazing too!! They really made us feel like we were at home. No issue with bali belly or anything, we had ice in our drinks every time and the hotel made sure they only serve drinking water 😊 The rooms were lovely, they were very authentic. I would defiantly recommend to stay here. For the price you really can’t go wrong. We felt very safe and felt sad when it came to leave. Thank you to all the staff!!! You really made out stay 😃

This hotel really exceeded our expectations! The room was really comfortable and the balcony was in the middle of a beautiful garden. The restaurant had nice food options if you don't want to go outside of the hotel for food and the staff at the hotel was very friendly and beyond helpfull.

The bed was cracking badly, for light sleepers like me is not ideal. Bathroom wall also need a good scrub as the soap built up is quite bad

The moisture in the room was too high, and it smelled like mold. It would have been a lot better if the room was fitted with a dehumidifier. We've seen those present in other hotel rooms on the island and the problem was solved.

Just the approach road is tricky in the first visit but it's nothing to sweat about.

It was AMAZING and I really loved every moment of it. The villa is very pretty and comfortable, and everything is approachable from a bike. Coming to the best part, I have travelled across the world but never came across a staff as amazing as the one here. My wife and I literally loved their hospitality and how they went out of their way to help us so many times. Ratih especially is just so so delightful and so is Komang and all other people too. I would recommend it to everyone.

Was quite remote, not really walking distance to anything

The staff were exceptional! There was 24hrs of torrential rain and flooding so we couldn’t book a taxi to get us to a wedding. The manager drove us himself, which took an hour and a half each way! The rooms were clean and great value.

If you are looking for a peaceful stay, away from the hustle bustle. Compass Rose Is the place to be in Ubud. It's a lovely boutique resort with a cozy atmosphere. The staff will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The room ambience makes you feel that you stay for long duration. The facilities are exactly the one showed in pictures.

Nothing much to complain about just its a little bit far from the center of the city , and it’s not easy accessible if u r not familiar with the area or riding ur own scooter but it’s perfectly fine if u r taking a CAB

Very nice place to stay in ubud without breaking the bank , the hotel is really nice and staff are so friendly and helpful, amazing views and room is very well equipped. Although breakfast time is between 6 and 10 AM , the staff were preparing my breakfast at 4 AM cuz am leaving early and bringing it to my room. And on my last day my taxi booking to the airport got cancelled due to some road blockages, but the staff took me to the airport with the hotel car without even asking for any extra charges. It was really amazing
