There isn’t much seating around the pool. I wouldn’t really describe it as a good family hotel as the pool and the area around it is quite small, but for couples or groups of friends it’s good.

The staff were amazing, always very friendly. Breakfast choices were good and delicious. Delicious cocktails by the pool and the rooms are very clean. The hotel itself is spotless. Good location, easy walking to restaurants and the beach.

The location is great and we loved the size of the hotel but the highlight is the incredibly kind and helpful staff that are so welcoming and polite, including hotel staff and security. Every single person went out of their way to make us feel welcome and that really stood out and made our stay! Great food and drinks, great pool, extremely clean and comfortable and we will definitely stay again. Close to so many restaurants, short walk to the beach, trustworthy money exchange across the road, everything you need within walking distance. Highly recommend staying here.

Nothing, it was all great!

We were blown away by the fresh, stylish feeling of this hotel. Everything was new and clean, but also had individual style and did not feel like a 'brand new' hotel with no soul. This place was comfortable, extremely clean, and surprisingly quiet and peaceful for such a central location. Staff were really lovely, and because the hotel is small, even in just 3 days we felt like we knew the people working there. When not busy, everyone was cleaning and making sure the guests were happy. A small problem with the pool meant we could not swim (for just one day) and the hotel put on a spread of pizza and drinks all day to help guests enjoy their time without the pool. The beds are exceptionally comfortable (I like a firm bed) and the staff asked me on the second day if I would like a soft topper if it was too hard. I declined, because I liked it the way it was. Bathroom was all new, everything worked perfectly. Air con new and cold, plenty of power outlets around the whole room, and the bedroom was nice and dark even in mid-morning (unless you turned the lights on and opened the curtains). Great, peaceful sleep which is a nice change for central Legian, which is always noisy. I will definitely return to this lovely hotel.

We loved everything.

This is our 2nd stay at the Mahata as we return to Australia via Bali. We stay in order to have a rest before the flight home and have chosen Mahata for the calm, tasteful and clean facilities, the friendly and efficient staff and the excellent food. The chefs are excellent and all meals are beautifully prepared and presented. We will be back.

The mattress was a little too firm for our liking but that didn't stop us getting a good night sleep.

The staff were exceptional and always happy to help where needed. They built a great rapport with us and they felt like family as they were so nice. We had a great time. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere in the building was great for our stay.

I suggest to book a room furthest away from the dinning area - I was awoken a couple mornings at 7 when it opened. Only fault of my stay.

Amazing smaller hotel!!!! As soon as we arrived till the moment we left, staff were so attentive and thoughtful. The cleanest hotel I have seen in my many trips to Bali, comfortable bed and bedding and the food was top notch! Beautiful pool with a swim up bar and plenty of lounge chairs. Great location - off the main strip with plenty of spa’s / bars. Beach was a 8 min walk. I will booking again my next trip.

We had no problems with this place

We had dinner here last September and said we would come back and stay. We weren’t disappointed. Lovely cosy place. The staff were lovely and welcoming. It was great the staff always inquired if everything was OK.
