The pool and outdoor restaurant area, so very beautiful, and the view into the ocean, we truly felt like being in a paradise. Also the resort felt very seclusive, which we really appreciated.

Hidden costs adding 20% to everything adding “sticker shock” at the end takes the shine off an otherwise excellent stay. Please add tax and service pricing to all menus and costs so we don’t feel swindled when checking out. The menu needs a little work. Indonesian dishes are excellent but western food was bland and uninteresting.

The location, staff (shout out to Sandi my favourite barman!), facilities and relaxed atmosphere are top notch. Sunsets at the restaurant are spectacular. Mojitos by the pool are panacea for the world weary.

1. You get only 2 small bottles of water (0,25l) for free, you need to pay extra for more water (other location provide water dispenser which is great) 2. Nothing to do near the hotel, the food delivery options are limited so you can only eat at the hotel 3. Even if you can go to the ocean the waves are big so it would be difficult to stay on the small beach

The resort is located by the ocean, but there is no access to swimming, which is a shame and it mainly has a beach in the name of the resort. I was very disappointed with the hotel restaurant. The food and drinks were not exceptional enough for the hotel to charge such prices. The prices were really high, for example a large beer for 98k (without tax and service charge), we haven't had such an expensive beer anywhere else in Bali :-D. Also, the wifi didn't work very well for us and the mosquito net didn't reach the head of the bed.

The bungalow was nice and contained all the necessary equipment, we were pleased with the bathrobes and towels for the pool. The rooms and the entire premises were clean. The service was nice and helpful. Beautiful view of the ocean. And it was also interesting that the resort had some kind of entertainment program almost every day - live music, dance performances, etc.

Position of the restaurant is lovely - great views and good service. Enjoyed the traditional dancers and music. A group of children were being taught traditional dancing one day during our visit. It was lovely to watch.

The restaurant should be better or cheaper. The gym should either be fully removed or fully renewed.

Really just losing a point for the restaurant which should be either cheaper or better, and the kinda abandonned fitness room... Otherwise this hotel is a gem. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The facilities, gardens and pool are very well maintained and the fact that you are right on the ocean makes it magical. The staff was very kind and helpful. Renting a motorbike will allow you to go see nearby temples and beaches.

The portion of the pancake lacks sufficiency, it would be great to give the option of mixing sweet and salty foods. Mold in the room leading to the bathroom, should be repainted. Very worn curtain with rusty stains. Very bad lighting in the room and bathroom. In a country where you can’t drink from the tap, I would expect them to provide at least 2 litres of water per day free of charge. The floor was not really clean, otherwise everything else was clean. Terrible road leading to the hotel. Quite hectic wifi. There should be at least some glass between the bathroom and the bedroom because this way you hear everything that happens in the bathroom, if you know what I mean.

Something just to be aware: If you are looking for the beach, there is no beach but just the sea view. The area doesn’t have too many sand beaches. The sea is very wavy and loud at night. We thought it was the wind at first! The roof inside the bungalow has huge spiderwebs. nothing that can be done but if you are very scared, you may want to know! However, I didn’t see even a spider! (And I am very scared myself) restaurant: the western food was not good but we had the barbecue night instead and it was amazing. I would recommend having Balinese food if you east there. WI-FI: it just doesn’t work 9 times out of 10.

The resort is very peaceful with wonderful views.We had the bungalow in front of the sea with a little patio which looked great and clean! East Bali is a great place to go if you are looking for a less touristy Bali and to discover around.

We loved how peaceful and quiet this hotel was and how warm and welcoming ALL of the team (reception, bell boys, room cleaners and restaurant staff) were throughout our stay. We would love to return here one day. It was an excellent base to visit the beaches and temples of East Bali. Food is great and the views of the sea (especially at sunset) are very hard to beat. If you fancy food somewhere else - most local restaurants will pick up and drop off for free if you WhatsApp them (we especially liked Vincent’s)! Or you can contact Gotya Tour and Taxi Service, Candidasa (search on google) who does restaurant drop offs for a ridiculously cheap price. We also stayed at Candi Beach Resort for two nights and although that was luxurious, we thought Nirwana was much better in terms of value.

Wifi at ocean front villas can be a bit patchy (you can get it at the restaurant or closer to the lobby) Mosquito nets could be adapted to completely encapsulate the bed (including headboard) though we actually had no problem with mosquito bites at the hotel - and I’m usually a magnet for them.

The staff at Nirwana are absolutely exceptional. In our experience, hospitality in Bali is generally excellent but every person at Nirwana made us (and in particular, our baby) feel so welcome - we were sad to leave! This hotel is excellent value - we loved the breakfast menu and the food and cocktails were delicious. The rooms and restaurant are tastefully decorated and there was consistent hot water and air con (which was an issue at another, much more expensive place we stayed in the area). They are doing work to renovate and improve the hotel even further though none of the impacted on our stay in any way - we’d love to come back in the future!

There weren't a lot of indonesian food options at the restaurant but the food was pretty good. The room was a bit dirty. The pool was a little discoloured but otherwise clean.

Beach views from the room were amazing, the staff were very friendly and the bed was very comfortable. The area was very quiet and a great place for a relaxing holiday.
