Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaI had great time and one of my favorite hostels i have stayed at
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a hidden gem of a hostel on the breathtaking island of Nusa Penida, and it exceeded every expectation. From the warm atmosphere to the stunning location, this hostel offers everything you could ask for during your stay on this beautiful island.

United KingdomJust the location is a little far out from anything but you can rent scooters/ get taxis from the hostel.
The check in felt very welcoming. The hostel had a really cool layout. The staff were friendly, fun and helpful. The boxing class was fun and they had daily events for everyone to join in. Although there wasn't much around, the facilities onsite, staff and other guests made the stay!

FranceThe Penida Project is a hidden gem in the jungle, while still only 8-10min drive away from the centre & beachfront. Special shoutouts to Jordy, Haha and Sam for their warm welcome and attention to details to make you feel at home. I will be back to ring the extension bell!

GermanyThe beds on the top are hard to reach.
I absolutely loved everything. The staff was so nice and they helped with everything. One of the owners showed me how to drive a scooter. If I needed anything they would help me. The food was also very delicious. Also it was quite easy so socialise, but it’s not a party hostel, so you can have a chill time. For me the Location was absolutely perfect, it’s in the middle of the jungle, but you will definitely need a scooter so get around. I would love to come back. Thank you so much :)

CanadaIt’s a little out of the way , but it’s totally worth it. Feels like a little family once you’re there.
The staff were amazing , felt so welcomed especially being a solo traveller. Haeqal was so sweet and helpful giving recommendations for what to do on the island. Also having the restaurant at the hostel was so convenient and the food was amazing. 10/10 stay.

United KingdomThis was the best hostel I have ever stayed at! The staff were 10/10, no, 11/10! It was the perfect vibe - social without being a crazy party hostel. The food is the best on the island and the beds are insanely comfy. I don't usually sleep well and my sleeps here were epic. Thank you Penida Project, you are ace, I have been telling all my travel friends to stay here

IndiaEverything about the Penida Project is on point. The location, the staff, the stay, the food and most importantly the vibe. My most favourite hostel in the entire Bali trip. I wish I had a few more nights in Penida. The owner was at the counter and made sure I got my laundry on time despite the public holiday. When in Nusa Penida, ‘The Penida Project’ is your goto hostel.

South KoreaTop bunks are a little difficult to get into. Only one bathroom which was not a problem but a little annoying to get to in the night.
Amazing property around 15 minutes away from the main pier. Its not close to anything though so expect to spend your evenings in the hostel. I liked that it meant it was so social though, with lots of activites on offer to do throughout the day.

NetherlandsThe bathroom could have been more clean. The accommodation is a bit far from everything and hard to get to due to the road. This was absolutly no problem, as the hostel is a great place to stay in the evenings as well, but would have been nice to also see some of Nusa Penida by night :) Just something to keep in mind.
The Penida Project is a great location to stay! The staff is very friendly and from the moment I entered the accommodation, I felt welcomed and part of the family. The poolparty, the family dinner and the sunset yoga were amazing. It is very easy to meet people and to arrange transfers via the hostel. The rooms were also very confortable, as your sleeping kind of in your own cabin. The swimming pool and surrounding garden are a great bonus to relaxe to the fullest.

Italygreat location (no crazy traffic) lovely people easy to make new friends. I really enjoyed the basketball court the night events and the relaxed atmosphere this great hostel offers. the yoga evening and the karaoke night made my stay! I would actually suggest to have yoga all evenings, the atmosphere is too good to do it only once per week. the guys managing the place are nice people and treated every host as a family member! I was a bit worried about transportation as driving the scooter is not my thing however there are plenty of taxi car and taxi scooter that you can request via WhatsApp. definitely recommend!

Germanyit takes you about 20 minutes from the main road to get there. That was kinda a bit annoying especially in the evening, cause the road was not the best. And the food was a bit expensive, still ok tho.
The stuff and the vibes and the offered program was amazing. It was comfortable and clean. Loved it.
